This is one book that you will not regret reading.
I was hooked almost immediately in the first book, and now I cannot seem to stop reading. Imagine my disappointment when I discovered this was the last book in the series. However, throughout the duration of the book there was no hint that the series was coming to an end. The action never stopped, the tears never stopped flowing, and attention was never lost. By the time that most series come to an end it is usually blaringly obvious. Weatherford did an absolutely amazing job of concealing her intent until the last pages, and even then there was an unexpected twist. The ending was purely genius, indescribable, unexpected. That’s all I can say without giving away some of the best kept secrets of these books.
Vance and Portia face some of their biggest and most difficult challenges yet in this book. Blood lust takes over and everything that was thought to be good is now evil. Nothing is as it seems and the entire book seems to be a paradox of sorts. However, the young everlasting love that was instilled in the first book is never lost. Vance continues to be the resident bad boy and Portia the girl with all the secrets. Teenagers and young adults of all sorts can connect and relate to the characters in this book. You feel as if you are part of the story, hating the evil characters and falling in love with the good. The emotions portrayed on the page are transferred to your heart and you feel just as Portia and Vance feel. By the end of this book I am positive you will feel your eyes start to mist over and your heart begin to leap out of your chest.
This book, this series, will make you believe in magic and true love. This book not only changes your view on life and death, but on how life and love should be treated. Teenage romance is no longer a simple game that everyone plays; no moment should be taken for granted. Death turns from a diluted illusion to a harsh reality. Magic proves to be both good and evil. Weatherford develops Vance and Portia from two teenagers who know nothing of the world, to full-fledged witches and warlocks, and adults capable of making adult decisions. Being able to relate to these characters is an understatement.

This series,as a whole, has been a wonderful story and Possession of Souls was a fabulous ending to it. As with the others in the series, Lacey has a way of drawing her readers in and holding them hostage until the very last word. While I was very happy to see the Coven welcoming Vance back among them (not with them again but just as a friend and family) and I was happy to see Vance becoming his old self again there was also a lot that I wasn't happy with at the end! On the plus side, Damien is well and truly gone! He lost the awakening himself and was killed for good! Also Vance, while still a demon, is back to his old self and has regained most of his humanity to the point he's doing good with his powers now and is back at school and holding down a job, so a lot of the dreams he thought were lost to him are coming true, plus he still has Portia but she no longer has any magic because he had to take it away to save her. I love that we got Vance's narration at the end, he may have started the series as the opening prologue of the first book was in his view but everything between that first opening prologue and the end of this book has been Portia's narration. However the end of this makes me wonder if maybe they'll get another series? The very last line just made me wonder if Portia was getting her magic back and what that meant for them? Is she going to go demon again or is she cured and does that mean they can cure Vance and return to the coven again? I kinda hope that there is another series even if it's short, prehaps from Vance's viewpoint where he is cured once and for all. As for a lot of the other characters, I'm happy how things worked out for them as well, except Portia's dad who sacraficed himself to save them all and destroy Damien. I would definetly recommend this book and the series. I was worried that Vance and Portia wouldn't survive together or be together so I'm really glad to see that their love did survive and they are still a couple, after all regardless of magical abilities soulmates are soulmates and those two are definetly soulmates!(less)

I have to say, this last book was my least favorite. I still loved the series and wouldn't trade having read them, but the resolution of the plot was a bit sudden, unexpected and a little too dark for my taste. It was like an almost-happy ending, and I really dislike those. Most people would likely say something about realism, but I read to escape. From the beginning of the series.Vance was and still the most selfish, obnoxious, stupid person in the story, the most antipathetic character I ever stumbled into....
If I were Portia, I would've killed the bastard in book 02, and kept cursing the day I lay my eyes on him.

My thoughts:
Damien is back, Shelly is psychic, Brad is still human, Vance is still a demon, and Portia is still trying to save him. The tables turn and now it's Vance's turn to save Portia. Can he make the biggest sacrifice of all? Do NOT miss out on this thrilling, action-packed finale.

I hate to review books from series alone--especially when it is a series like this--if you judge a book alone, it is going to be a bad review. But the story in this series is really good, it is just the writing that is mediocre. I mean, really bad. **sniff** Possession of Souls is the last installment of the series but I must say another fantastic read.
Portia and Vance have been to hell and back and through it all their love conquers all.
I loved the ending to the series I was on pins during the last chapter and the epilogue, although I loved reading from Vance's point of view it was fitting that it started in book one from his POV and ended with that. I didn't like the previous book in the series, the character of Vance was completely ruined. I really enjoyed the first 3 books but when she turned Vance into a total jerk it ruined the reason to root for them as a couple. Of Witches and Warlocks by Lacey Weatherford

Where to start with this amazing book series? It has witches, it has warlocks, it has demons and soul mates, romance and sexy encounters and absolutely swoon worthy men. What is not to love? Christmas day 2011 I was given a kindle fire. Being a fan of books about Witches I simply searched the word “Witch” and I stumbled upon Lacey’s First book “The Trouble with Spells”. After buying the book I spent the better part of that day eating up the story and dying for more I purchased the rest of the series.

Through out this series you are introduced to Portia and Vance a couple of kids with wicked powers who just can’t seem to catch a break. When all seems well in there lives, well Lacey just throws you another curve ball and your left asking yourself “what the Hell just happened here!?”. Each page is riddled with delicious romance, and action that could require CPR. If just reading about Vance didn’t already stop your heart that is.

After discovering she is a Witch Portia Mullins is thrown through a series of loops while she basks in learning about magic and becomes better aquatinted with the mysterious Vance Magnum life is good. But not for long, Without giving to much away, Portia has to learn how to use her powers to save the ones she loves and even when the storm calms its not over through out the series she has to deal with the death of coven members the betrayal and redemption of her best friend and the person she loves most falling into the hands of dark magic. Vance turned demon by his father must battle his inner darkness and conquer his instincts in order to save the one he loves and in the end have what they always dreamed of.

This series is a pure work of art, I am not joking when I say you need to go out and read these books. Whether you own a kindle or your would rather have a paperback novel in your hands the books are available in both formats. You will laugh with the characters cry with them, feel there joy and even though its all over you’ll go on your knees to Lacey begging for more.

The books are honestly so good that two months later the final line of her last book still rings in my head.(less)

I rounded the rating up because after 4 books (this being the 5th) I couldn't take it any more.

The twists add to this book series stopped being quite so original, though they did get you emotionally. As the final book in the series, things really get tough and there is no sacrifice too small. Oh goodness this series has been one crazy ride and I have absolutely loved it! So much happened in this book: happy and sad. I was a little worried about where this would go, but in the end I loved it. There were a lot of twists and turns and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. This was a roller coaster of a ending. So much happens in this book that you just have to read it to believe all the things that happen. There is so much anger, frustration and tears throughout this last book that I wanted to just toss the book out. I won't say how the book ends, but I can honestly say I was surprised. This whole series was very nicely written and I really enjoyed it. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

As with the other books in this series, I flew through this book. I won't give the ending away but I was both happy and sad at the way the series ended. My biggest hope is that Ms. Weatherford will write another sequel in this series as it appears (to me) that she has left the door open for that to happen. I loved this series and would highly recommend it for anyone who likes magical or paranormal fiction. I just would like MORE books from this author!!

I can't tell you how many tissues I snotted in over this book. It is still hard to type a review without getting a lump in my throat. Sooooooooo good! Exciting, nail-bitting, addicting, unbelievable!!
I still am unsure if I am happy with the ending. Weatherford took the story in unpredictable directions. WOW!

My eyes burned begging me to go to bed but I just could put this book down! This is a must read series!

Really loved loved loved this series, but hated the ending in book 5 as it's supposed to be the last book yet she left it more than open fore more to come. If there was something to critize it's how lovey the book get's with all the "I Love You's" repeating more throughout the book than maybe and, if and but. However with that said, I truly enjoyed the series and would read again.

I thought this book was just Awesome! I truly loved the whole series and this was a great ending. I loved that Vance and Portia remained strong and together thru this whole book. I loved the way Lacey had these characters grow from beginning to end. It would be nice to have a short novella out on Vance and Portia in regards to the ending of this book.

I loved the series but the thing that really annoys me is that there is a massive question hanging in my mind about the ending. Has portia regenerated her magic and will there be a sequel because if there isn't going to be one. Then I have to say I'm going to hate the ending. Period.

No loose ends left, which is always a positive.

My only query is - would a mobile/cell phone really work in a cave? But that little point doesn't ruin the story.

I kind of keep forgetting that these books are about witches. I mean, they drink blood. I keep thinking more like vampires.

It was kind of nice to see the cutesy little happy ending. It was so sweet.

I love these books, but I was just happy to finally see a happy ending for Portia and Vance, even with all the losses.

OMV (OH MY VANCE). I just finished reading this and I couldnt be more in love with Vance Magnum than Iam right now. His character in this book made my heart swoon. Portia and Vance have been through so much together and to see them progress in this book on so many levels was great. And the ending OH THE ENDING!!!! I laughed I got teary eyed and in the end I was overjoyed with how it ended..
