Within, you won't find fairy tales meant for children at bedtime.

The book is a dark whimsical collection of thirty fairytales that often don't always have happy endings. Some are better stories than others, but overall they were original and interesting. I was surprised how much I loved this book, I expected it to be silly, but instead I discovered a real gem for those who like their fairytales reminiscent of the bloodier tales brought from the old country.

This is a book that takes you back to when "Fairy tales" could be dark and blood-thirsty stories, before they were disneyfied. Very enjoyable although I would say that not for smaller children! My favourites were Elephant Funerals and Boy Hunt. Read it for yourself and see which is your favourite.
