Aydan and Zane...where to begin. This is a tangled story of love and loss, sacrifice and revenge, good and evil. I have loved watching the development of Aydan, Nessa, Zane and Cass. And the new characters - well, I just love them too! All I can promise is that this is a story that will keep you wondering, hanging on edge of your seat until the bitter end. Some answers will be given, some relationships revealed. But it wouldn't be one of my stories without something unexpected. Just saying!

I would like to thank Christine Fonseca for giving me this book to read and review. It was wonderful, and I am just so sorry I didn't finish it faster.

Libera Me was a roller coaster of emotions that left me anxious, and gasping, and happy, and then on the next page heart broken. It was a story I could not predict where it was going, and what would happen next. It had so many different twists and turns and surprises.

I won a competition and won the novella Dies Irae (#0.5) and Lacrimosa (#1) and I have continued on the Requiem series by reading the Mea Culpa (#1.5). So when I found the Book Tour for the next instalment in the series, Libera Me, I was so on board!! Christine has continued the amazing journey of Aydan and Zane in this book and of course she has left me wanting more!

Christine has continued the amazing journey of Aydan and Zane in this book and of course she has left me wanting more!

Libera Me is an emotional journey for both characters in this book as they both believe that Nessa is Nesy reborn. But Nessa has no memories of any past lives and cannot believe that she is that person. But there are some things that she does that leads both guys to believe that Nesy is just hidden real deep in Nessa’s mind.

Zane takes it upon himself to help her remember. But Zane has to convince The Council of his plans, as well as deal with his own emotions. Aydan tries to convince her that he loves Nessa whether she has her memories or not. But Aydan has his own demons to fight and is not sure who he can trust anymore.

All of my favourite characters made appearances in this book too. Cass plays a big role, trying to anchor Zane. Gabriel and Mikayal try to guild Zane on the right path. But there is a major twist in the story and maybe a new player in the War between Angels and Demons!

Christine wove a brilliant story of love and friendship. She takes us into some dark aspects, but it all combines into an astonishing story that I found hard to put down. And she was able to shatter my heart by the end of the book. (I shed a few tears too!!)

I also had a vested interest in Libera Me as I got to name a character. He makes a small cameo role in this book and I was so excited to meet Tristan!! (Named after my Son!) But to top things off for the whole book, I was mentioned in the acknowledgements!! Can you believe it?? I was rendered speechless, and then I posted it everywhere!!

To Naomi ~ Thanks for loaning me “Tristan”; although nothing more than a cameo in this story, I have “seen” the story that lays ahead, and man...what an amazing character!

Now isn’t that mind blowing!! For us readers, not writers, it is a dream to get mentioned in a book.... So my dream has come true!! Thank you so much Christine for sharing Aydan and Zane’s story. It was truly incredible and I can’t wait for more!! (less)

I looked up the synopsis in Goodreads and noticed that this is actually book TWO of a series that has #0.5 Dies Irae, #1 Lacrimosa, and #1.5 Mea Culpa ALL prior to this one! And sadly I did not have the time to read those before this review. I must say though, even though I read them out of order I am quite intrigued and plan to start over, read in order and probably update this review! And then I will be ready for book 3 out of the bunch, Dominus!

Whew… that was a mouthful but I really needed to get that out before you read this review, which is still positive but I felt like I was missing so much and well yeah, having not read the previous three books I kind of feel like inserting a DUH moment here.

This book was really good though. It was like I was reading a character arc that just kept going and going and going! Then tension wasn’t building, the tension was massive from page one on, so thick you could literally cut it. It is a bit of a love triangle and I wasn’t sure who to cheer for not having the full information but honestly I wasn’t even sure if I trusted Nesy from the get go. Stuff happens, which is what is keeping that tension so thick, that just could not be explained easily. And I kind of just want to shake both guys and make them listen! But we know how love works and when you’re in love what you will do to save your loved one, even if it is from themselves!

And not only do you have just Nesy and this love triangle to worry about, there is sooo much more that I don’t totally understand yet. But I do know one thing the characters and the plot are really good. Definitely good enough to go back and see what I’m missing!

Also, something that doesn’t have to do much with the actual story line. I love the way Christine Fonseca writes. As I said I felt consistently throughout this book that this was at a level of intensity that from the beginning didn’t drop. I don’t know many authors that can consistently keep that up! It was brilliant and I can not wait to read more from her, starting with the first three!(less)

Once I finished reading Book One of The Requiem Series (Lacrimosa), I was at the edge of my seat.
The suspense of the last book was breathtaking and there were no stops, just breathless thrill.

I'm going to be honest, I had very high expectations for this book. I loved the first in the series, Lacrimosa, and expected to love this one even more. Alas, it feel short.

Pros:
-I really loved Zane's point of view, and his story was quite tragic. Definitely one of the more enjoyable aspects of the novel.

Another winner. This book certainly had me guessing all the way up to the end. Like Zane and Aydan I could never quite settle on if it was truly Nesy or not. This story was told from Zane and Aydan's P.O.V and like Nesy herself, we are left in the dark for what is happening with her and inside her head. Where to begin…

Let’s start with the cover. I love this new cover. It’s much better than the previous one, but although I do love it, I think I would have preferred less Nesy and more Zane. That may be the “Team Zane” in me talking. But truth is, whether the book had gained a new cover or not, I would have still read it since I’m already interested in the story and yes, because Zane has a bigger part in it.

As I’ve mentioned before, Christine Fonseca really has a way with words and this book was not an exception since it’s another beautifully written one. The book keeps a steady pace while it’s climbing up and setting up for those last chapters and there’s less action than in Lacrimosa, but this book didn’t really need it. Libera Me was more about discoveries and revelations, and possibly building up for the next book. That doesn’t mean the book is simply copy-paste from a previous installment or a “filler book”. It isn’t. There’s new characters, more elements are added to the story, and it has some twists that I honestly didn’t expect, like the identity of the evil smoke. That really was totally unexpected.

Libera Me has alternating points of view between Zane and Aydan and I love that. It was great getting to see things from Zane’s perspective and, this time around, he was the link to letting us know what was going in Celestium. I love Zane, although some times I wanted to smack him over the head and shake some sense into him. But most of the time, I just wanted to hug him because of all he was suffering. It was just heartbreaking. I knew he was right, he seems to be most of the time, but I still wanted him to just let go and worry about himself for once.

At the end of the book, I was really annoyed with Nesy, but I’m willing to cut her some slack… Aydan also pulled at my heartstrings a few times. Especially when he was battling against the monster inside him and although his fate was hinted at a few times in the book, I still felt the need to tell him, “Aydan, you are big boy aren’t ya?” *wiggles eyebrows*

Throughout the book, I was really suspicious of two characters, Caim, he’s the new boy on the block or at least he has a bigger part in Libera Me, and Cass. Caim is an interesting one. I would definitely like to know more about him and if his part in it all will be bigger. And well, I was suspicious of Cass because she always seemed to pop in at the “right” time. I was also wondering if she was stalking poor Zane.

I thoroughly enjoyed Libera Me’s emotional ride from both point of views. I do feel I learned more while reading Zane’s, but Aydan’s was just as emotional. They both have to fight their own personal demons, and I mean this literally, to be able save the person they love and that makes it all the more interesting. I will definitely be waiting for the next installment of this series.

Libera Me will have you holding your breath the entire time you read it. You will not exhale until you read the final sentence and even then you are left breathless and wanting so much more. Your mind will be spinning a million miles per hour, your heart will be pounding, you will be screaming and gripping the edge of your seat. And, even after all that, you will be experiencing all three characters falling apart and you can do nothing but find yourself falling in a tunnel of torment, your heart, shattering into a million little pieces. I swear to you that you will be as fragmented as Nesy, Aydan and Zane. These souls are so tortured and beyond despair, you find yourself feeling so much pain and anguish along with them. Half the time they don't know what is real or not. Their minds are being warped by Azza, by the smoke. But, what remains true through all of this confusion and turmoil is their love. Aydan's undying love for Nesy; Zane's sacrifice and love for Nesy. These two would stop at nothing to help Nesy find out who she really is. Unlock the memories that have been lost to her. It really is heart breaking and gut wrenching. I have come to realise that Christine Fonseca is the Queen of Torment. She really knows how to take you on a journey that will have you spiralling out of control but then ground you with just one breath of a word.

I really don't know what else to say. There is no need for me to go into detail about what happens in this story. There is just too much to even try to explain and I would not do it justice. All I do know is how I felt while reading this story that will keep you wanting so much more and needing to unravel the mystery of what is yet to come. I am now dying to get my hands on book 3 *I will it to be written now ;)* and I can seriously understand why Christine Fonseca was so torn between these two. My heart belongs to both Aydan and Zane. The sacrifices, the anguish, the horror, the love and the undying faith. They really would stop at nothing to do what is right for Nesy, no matter what the consequences. My heart ached for both of them and I just about nearly died a thousand deaths over and over again. Talk about torment.

If you loved Lacrimosa, I guarantee that you will love Libera Me just as much, if not more. And if you have yet to discover this series, I say run, don't dawdle to pick it up. This series is a must read and you will wonder why you ever waited to read it.
I know I have said this before and I will say it again, Christine Fonseca is an artist who has aspired to create a work that speaks volumes in love. This book is true poetry at it's best and I cannot wait to devour so much more. Love Love Love Love this book. Love this series. And, love Christine Fonseca. (less)

my self made hype and the excruciating amount of time I had to wait after reading Lacrimosa, this
book was every bit worth the wait. In fact I knew 4 pages in just how worth it, it was! Yeah I am
talking that good and then some. Although I hated the wait the end result was worth it and Christine has outdone herself...more Oh how I had dreamed about this day. The day that this beautiful book would end up in my
hands and I would get to page through it's glorious story. You want to know something? Despite
my self made hype and the excruciating amount of time I had to wait after reading Lacrimosa, this
book was every bit worth the wait. In fact I knew 4 pages in just how worth it, it was! Yeah I am
talking that good and then some. Although I hated the wait the end result was worth it and Christine has outdone herself once again. I was blown away and completely entranced in this novel and the amount of detail and thought that was once again poured into its pages.

The plot truly thickens in this novel. It's like everything you think you know you don't and everything you don't know can happen at the turn of a page. Things are really changing and not all of it for the better. Starting this book was like walking into everything I had wanted, to start. Aydan has found the one he believes to be Nesy and they seem to be working to help her remember. But there is more at play than the two of them as Zane now means more than anyone knows. It was heart breaking at times watching what everyone had to go through, had to fight for and what the results were for each individual.

This novel isn't as much about Nesy as it is Aydan and Zane. This is a huge change of pace and on that did wonders for this book. I did expect more from Nesy's pov but it totally worked without it every step of the way. Gone is the strong, sure and determined Nesy now anyways. She is a shell of her former self now that her memories are gone. There were times when she broke through it seemed but for the most part she is no longer herself and is confused. Well confused or denying who she could be, who she really is. It was sad to see her so lost and broken because she is such a pillar in the story but Christine as done this in such a way that I still love Nesy and still want to reach out to her.

Aydan is still struggling to loose his past and his past mistakes but he has grown. Boy has he ever grown and is becoming stronger than I ever imagined. Not that he was ever weak but his new persistence and devotion to Nesy is endearing. Though they had something previously this time around he tries more. He doesn't just push his worth away and believe that they aren't meant to
be. In fact this time around he has to fight for her and their future together. The strength and
determination that he has discovered within himself when I comes to her is wonderful. He does
make some mistakes though and it costs more than I though it would.

My wonderful Zane is a large part of this novel. I love Christine for having him be such a large part of the story and I know she didn't do it for me but she knew th affection I felt or Zane. It only deepens in his instalment and I found frequently my heart going out to him. He has given up so much just to save someone that doesn't know just how deep his feelings run. What he has lost cost him and he battles his own demons now, fights through what everyone now calls his weakness. But isn't that what we do for the ones we care about? No matter the consequence Zane continues to disobey orders and fight for the truth he believes in. In this aspect Zane has grown so much an become a more imporant part of everything and I just fell further for him. His pain though pulled at my heart much stronger and more than once I felt my chest constrict. Zane is who I fell for and so much more now.

I was left breathless and shocked many time as I read this book. The last 40% of the book refused to let me do anything but read. The 60% before that had pulled me in and captured every free moment of time I had. This includes being pulled into the kitchen with me while I cooked and through a minor break down when I ran out of power and had to stop to charge. There is so much I want to write in his review but can not find the right words. Truth be told I am so blown away that I'm not sure any words, including the ones already written can do it justice.

This work of art is just more proof of Christine Fonsca's brilliant mind. The writing is beautiful, fluent and absolutely mesmerizing. Even those that are wary of Angel novels will most likely love this book because it is so much more than just an Angel story. This is a book about friends, truths and the fight that we have within ourselves when it comes to love. If you haven't started this series I suggest you do and if you have I can say that I honestly believe you will love this one just as
much if not more than Lacrimosa.(less)

The sum of who we are is encapsulated by our memories and experiences giving us a sense of identity, an anchor to this life, What if you had no memories to draw upon, you would become lost and vulnerable, helpless even and Nessa is no different. I liked much better this book than the first one. I liked the different POVs because it gave a lot of background information that formed the characters quite well. AS always, Christine Fonseca writes beautifully and she is an amazing writer. I just felt it wasn't the book for me.

Libera Me is a darkly beautiful tale from beginning to end. An emotional roller coaster ride that left me with the need to call Christine a Master Weaver of Emotional roller coasters. Great job, Christine!

This book was ok it got confusing at times going back and for and from dream to reality the story was good it just would drag at time and it seems to run on the theory of the leading couple taking turns dieing and bringing them back

First and foremost, thank you Christine for providing a copy of this review. Secondly, thank you Christine for these characters and this world. Libera Me was exactly what I expected. Brilliant. How could it not be, I mean this is Aydan and Zane we're talking about. I loved the alternating viewpoints from Zane and Aydan. The heartbreak each of them felt was written so painfully clear. Aydan's confusion over what could be going on and Zane's inability to past what he wants to believe. I just love...more

Wow! Not at all what I was expecting. Aydan and Nesy can't get a break even when they are mortal.

This book has 2 POV's - Aydan and Zane.

Aydan thinks all is well now that he hs found his "Nesy" but Zane wants to make sure that this girl is really the love of both angel's lives.

Nessa just wants to remember and no one can be trusted or is who they seem to be.

The ending - well it's a big cliffhanger.

An emotional ride that kept me guessing at every turn, dip, and upside down whirl. It isn't often that an author can blow me away with the first book and then out-do themselves with the second and impress me even more, but that's what Christine has done. This novel will have you gripping your e-reader until your fingers are white. Love, sacrifice, redemption, damnation, hot angels and demons, it has it all and so much more!
