This book is a good entry level overview of the Pacific theatre of World War II. It doesn't go into enough detail for my taste, and gives little feeling of what it was like to be there, but it does cover most of the major events and contains loads of photographs. The details are given in a factual, but not dry, style and it's refreshing to see a fairly impartial view of the conflict. There is quite a lot of attention paid to British, Australian, Indian and other Allied forces, rather than just ...more
