Four years ago, Mitch Lawson moved across the breezeway from Mara Hanover and she fell in love with the tall, good-looking police detective who had an uncanny ability to dress well even though he’s single. It was not a stalker kind of love; she knows she has no hope since Mitch is way out of her league. That doesn’t change the fact that he’s her dream man.

Then one day Mara...more

Dear Ms. Ashley

You probably don't know who I am, but pretty soon you will. Why, you ask yourself. Because I am going to kidnap Mitch Lawson and make him a part of my harem, of course. Now, I know nowadays harems aren't trendy, but as I was reading this book I realized I had a problem. There are just too many men I had already pledged to (including your fabulous heroes Brock and Ty), so I needed to think outside of the box. I realize having all those alpha men at the ready will be very c

Awesome, funny, sexy, poignant, exciting, sexy, awesome, sexy… Law Man, the third book in the Dream Man series is all kinds of greatness! Mitch Lawson is one of my absolute favorite KA heroes and I just adored Mara! She might be shy, but she’s no Shrinking Violet!!!

Besides the suspense of the story plot, there’s the sadness that comes with child neglect, and then the joy that comes from belonging to a family who chooses you, wants you, loves you… Kristen Ashley did a great job tackling some tou...more

Fantastic! I loved this book. Kristen Ashley created magic when she brought to life this heartfelt story and the amazingly swoonalicious hero,Mitch Lawson.

This book is chock-full of heart-and-soul. It has an emotional subject matter, humor, suspense, steamy romance, and very endearing characters. Well, Mara, the heroine, did annoy me for a portion of the book with her insecurity. I understand why she had such low self-worth, but I came to love her once she rea...more

GAWD I loved this book so much! There are many things that make this a great read but the reasons can be easily summarized in three words repeated over and over again: Detective Mitch Lawson. A Law Man and Dream Man extraordinaire, he is without a doubt my favorite Kristen Ashley alpha hero and one of the most swoonalicious, studtastic, heart thud inducing, and sigh-worthy heroes in Romancelandia. Seriously, Mitch is yummy husband hero material and utterly amazing...more

My soul sighed but my heart took flight.

Then his head came up, his sated, sexy eyes caught mine and he muttered, "Mornin'."

For Mara Hanover it's a futile exercise being in love with Mitch Lawson. Afterall, he's totally out of her league. On a scale of one to ten, he's a ten point five. In Mara's estimation she's a two point five. Besides, she's shy and from the wrong side of the tracks. She's lived in the apartment near to his for four years and loved the tall, handsome police detective with the...more

WOW! Another amazing read by Kristen Ashley!

My hastily written thoughts b/c RL calls:)

Detective Mitch Lawson - I don't know if I have the words! I first met him in Mystery Man. I started falling then. It wasn't deep; - purely superficial lust!

And then he gets his own story - and now there are all kind of emotions I'm feeling! Lust is one of them - yeah! And ladies, who wouldn't?! This man is very nice eye candy! Just the mention of those shoulders and packed abs will make you swoon! Intense – o...more

4.5 stars.

Law Man brought with it lots of swooning, lots of "awwwwh"-ing, lots of contented sighing and lots of tummy whooshing. When I first met Detective Mitch Lawson along with Gwendolyn in Mystery Man, I thought I was in love. Wavy chestnut hair, soulful eyes, strong, silent type... *dreamy eyes*. I had no freaking idea. Give the guy the spotlight in his own story and I was damn near apoplectic.

Mitch lives in the same apartment complex as Mara Hanover, a shy wallflower type who...more

“Mara, I’m keepin’ you safe. I’m keepin’ those kids safe and you don’t have a choice in that, sweetheart. Thats just the way it’s gonna be… I was made to protect you and you were made in the way that it would always be worth it.” ~Mitch

Oh *swoon*, Mitch has stolen my heart!! Seriously hot, family oriented, loving, swoony, drool-worhty badass Alpha cop

I’ll be honest, the first 70% of the book was a 4 star read for me, but the last 30% was fully 5 stars!

Excuse me while I *sigh* for the wonderful Detective Mitch Lawson. I swooned the entire way through this book. He's a little softer around the edges than all the other KA heroes I've read, but that doesn't make him less perfect. Mitch is 100% alpha-male!

Living across the breezeway from Mitch, for 4 years, has been both heaven and hell for Mara. One, because the painfully shy woman has fancied herself in love with the yummy detective. Two, she doesn't believe she's good enough for him. And, thre...more

Mara - description

I enjoyed this book. I loved when Mitch told Mara over and over, "Baby, get their shit. All of it."

I also loved, "If I'm your Mitch then you're my Mara" and "If they make it out of this alive, they're mine."

I adored Mitch and again, a kick ass epilogue.

Mitch said to Billy
"What I mean is, I didn't fall in love with you all as a whole. I fell in love with each of you because of who you are. I don't care about you because you come with Mara. I care about you because you're a good kid. You're smart. You're loyal. And you love and look out for your sister and Mara. I know grown men who do not have a character as fine as yours. Those are the reasons I love you. There are different reasons I love Billie. And there are different...more

I really enjoyed this one. Yes, Mara had her head up her butt... like the whole book. It was cute for the first chapter, but then got old kinda fast. Overall, nice romance story. I liked that it was a whole 'family' thing, and not a 'usual' family at that. I almost wished the romance wouldn't have taken so long to get to 'the good stuff' but then again the anticipation of sealing the deal had it's merit.

Overall, if you enjoy alpha male vanilla romances with witty dialogue, and even some action-...more

2nd read was just as good as the first. I had so much fun buddy reading with Jenn and Wendy.

Mitch is by far one of my favorite Kristen Ashley. I can't gush over him enough. He is such a sweet gentle man. I adored the way he was with the kids. Just jumping right in with no questions asked and becoming a father figure. Made me swoon even more.

Mara got on my nerves with her rating scale however I understood why she was the way she is. I am glad that Mitch finally got through her shell and dragged...more

Okay, I'm calling this one quits at 70% in and don't soon plan to pick up another Kristen Ashley book. Law Man was my third attempt to determine whether or not KA could branch away from the similar characters (obnoxious neanderthal heroes and meek heroines), plot, and dialogue, and I'm afraid that didn't happen here. I don't like to book-bash, but I just couldn't believe that the writing for these books was so painfully similar. I thought there'd be something new and different if I tried a diffe...more

Mitch Lawson has to be the absolute sweetest, classiest alpha in all of KA's many bks. Move over Tate Jackson...you've got competition at the top of the heap. Adored Mitch and Mara in this story about love and family. After reading the teaser on the author's website I was prepared to dislike Mara. I know KA's bks have a common theme of the resisting h and the hot alpha in pursuit. Glad to say I was so wrong about Mara. She definitely has issues and there were valid reasons for the way she feels...more

The third addition in the Dream Man series by Kristen Ashley. This story focuses on police officer Mitch Lawson and his neighbor, Mara Hanover. Mara has crushed on Mitch for years but he's a 10.5 and she considers herself only a 2.5. Poor Mara suffers from some deep self-esteem issues. I could relate with her anxiety to a degree as I, myself, suffered from shyness and low self-esteem for many years. That didn't prevent me from getting a bit angry with Mara's attitude as she continued to fight Mi...more

I feel shame.

-----

I really didn’t care for Mara too much. She had major ass confidence issues – too many to count.

Mitch was cool. What killed me (the most) was the plot moppets. God bless! The damn reason that Mitch and Mara slept in the bed together for the first time was due to a plot moppet screaming. The reason that Mitch had a “better” excuse to hang around more was due to a plot moppet. Save me from plot moppets.

The heroine didn’t get kidnapped this...more

When Mitch Lawson moved across from Mara Hanover's apartment four years ago, she knew then he was the man she loved. In those four years, Mara stayed her distance trying not to purposely run into Mitch and admiring him from afar.

Mitch has been waiting for a chance to get to know Mara, but she has had clear signs of hands off, first with a boyfriend and then mending her heart, until one day he sees something that says it is time. What is set to be their first date, ends up foiled, their second d...more

I seriously went psycho-stalker on KA's Facebook waiting for the release and let me just say Mitch OWNED this book. He is one yummy man I wish was real. *sigh*

Mara, what shall I say about you? Well for one she was not my favorite character because her low self esteem and insecurities became so overdone and frankly annoying. I mean annoying to the point of shut the hell up, you have smoking hot guy Mitch wanting to sex you up then save you and your cousins. ENOUGH ALREADY! However when she final...more

Enjoyed it very much,Loved Mitch so so much and Billy-Billie adore them the only thing frustrated me was Mara's constant negative thoughts about herself and doubting her-Mitch's relationship, cause of fear of losing him she pushed him away but after so many hurdles and issues they finally manage to become a "beautiful close loving family"and these two get their HEA.

Overall a good read

FANTASTIC!

Where am i? I'm at work! But I just finished Mara and Mitch's story.. and i can't help but gush about it!

I am positively hyped up. I love MARA and MITCH (mnm's!! ^_^). As expected, with Kristen Ashley.. she really has a knack for creating fresh, vibrant and beautiful characters. Mara is unique! pretty much different from all heroines in contemporary romances i have read. I love her personality. She's a dork or so she says everytime. Kristen Ashley does it again - a huge 5+ stars!!

Congratulations Mitch!!! Your off-the-charts good looks coupled with your incredibly sweet yet deliciously alpha (and therefore super sexy) personality have garnered you a much-coveted nomination for "Best Hero Ever in a Contemporary Romance Novel". Not many heroes are both sigh- and swoon-worthy but you, sir, are the total package!

First off, I love the Dream Man series. Kristen Ashley has packed these books with hot guys with guns who take care of their women and their families. These men will bleed for them, wear themselves out, work hard and always make sure they're safe. Like Mitch says;

"You live bad, sweetheart, you taste good, you'd do anything to keep it. You know that."

Kristen Ashley has the ability to take natural human functions and make them sexy, light in the eyes, intake of breath... it's more than that. Mitc...more

I can pretty much sum up what i loved about this book in one word:
Mitch. I loved him to pieces and was super excited to read his book.

Unfortunately, with as much as I loved Mitch, I really didn't like Mara. At all. I realize she had a lot of issues she was dealing with, but her wishy-washy personality and constant "uh...","um..."'s drove...me...crazy. Yes she had a wacky family, but with the exception of Billy & Billie (loved them, despite the names), they didn't feel like the kin...more

I LOVED the beginning of the book, with Mara's intense shyness and awkwardness and insecurity. I loved her rating system and pining after her neighbor. It was geared up to be one of my favorite tropes, but I think it just got too serious. Also, it turns out that she is not overweight or plain really, just insecure about coming from a "trashy" family, which is a bit less interesting to me but still made for some decent angst. I think it just went on too long. After the relationship got settled, I...more

This was beautiful <3 Even better than the first read :) I can't say how much I loved Mitch, this was a great story. Although Mara is supposed to be the main character I just found myself drawn to Mitch more, he's the backbone of the novel, and his love for her and the kids at the end had me crying all over <3 just beautiful <3

Mara - Well here's a girl with serious self-esteem issues. She lived in her head and has everyone classified from 1 to 10. She thinks of herself as a 2,5, thus be...more

This is my 3rd KA book and the characters in this series just keep getting better and better. Here we have Mitch and Mara who I just fell in love with over and over again. Let's start with Mara....at first I found her rating system just plain funny, then I was kinda annoyed by it because I do not like when heroines have low self-esteem and don't believe they are worthy of their hero. But here KA made it work and made me see how her back story made her the way she is; thus I grew to love Mara des...more

I was very happy to see this book was about Mitch, after MM I wanted to get to know him better. Mitch proved to be everything I hoped for and more. I loved his interaction with the kids and how he was able to draw out Mara. At first I wasn't sure I was going to like Mara at all she was too shy and insecure for me. However as the book went on I grew to like her alot, still not my fave heronine but still good. I was also happy we get a POV from Mitch throughout the book just not in the epilogue. A...more

I'm re-reviewing this book. I think I'm a bit fed up with the heroine being extremely shy and barely having any self esteem as Mara is. So,I didn't enjoy reading her portion of this book. I did thoroughly enjoy Mitch the alpha male cop who waited 4 years for the opportunity to date her. Once he got his oppurtunity he did not waste it while Mara had no faith in the possibility of their romantic relationship working because of a rough childhood. GRRR! This really frustrated me because she did this...more

“I love you, Bud," he whispered to Billy and two more tears escaped.
"I love you too, Mitch," Billy whispered back, my breath hitched and both males' eyes came to me.
I waved my wineglass at them and murmured, "Don't mind me. Have your moment."
Mitch leaned back, letting Billy go and grinning at me. "Men don't have moments."
"You do," I returned. "I'm witnessing one."
"This isn't a moment, honey, it's a meeting of the minds," Mitch contradicted me.”
