Oh. My. God! Such a moving story. I am an emotional wreck.

An amazing story of Cab, who has it all but feels his life has no real meaning, and Kei, who expects nothing and has a true purpose. The blending of these two worlds is emotionally engaging. Life changing, for sure.

What an uplifting story. This book had a feeling of the movie a walk to remember. If you seen this movie then you'll know how this one will turn out.

Cabot and Kei made one of the most sweetest couples I've ever read about. Cabot was an actor whose life wasn't his own and Kei lived hers serving others in need.

This is the first book that I've read this month that really had me crying A LOT and I've read this for a straight 5 hours , I really like reading a book that i like not stopping once I've started it.

I am young.
I'm only 14 and even though I still don't understand how the world really functions because I haven't seen most of it yet , I felt really soft inside and that is a really nice feeling.

gosh, i feel bad giving this only a three star rating. with all the five star ratings in the front page, i had so much expectations for this book. Cab is a celebrity, and he was supposed to be my cup of tea. Kei had the attitude that i loved so dearly that the ending broke my heart. The plot could've been so powerful and amazing if only Stefne Miller wrote better.

Wow. Stefne Miller definitely has a talent. This book was incredible!
I just found this romance to be so, so sweet! Unlike the 90% of my books where the romance is steamy and hits off from the start, this one developed gradually and it was so sweet.
Cab's and Kei's transformations were jaw-opening. It was like they were a whole other person! My only fault was that I felt Cab became selfless a little too quickly. Then again, people do many things for love.

Collision by Stefne Miller is an amazing book, a beautiful and romantic love story. At times, it felt a little like a fairytale, especially the central part.
The main characters, Kei and Cab, are two very different persons. They're both young but while Cab is famous and rich and living a life often made more of appearance than of substance, Kei is a missionary who has little and that little she has, she mostly gives to others.

These two worlds apparently so apart, collide when Cab decides he needs some time away from his life as a star and retreats in the house of a friend. There, he meets Kei, who's having a short time break from her life as a missionary in Uganda.
In spite of their differences, the two slowly become friends and then fall in love and above all, they help each other grow and discover sides of themselves they didn't know. Kei teaches Cab how fulfilling and beautiful it is to give to others and helps him discover what he really wants to do with his life. Cab helps Kei learn to hope for more, to expect things that she never thought she could have.
There are obstacles, like Cab's star status and Kei's difficult past, but their love for each other is so strong, they make it work.
There are very moving passages in this book, especially about life in Uganda and about its children. They really made me stop and think and they filled me with sadness but also hope and respect for those who devote their life to help those in need.
The main characters, Cab and Kei, are both very nice and lovable. It's not always so for me when it comes to het romance. Often, I find the female characters to be too winy, too annoying, sometimes even stupid. Not in this book. Kei is an amazing character: she has her fears and worries and she's very innocent in many aspects, but she's also strong and opinionated and smart.
I will surely read this book again, so much I enjoyed it. I also shed some tears, sad tears because of some of the things happening but also happy tears at the beauty of the love Cab and Kei share.(less)

I don't know what to say. This just made it to my most favorite YA book, so far.

It was hauntingly beautiful and I loved every moment of it. This is one of the most heart warming thing i've ever read and just like what every GREAT book out there do to their readers, and which only great books can do, it changed me. It opened my eyes, and showed me what REAL selflessness, compassion, forgiveness, hope, joy, and love looks like.

At first, i was contemplating if the ending was necessary and I would still argue that it wasn't, as it contradicted to the message from the rest of the book, in my opinion. But, I guess things happen and we can't do anything about it but to suck it up. Good or bad.

The characters are all wonderful (except for Griffin. I don't like him very much). I love Kei as her beliefs and faith coincides with my beliefs and faith. I love that despite everything that's happened to her, she stood up, and she stood up strong. And while sometimes her knees would shake, she let other people hold her up until she can manage on her own again. No man is an island, and she gets strength from other people if she must. Being strong is not just being able to stand up when you fall. Sometimes, it's accepting that not all the time, you can do it on your own.

Cabot. Cabot. Cabot. I saw how he changed from being a self-absorbed boy into a selfless man. He's very patient and understanding and gentle. Not only did he learn to accept what Kei stands and lives for, he embraced it and lived it as well. I love reading his point of view of things. He's very sweet and caring and funny and I would always want him to have his happy ending because he deserves it too.

I like the fact that they started out as bestfriends and really took time to learn about each other. Friendship is the unsinkable ship and I firmly believe that every relationship should start with it. I love how the story progressed, how they found each other's purpose, how they faced the demons of the past, and eventually came out with stronger faith, hope, and love.

This is a beautiful story that will make you laugh, love, cry, hope, and believe.

P.S. : For someone who said she doesn't know what to say, i sure did say a lot. XD Splendid!

So, how does Collision compare to Vain? I'm afraid Vain is better. Collision is the less fun, less sexy, more traumatic and more Christian version of Vain. I have to say this though, if the book was in Kei's perspective, I probably would've liked it a lot more. Kei made the book, really.

What I didn't like
I didn't like how the author would throw out strong emotions without really backing them up. It's a showing vs. telling problem.

Review
Cab is at the stage of fame where he's extremely disillusioned and lost. When he meets Kei, he is so surprised at her friendly and casual nature. He is instantly intrigued, and sinks to new lows like spying on her, which was hilarious. I was truly and undeniably turning into a stalker. For Cabot, he's just happy that for once, he gets to do the chasing. His awkwardness had me cringing at moments. But I really enjoyed seeing Kei teach him to live. It was funny too, because he just copies her lifestyle and routine and revels in the novelty of normality.

Kei...is kind of hard to describe, mainly because I don't know what she's thinking. She's so quirky without being quirky. She's a normal Christian girl who's confident in herself but occasionally makes self-deprecating remarks to suggest otherwise. She can be quite snarky, but she's really easy-going and at ease with herself and her beliefs. She's not afraid to air her opinion though she recognises that they won't always be appreciated. Sometimes she shouts when she gets overexcited and generally just gets physical, but not in a bad way. It's kind of cute.

I decided to read this book because I wanted to read something light, I thought it's just another typical feel-good love story. Little did I know that I would be so wrong and that I wouldn't mind it at all.

It's a good book, but I can't give it a 4 or a rating higher than that.
Maybe the overwhelming reviews are the ones to be blame, reading them views gave me so much expectation and I got disappointed that everything really weren't met. But hey, I'm not feeling bad that I spent my whole afternoon reading this.

Nicely written...the right dose of humor and emotions...all I will say is, somewhere a hundred pages before the end, you actually do understand how it will end...and you pray to be proved wrong...but then you aren't..all said and done, I take that one star away for not proving me wrong...

After all, there are only few times when proving us wrong gives us the hope...and this one had all the hopes...there was no need for it to end it ended...I can't justify the predictable end...

Five stars for this book. I loved this book I truly did.

Wow! I'm speechless. So many emotions going through me with this ending I can’t put them all into words.

There were two things that kept me glued to these pages. One was the relationship between Kei and Cabot. It was amazing and so hopeful. It left me wanting more at the end of each chapter. Second, the dialog between these two is so much fun to read I was grinning ear to ear with each word.

Stefne Miller is one of those people who has this crazy amount of talent that I can't even really fathom it. Collision's story was just beautiful. Beautiful and entrancing to a T. I was smiling like a fool for a good portion of the book. The overall mood of the book was just contagious. The happy, light-hearted moments are definitely balanced with the more serious aspects of the book. There are some of the most adorable scenes ever - like the camping scene Kei and Cabot go on. I could have kept reading this one for many more pages, and was so sad when it ended.

The characters in Collision were fantastic. Millie was a total show stealer! I loved her. I almost fell out of my chair laughing from some of the scenes with her. Kei and Cabot were such an adorable and unlikely pair. I loved how both had their flaws, and it made them so much more likable. There was something so special about the both of them.

Collision holds one of the top five heartbreaking endings in all of YA Lit I think. I still am thinking about it days after I finished. I had some severe emotions over it. It shows what kind of writer Stefne Miller is: One who isn't afraid to really make an impact with an ending.

Now Collision is a christian fiction YA, but don't let that scare you off. I've had a discussion with several people over this book, and several people have told me they wouldn't read it solely because of that. I was completely baffled. I despise the stigma that surrounds anything with a Christian label on it. The Christian element is there, sure, Kei is a missionary, but it really is by no means a "shove it down your throat" part of the book or anything. I mean, it's there, just make of it what you will. Collision holds an amazing story and I would hate for anyone to miss it for a simple reason such as that.

Collision by Stefne Miller is undoubtedly one of the best books of 2012. Stefne Miller is a rising star in YA, and it's only a matter of time before she breaks big. I cannot wait to see what she will write next, whatever it is I will start counting down the days until it releases. Don't miss out on one amazing book, as the characters will charm you til tomorrow and the plot is absolutely entrancing.(less)

Cabot is an easy guy to like. He's a famous actor so he's rich and all the girls love him. He knows this and he knows that he is totally arrogant. She is very good (being a missionary and putting everyone else first) but she is easy to relate to and she doesn't treat anyone like they are beneath her. Being a missionary is her way of life but she's not preachy. It's just all she knows. Put these two together and they are hilarious. They are so totally different. However, they bring out the best in each other. Readers won't be able to help falling in love with them.

Technically, Collision is probably considered a new adult novel because Cabot is 23-years-old and Kei is 20-years-old. However the book reads like a young adult novel with it's fast pace, simple yet eloquent writing, and easy to relate to characters. I would definitely say this one is appropriate for young adult readers.

Kei is a missionary in Uganda and she does spread the word about what is going on in Africa. Honestly, I learned more about what's going on in Africa from this book than I have in school or on the news. Everything mentioned in the book is true and the author incorporates her own experience as a missionary in Africa. She doesn't sugarcoat things and at times they are brutal but there is always a glimmer of hope and the book is never depressing. Rather, it's uplifting and hopeful and I think it will make people think twice about things in Africa and also about missionaries.

The plot is not really fast-paced at first but it does not take time to get drawn into the story. Kei and Cabot's stories are both so unique and interesting. There is a bit of a mystery surrounding Kei that draws readers in. Also, readers will love them both so much that you won't want to stop reading until you find out if they get their happily ever after.

Overall, Collision is a must-read for contemporary fans (really for anyone.) Stefne Miller is such a talented author. I can't wait to see what she has in store next!(less)

Shelves: favorites

Some books make you laugh. Some books make you cry. Some books make you laugh out loud, yell back at them, and then make you sob uncontrollably until mascara streams down your face and you can't see because it's stinging your eyes so bad, but the tears just keep flowing because you can't help how emotional you are over what you just read. After reading Salvaged and Rise by Stefne Miller, I was convinced it would be impossible for her to come up with something better then these two stories. I love to be proven wrong!

I believe contemporary fans who read Young Adult and Adult novels alike, will love this story. It's one of the most inspirational stories I have read and I easily fell in love with Cabot and Kei from the start.

To say I love this book is an understatement. This book goes beyond the YA contemporary romance and brings so much raw emotion to the real world. I adored the romance, got swept away by the story, laughed, cried, and found myself inspired by the characters. This is now one of my favorite YA reads and Stefne Miller a new favorite author. I can not recommend this book enough. If you like contemporary romance but want something with its own brand of YA magic, pick up Collision.
