I really liked the story, the idea and how they were developed throughout the book. There were enough action, dark scenes and light hearted moments to make the whole book quite enjoyable. The only thing that left me wanting more and less at the same time was the romance side of it all.
I didn't really like the way the heroine seems lacking of common behaviour-reading skill and knowledge of her own feelings and how said feelings are swayed from Kell to Dev. This makes her look a bit flim...more

When you are the only blonde-haired, blue-eyed person in town you know you are going to draw attention to yourself, not always good attention, but attention none the less. Add the ability to use magic into the mix and you know why you have the nickname Trouble. Arden works for her uncle at his inn, not by choice but by honor to the family, unfortunately Arden gets to serve the riff-raff at the inn that no one else wants to deal with. I had noticed this book due to the pretty cover, I decided to read it out of loyalty to another author whose books I dearly love. The summary for this book is a dead ringer for Lisa Shearin's "Magic Lost, Trouble Found." Luckily there were less similarities than I feared. This was more of a romance than a fantasy, you get a lot of wasted pages from the heroine's POV and her 2 menfolk. Oh the angst, the lust, blah blah. I really enjoyed this story. The characters are well written and each one makes you want the best for them I caught myself thinking yikes I don't know who I want to win the girl in the end because I like them both even loku. This series is going to be interesting.
A Soul for Trouble is the first book in the Soulbearer series by Crista McHugh. Ms. McHugh is a new author to me so I didn’t know what to expect when a friend recommended this book. If I could, I would give this book 3,5 stars. But that is not possible and for me it was closer to 3 stars than to 4. But 3 very enjoyable stars.

Truly an amazing book with a good magic and god system, the humor is also really good, it made me smile the whole way through
I received this First Reads book free from Goodreads. I had never read a fantasy and paranormal novel before I read "A Soul For Trouble" and I was a little hesitant about how I would like the novel. A Soul for Trouble is a truly amazing book filled with magic, mythology, suspense and a bit of humor thrown in. Trouble (Arden Lesstymine) really lives up to her nickname in this book. She is always finding herself in trouble with or without the help of Loku the God of Chaos.

I absolutely loved this book, though there were some things about it I didn't care for. I thought that overall the author came up with a very creative plot and some great, very detailed characters.

I just read this book as well as the second book in the trilogy, A Soul for Chaos. I liked the fantasy element of both books a lot and I wish that the author had focused more heavily on Arden developing her powers and less on the love triangle that wasn't really much of a triangle. Still it was a fun and fast read and I appreciated being able to buy both books for .88 on Amazon.
I was thrilled with this book. I liked the writing and the characters and the plot. What more could you ask for. This was a book I picked up blindly, not knowing what to expect and it pretty much grabbed me from the start and I had a terrible time putting it down as I wanted to see what happened next.

What can I say? This book is addictive! I decided to start reading it before I went to bed. Big mistake!! I had to keep reading until I finished it, no matter I couldn't keep my eyes open! :) So excited for book 2 to come out!!

This book may actually be good but I couldn't get past how much was centered on sexual desire and I am not a fan of people being forced to have sex so I just had to put it down.
Good book! love the chemistry between Trouble and Dev and Kell but needed some sex to make it perfect. Hopefully the next book will take that step :)

Loved it! The humor of the God of Chaos, Loku inhibiting a female body for the first. Imagine having a male knowing your thoughts & feelings during an intimate moment. I loved both Arden & Dev & reading how their feelings for each other developed.
