These are great! Too bad there aren't more of them. Every single one conveys a distinct and vibrant image with almost no information. Some are sad, some are gorgeous, but most are actually quite funny. The translators did a good job conveying the "cutting" of the haiku.
Kobayashi Issa was a Japanese poet known for his haiku poems and journals. He is regarded as one of the four haiku masters in Japan, along with Bashō, Buson and Shiki.
