First of all,I gotta tell ya: No one,no one,has humour like Steele does.No one. He's sarcastic, witty, quirky, snappy and he kills with his comebacks.Kills?Gosh, the guy's ridiculously and amazingly creative when it comes to comebacks. His mind must be working 24/7,he ALWAYSALWAYSALWAYSALWAYS had a comeback.

I just finished re-reading this one, and thought I'd add a quick review.

I really enjoyed the story, the characters, the whole set-up. It definitely isn't as steamy as most of Kenyon's work, but I don't think that's any reason to criticize the book. The chemistry between the characters is definitely still there. In fact, it's even hotter between some of the secondary characters! Even the BAD (ha, bad pun) acronym is forgivable.

However, there were a couple of loose strings that I wish were tied...more

I usually am not into romantic suspense. I started this book because I wanted to post the review of this book and the next book with a later giveaway. I was pleasantly surprised by this book. When I read a book I do it to relax, it may be part of my job as a blogger but I am unable to tear a book apart piece by piece and analyze every nuance of every single character and situation. I would go nuts and I would hate reading. I read this as a normal consumer, one that is mildly educated and wants a...more

Kenyon really let me down with this one. Textbook progression of Syd and Steele’s romance aside, not only was the plot weak, but Kenyon pulled the old “introduce the bad guy at the last minute” gag. One minute Syd and Steele have the assassin in handcuffs, and in the very next page they’re getting married and the assassin has been hired by B.A.D. I know fiction doesn’t always have to make sense, but this strained my credulity a little too far.

This novel was from the BAD series, using 2 agents in the main storyline. I always liked the "should I shouldn't I, oh what the hell" type romance. Plus adding action u can feel. It's like "oh my we saved each other back there...take me!" But there is also the emotional aspect that a good author (like Kenyon) can weave into the story and make u care and before u know it ur thinking on a deeper level with the characters.

I really liked this one! I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about Steel or Syd when I started but that changed quickly. I love both of them. This was the first full-length story of this series and I wondered how it would all play out. We got lots of Carlos, whom I already completely adore and more of Joe and The as well. They need to just get it over with and fuck like bunnies now. Seriously, I want a Joe/The book. Back to Syd and Steele. I love that he broke through her defenses without even...more

I read this book for the sole reason of reading how Sherrilyn Kenyon did with contemporary romance books, and it truth, when you compare it to her other books, this one was...kinda "meh". I loved Steele though I honestly expected more of her character Syd. You'd think she'd be more bad ass and in the know-how being a BAD agent and all instead of being ignorant half the time in the book. And the ending was point in blank disappointing. I mean, the twist to the culprit was a surprise. I didn't min...more

I actually had read all the rest of the B.A.D. series before I went back and read this first installment. If I had started with Bad Attitude, I probably would have liked it much better. It was fast paced and, of course, steamy but not as exciting as the other books where Kenyon collaborated with Dianna Love. The plot and action sequences were exciting (a little far fetched) and the connection between Sydney and Steele was intense. The ending twist was disappointing. I couldn't help but wish that...more

Ironically, I am not a fan of contemporary romance novels. And yet...

Sherrilyn Kenyon is talented like no other! Her writing style and characters and plots are so good that they are able to draw me into the story no matter what the genre might be!

As such, I absolutely loved BAD Attitude! Aside from the fact that there were about two plot twists I did not see coming, the characters of Steele and Syd were so enjoyable to read! I really believed the entire premise to the agency and the drama of th...more

I shelved this under UF but I'm not sure it's really that. It was a pretty good story if you don't read too much into it. There were a few things (as a military wife) that just didn't jive for me, like the Badass Syd not knowing what FUBAR means. I loved Steele's character.

There were just so many things that made me think "Why did this covert, awesome, recruits all the badasses from everywhere, do half the stuff before hand?" Why they needed a guy 2 years out of the game (which is a lot when yo...more

This is my second time reading this book, first time was a few years ago. It's been a while that I've read a book that felt so.. dated. Some of the slang, especially the use of "jerk," definitely seemed out of date. I know it's incredibly hard to make a contemporary novel timeless, but being a huge fan of Sherrilyn Kenyon, I know her writing, and I know how wonderful she is. This book just didn't live up to the rest of her work.

That said, I still liked it. I love Steele's sense of humor, and Syd...more

Kenyon's running out of greek gods to hook up and save with romance and marriage so she's moved on to spies.

I'm figuring that because Kenyon is a big seller with the "hot loin" books and she came up with this new idea, the publisher let her write this book and they actually published it.

It is, IMHO, BAD! Kenyon does great with the greek gods and fantasy types of hot loin books but a semi-realistic spy book? No, it was terrible. The publisher must have gotten smart after the first book and force...more

BAD Attitude by Sherrilyn Kenyon

First in the B.A.D. Agency series

4 stars

The BAD Agency is a secret organization that hunts terrorists and other threats to society. BAD agent Sydney Westbrook must find the perfect sniper for a risky counter-terrorism mission. J.D. Steele, a military sniper who shot at his CO in a fit of rage, just happens to be perfect for the job. But Sydney and J.D. have never gotten along and this mission is sure to be a bumpy ride. I’m not into spy novels or movies. I’ll wat

This book start off with Steele in Iraq in 2003 where he is serving as a military sniper. He overhears a conversation where the Captain was talking about sending Steele and his friend Brian into an unauthorized territory and Brian was killed while Steele lived. This pissed Steele off. It was because of the Captain that his friend was dead and gone, that his family would never see him again. Letting his temper control him, Steele takes a shot at his commanding officer, only hitting his helmet. St...more

I love this series. I think the BAD Agency series is one of my favorites by Sherrilyn Kenyon and I love every installment of the series.

The main characters Steele and Syd were great. I loved Steele from the start and never stopped. He was a man of honor who tried to do what was right. He's gruff, strong, and sarcastic, but he's also gentle, kind, and loving. Syd got on my nerves a teeny bit sometimes but I still enjoyed her character.

The character Jack I would have loved simply because he is rid...more

I would have given this one a 5 stars, but there were few bits and pieces that I didn't quite like.

1. The story started off pretty slow. Honestly, I was quite ready to not like this book but after the third chapter or so, the story started to revved up. True to Kenyon's style of writing, once you're on board, it's hard not to sail through.

2. How can JD confused her father's voice with his sister's? He was so sure that it was his father's voice he heard on the other line even though the voice was...more

I liked this book, but didn't enjoy it as much as I did "Born to be BAD". This book is more of suspense and action than romance. I liked that bit about the very flawed hero. The story focused on Steele's character and how he got his life back after being recruited by the Bureau of American Defense (BAD). Not much humor here, but there was that trademark Sherrilyn Kenyon hero-and-heroine-banter, you won't miss it.

I noticed that she loves using the phrases "turnabout is fair play" or something lik...more

I can't quite decide what to give this book, star wise. As usual I love this author and anything she puts out, but I think I prefer her her other series' over this one. I'm not a huge fan of espionage and spy novels, so perhaps thats why my rating went down.

Even so, I really enjoyed the characters in the book, but was slightly put off by the ending. I have the next in the series (co-authored by diana love) so I hope to enjoy the next one more.

Done reading Bad Attitude. I like this book and the whole Series of B.A.D this is the type of book that I really want to read. Commandos and Security Agent, Bodyguards & etc. I like the story and of course the characters especially J.D. Steele.

I like Kenyon on how she wrote this book.

If you're a type of person who like secret agents, commandos and etc. action-romance thing then you should buy and read this one.

This book was better than I thought. I actually liked the characters and think the series has potential if they use the secondary characters they introduced. I think it could be fun. The sex is sweet and hot, but not very descriptive, FYI. Also, the end was a quick wrap up and a little too tidy for everything that had happened so far. But that can be typical of romance novels, so it's not ruining the series for me yet. Looking forward to the next one!

I feel like I mostly skimmed this book, so I guess I can't write a fair review of it. However, even with just skimming it, I still managed to get annoyed with the constant references to how the main character looks like Angelina Jolie but with "curves". Overall I wasn't really that impressed but I wasn't that bored either. The ending wasn't the greatest but I'll probably read the other books in the series anyway.

I guess this was a re-read for me, though, to be honest I did not remember I had read it before until I got ready to add it here and write a review. Hmmm - that doesn't speak very highly of it. I did like it pretty well, though there were a couple of things that really annoyed me. First of all, these B.A.D. folks have TOO much power; they seem to supersede all agencies and offices in the country - a little hard to swallow. The most disturbing thing, though, was what I thought was going to be a p...more

Another light romance from SK. This is the 4th story, but 1st full length novel in her B.A.D. series. The previous short stories felt just about the right length so I was concerned that this full length novel would feel like an eternity, but again, it felt just about the right length.

Sydney Westbrook is an agent who is determined to get the bad guy at any costs. J.D. Steele is a former Army sniper who ends up in jail for misconduct. The BAD agency springs him for a job and of course romance ens...more

Sniper Josh Steele finds himself in Leavenworth after his temper runs amok over the idiocy of a commanding officer. But he is just the sort of man the Bureau of American Defense needs to work with Special Agent Sydney Westbrook to foil assassination plans that could lead to the beginning of WWIII. This is the first in Kenyon's B.A.D. series. A decent start but I enjoyed her later entries in the series better.

Pensé que me defraudaría, pero acabó gustándome bastante. La única pega quizá el aire "happy" que tiene la compañía BAD. Para ser agente secretos son bastante despreocupados. no sé porqué me había imaginado que sería algo más serio el libro ;)

I enjoyed this book. It was a quick read and I never would have guessed who the bad guy was. Great plot twist at the end. The main charaters where likeable and I loved the banter between them. I will be looking for the the next book in the series.

I have to say I was delighted and surprised how much I liked this book! It has funny times, intense moments and exciting moments. For not being set in a different world or universe it was still very good. Both main characters are wonderful and their scenes together are so well written. If you like military type stories you will like this one.

Very slow start, but picked up near the middle. I would likely read another of this series. This author is a great one. She wrote the Dark Hunter and Dream Hunter books. They are awesome. ACHERON is one of the best books ever. If you haven't done so, read the whole Hunter series. It is very good.

HOT, HOT, HOT! God, there's no other way to explain Kenyon's characters, writing style... She's a great author with an awesome imagination. The characters are colorful, individual personalities with their own sets of priorities and their own sense of right and wrong. Character and location descriptions are so vivid you can close your eyes and picture it perfectly. (What I wouldn't do to get my hands on Steele, mmmm-mmmmm!) Kenyon knows how to give the book the right amount of power to create and...more
