This long short story is essentially a prologue to a series of novels which are yet to be published. It has to be judged on that basis. Like the dramatic overture which used to play before the curtain opened at a the showing of an epic movie, this story stirs up your anticipation for what is to come. It tells a history of encounters with a Bigfoot-like monster (along with hints of ghostly apparitions and unholy ceremonies out in the woods). A nice story that leaves more to the imagination. I want to see the monster come out in current times. Great story, and I can't wait to read more.
