Early in this book, Bob Wilson makes the point that spatial analysis is rarely discussed in the general zooarchaeology texts. I was astonished to realise that, 16 years later, I think that's probably still the case. Why so?

Wilson proposes a model here for the spatial patterning of bones on archaeological sites which he sees as cross-cultural and timeless. It's an entirely functional approach to the subject and, like all of his work it's both well written and argued from a position of good sense.
