A nice little story, but I doubt it will stand out in my memory

PROS:
- The characterization is solid right from the start. Myles creates a picture of her main guys quickly, with just a few descriptive phrases: “if there was anything Felix didn’t know about charming gay and bi-curious men it could probably be written on a condom packet with space to spare for a fe...more

Full disclosure: I received this book for free in exchange for some volunteer editing I did for a project the author is working on. Pretty sure I would have liked it just as much if I'd paid for it.

Both of the main characters were interesting people in their own right, and not two people you would immediately picture as being together. That's one thing I like about Josephine's books: that intersection of individuals with two completely different perspectives on life.

I liked how both Felix and An...more

Felix is on a mission to impress his art tutor at College so that his tutor will want to bed him. In order for this to happen he enlists the help of Andrew, a fashion student, to make a suit for him. Andrew is reluctant at first because he finds Felix's slutty ways a bit too much but eventually agrees. Both men are surprised at how well they get on with each other and Felix finds himself thinking less about his tutor and more about Andrew.

I have to admit, I wasn't too sure when I first started t...more

Tailor Made is the story of two men who are both uncompromising in the way they’ve chosen to live their respective lives. They each stand firmly on opposing principals—Felix, the unapologetic manslut, and Andrew, the virgin who prefers to save himself for the one he deems as the perfect catch—until, that is, they meet and ultimately learn that oftentimes the heart is a force with which the libido can't compromise.

Josephine Myles has artfully stitched together a story (wink, wink) that immediatel...more

Tailor Made is one of the better college m/m stories. In general I like this theme best when the heroes are both students and there’s no professor or teacher in the mix because I usually don’t like the dynamics that sort of unequal relationship entails. So, I’m glad that we have tw...more

Josephine Myles has a way of taking characters, who at first blush for me seem rather annoying and obnoxious and then making me fall in love with them. Felix is that characters. He’s brash, uses offers of sex to get what he wants and doesn’t make any bones about it. When he tries to strike a deal with fashion design student Andrew, he figures sex is a great exchange for a suit he can use for one of his wacky fine arts final projects. He’s a bit taken aback by the fact that Andrew doesn’t really...more

I love this author’s work! She is able to bring two men who are as different as night and day together and make beautiful sweet man love. So is the case with Tailor Made, we have the fantabulous tart Felix and the virginal and shy Andrew. What both men have in common is that they attend the same art school and they are both set in their ways when it comes to how they live their life.

Felix is a manslut and he just does not care, he doesn’t pretend to be something he is not. He has been lusting af...more

Tailor Made is a great mix between humor and undeniable heat between the two main characters;. Add some major differences in how each of the main characters approaches relationships (or run from them, in Felix’s case), and you end up with a delightful story about adapting your life to reality, and learning to drop ideas and principles which suddenly seem outdated in the light of finding the man you love.

Felix is an art student in his third year who is on his way to becoming a conceptual artist i...more

This was a sweet book about Felix, an arts student who wants to use his final project to seduce his tutor Saul. To do this he needs the help of design student Andrew. Andrew is a virgin and waiting for Mr Right. Felix and Andrew find out that even though they seem very different they go really well together and have great fun together. Felix also thinks that he can help Andrew by teaching him some things so that he is ready for Mr Right. Soon they realize that tutors and Mr Rights may not be wha...more

Art student Felix McAvoy needs the perfect piece to impress his tutor, so he decides to have a suit made out of canvas he can use in an outrageous display. Felix is quite the party boy and used to being able to seduce guys into getting what he wants, so he figures he'll have no trouble convincing straight-laced design student Andrew Wheeler to create one for him. Despite Felix shaking his ass at Andrew and flirting outrageously, Andrew...more

This was a very cute novella as part of the Hot College Daze collection. Felix McAvoy is a shameless flirt but he's not a tease because he's willing to put out. His latest conquest is his art tutor but in order to impress him, Felix has to come up with a grand artistic concept for his final project. In order to make this creation come to life, Felix needs someone to create a suit for him, so he goes to design student, Andrew Wheeler. Andrew Wheeler initially has no interest in helping Felix who...more

LOVED this story! I was pretty sure it would somehow have an HEA but couldn't predict the path to it. Great character development. Watching both Felix and Andrew grow, in different ways, was the point of the story. I wanted to throttle one character and loved it when that character got a well-deserved comeupance. Fair warning to American readers - have a British slang reference nearby. The story won't be spoiled without it but knowing what common words means over there versus what they means her...more

This review was originally written for The Romance Reviews and can also be found there.

Witty English humor, snappy men and easy flowing stories are slowly becoming Josephine Myles's trademark. Arts of any kind appeal to her and with her mind set on a particular subject, there are no limits to what she can do.

Felix is an art student on his last year who has to make a final project. He wants to impress a professor he has a crush on and isn't below offering himself to achieve it. Andrew is a first...more

Felix McAvoy is an art student who has been crushing on his art tutor, Saul, for a while now. He doesn’t think Saul has noticed him at all, even though he has made a point of creating project after project that certainly has Felix standing out and getting noticed by the art community. So, for his final project he is determined to do something that Saul will not be able to ignore. Felix decides that he will be the art; he will be the canvas in a rather questionable display. In order to do this, t...more

A very entertaining and sweet short novel about an aspiring art student and a down to earth fashion student. Felix, the artist, is a party boy and only looking for the next lay, with a crush on one of his professors, when he meets Andrew whose help he needs for a project. Andrew is rational and somewhat shy, but very intrigued by the experienced Felix. Both characters are very likable and though the whort length of the novel it is NOT insta-love - high five for that!

3.5 stars. Excellent short romance about a bad guy reformed by love. Felix McAvoy is an inrrepressibly slutty and worldly art student who needs to create a cutting edge artwork for his attractive professor. He turns to the honourable, virginal, fashion student Andrew to make him a suit which will be the canvas for his work. But Andrew's inexperience and intensity are more appealing than Felix expected and he finds himself reconsidering his beliefs. Lovely setting and really appealing couple.

fun and mostly fluffy read, just what I needed. Enough plot to make it interesting, nice characters - which were stereotypes, but I guess that's been done on purpose here. And the sex scenes were actually not bad either.

So much better than the last M/M romance stories I've read, I was close to give up on them and go back to fanfiction, but this one has restored my faith in authors and editors in this genre

I really enjoyed this. There was a rich vein of humour that kept me chuckling all the way through. Felix was so cocky and full of himself, but managed not to stray into arrogance, while Andrew started off so straight-laced, gradually loosening up under Felix's subversive influence. Saul was deliciously loathesome and I was delighted to see him get his comeuppance at the end.

Gosh, I really didn't like Felix, he was superficial and bad. His motto was, I will get it even if being a slut in the eye of the world, was the key. He played the slutty part well and I didn't like his personality. But then the Andrew was thinking with his little head and I guess that's love at the end. The little guy talks. This wasn't story for my taste.

This book was the perfect little read. Sexy fun characters that I became attached to despite the number of pages (83) in this story. I love reading about a slut who finds his man. This book had me laughing and left me feeling pretty damn good. I'd love to read another story with Andrew and Felix :-D

Cute and adorable story about the "slutty" art student and the "prim and proper" fashion student. Felix is unapologetic and he makes me smile for his way of trying to coax Andrew out of his shell. It's a case of opposite attract, resulting in a nice read.

I am really enjoying Ms. Myle's work. I read her first long boat book, and I have her second on my TBR. This was not a longboat book, and I was still hooked from the start. Very likable MCs and sexy, enjoyable tension. I loved every minute.
Kris
Enjoyed the symbolism and imagery of the 'suit canvas' Andrew created for Felix. Totally loved the comeuppance received by the art tutor at the end. That's one of the things that took it to 3 stars for me. I'm nasty like that.
Chris
Sweet and smutty m/m romance about an unapologetically slutty art student who wants to get his advisor in bed. But he's not expecting to find himself so drawn to the fashion student he tries to shanghai into helping him with his senior project...
Hannah
This was a cute, comfortable read. It was very light and predictable, but that was exactly what I was in the mood for today. Unfortunately, my enjoyment was severely marred by formatting issues which should have been addressed before the ebook was released. I'll think twice before buying from this publisher again.

A shot, but satisfying story. Felix is wicked yet honest and Andrew is his perfect complement - reserved yet curious and warm.

Great to read about arty types. Wished it had been longer really.

I enjoyed this contemporary m/m novella. The focus was on the characters, with little else in the way of plot, but it worked for me as a quick read. Sweet and sexy with very appealing MCs..
Kathy
loved the relationship between Felix and Andrew, the way it grew surprising both of them, especially Felix. hadn't read a college romance in a while, and really enjoyed this one.

Another good read from Jo Myles, if you like her quirky humour and style, you'll like this one too.
A tale of two university students who trade modelling favours - of different varieties. Felix is flamboyant, Andrew is more contained, waiting for Mr Right.
As expected, the story contains lots of humourous situations. Felix and Andrew develop their relationship, have some bumps in the road and it all comes right in the end!

English through and through, Josephine Myles is addicted to tea and busy cultivating a reputation for eccentricity. She writes gay erotica and romance, but finds the erotica keeps cuddling up to the romance, and the romance keeps corrupting the erotica. She blames her rebellious muse but he never listens to her anyway, no matter how much she threatens him with a big stick. She's beginning to suspe...more
