This book was a pretty good read for me. My only complaint is the way that time flies throughout the book. You will be reading and the next thing you know it will be one month or so later with no warning really. Overall I really enjoyed the story though. The story flowed pretty well so the fast forwards in time didn’t really take away from the story at all. Matthias was a gentlemanly, sexy man. Kate’s character I wish that the author would have gotten into more of what she can do but she was a e...more

It’s been a while since I read the romance—I’m sure I was one of the very first, because I got the chance to beta-read it—but Matthias and Kate stood with me for a long time after I closed the book. When Jelic started the story in a dreary moment for Kate, in an unfriendly city, it was a pleasure to go on a journey with the nanny and find myself again in a beautiful manor, set in an idyllic landscape. The author so wonderfully broke with the typical view of nowadays heroes and heroines. In her b...more

Very good book! The characters Matthias and Kate were interesting and fun to read about and had a great story that will keep you turning pages.

After an awful marriage Kate goes to be the nanny to three small boys, who are all adorable, kind, sweet and loveable. She loves them right off the bat but their father......terrifies her, but ignites something in her she didn't know was possible. Kate tries to get their father, Matthias, involved in their life more to help him bond more with his sons. E...more

Not your normal paranormal romance, Bonded by Crimson offers a refreshing new look at a popular genre. This is not so much about vampires as about true love. Author Zrinca Jelic weaves an interesting plot with themes that many readers will appreciate. Romance, of course, and the appealing angle of the (immortal) hero’s three young (mortal) children; as well as the backdrop of an unusual and beautiful location: Croatia. When Kate Rokov takes the position of nanny to the handsome and mysterious wi...more

What an enjoyable, atmospheric and gripping read Bonded by Crimson is! The heroin, Kate Rokov, has been terribly hurt in the past. Vulnerable, kind and with a good sense of humour, she is immensely likeable. The hero, surgeon Matthias Zrin, is strong, brooding, dark and handsome – ah yes, I should mention that he is also immortal! From the moment Kate takes up the post of nanny to Matthias’ three sons, the story keeps the reader at the edge of her seat and eager to turn the page...more

I was very happy to find this book a pleasant surprise. Ms. Jelic can write. Such a relief after reading so many promising titles with interesting synopses that turn out to read like a high school first draft. The writing flowed, her sentence structure varied, her grammer perfect, her editing spot on. The first chapter was wonderful as Mattias fires his nanny. She has a realistic and eyebugging way with ignorant sass. I wish we had seen more of her villian, he added great contrast to Kate fallin...more

Bonded by Crimson is a lighthearted read, sweeping the reader along at a very fast pace from the moment Kate steps into the role of nanny to a dark and mysterious widower of triplet boys, to when she is swept into his world of intrigue and immortality. All is not as it seems as Matthias Zrin whisks her away to his (and her) native Coatia and the intricacies of mortality blending with immortality unfold. Their chemistry cannot be denied, but forbidden love is only further complicated by ancient...more
The Window Seat
I liked the idea of this book. An Immortal widower with 6 year old triplet boys hires a nanny because he is still mourning his wife of 300 years who suddenly dies at the birth of his children. He then falls madly in love with the nanny. Add on to that, their travels back and forth from Canada to Croatia, visiting his palatial homes in both countries. There were quite a few challenges with this book that kept me shaking my head, but there were also things that I liked. I think I’ll start with the...more

I received this free book as a Read to Review, for an honest review..

While I enjoyed this book, I didn't love it. It is meant to be a paranormal book, but apart from one of the main characters Matthias being an immortal and the mention of vampires. There was not much else in the way of the paranormal.

The storyline was good, and I wasn't totally sucked in from the start, it took me a few chapters to get into it. But once I was I couldn't put it down.

Kate was employed by Matthias as a nanny for h...more

The imagery in Bonded by Crimson, is amazing & vivid. A paranormal romance weaving between the real human struggles of Kate; the sweet, human nanny, and Mathias; the immortal widower. I found the story line interesting & unique. Watching the interactions between Kate, Matthias and his 3 boys, was both charming and amusing. Ms. Jelic has a wonderful talent for making these characters seem real and relateable, as we watch Matthias struggle with being a father to his young sons, and come to...more

I really enjoyed this Read to Review I received. The writing was well done, some of the best I have read in the free books I have reviewed recently. This is a paranormal book, but the paranormal was really mild compared to most, so don't let that hold you back if you aren’t use to them. The plot sucked me in from page one and I quickly developed a crush on Matthias. My husband is from Bulgaria and I loved that much of the plot was set in Croatia, another Balkan country, the descriptions of the l...more

Although i did enjoy this book it has taken me a few days since reading it to really decide what i want to write about it. Its a great read for those that like a happily ever after.

What i really liked:
Although Kate falls for Matthias pretty quickly there journey through love wasn't easy they had issues that needed to be overcome.

I was given this by the author for an honest review. I have 4 stars marked but it was more on the line of 4.5 stars!
I try not to give to much of the story away in my reviews, that is why my reviews are sometimes short. I just want to say that before I get started.

*at times in the book, it felt like time moved super fast then you were reading for awhile at the same "time period". I understand you can't write every little thing that happens in a course of a year of two without skipping a few mont...more

Paranormal romance, Bonded by Crimson, by Zrinka Jelic had me hooked from the beginning. It has everything I like in a paranormal love story. Matthias, the sexy but eccentric immortal hero is need of a nanny for his three boys since the death of his wife. With a feeling of deja vu, Kate arrives for the job. From there things heat up with whispers from the past, Matthias' wife's ghost and a sleazy businessman with a grudge, who'll stop at nothing to get to Matthias' fortune.

Ms. Jelic has a wonderf...more

This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review.

To be completely honest... I couldnt finish this book ;/ I'm sorry. I tried. I got pretty dang far but...

Okay,
The characters bore me.
There is nothing really interesting to Kate. In fact i just picture this really boring teacher that dresses like a grandma and doesnt have a lustful bone in her body. The things that she says and thinks just seems completely NOT FUN to me. Sure she cares about Matts kids and that cute and all... Sure shes...more

Bonded by crimson.. I like to start by saying it was a very Interesting.
Matthias the closed off immortal who has lost his immortal wife and was left with his 3 children.
Kate a human good girl and a soon to be nanny for matthais
3 kids.
The kids were a lovely trio who you fall inlove with automatically and so does Kate. As you read on you see how Kate reunites the father and sons and its lovely to see. The love between Kate and matthais was adorable and romantic. What I still don't understand or...more

Bonded by Crimson. By Zrinka Jelic is a paranormal romance that grabbed me from the first page and left me unable to put it down. This is a story about Kate, a girl who tried to escape her past by taking a job as a nanny for Matthias, a sexy, eccentric immortal. And Matthias who struggles to raise his three boys after the loss of the only woman he could ever love, or so he thought. This story takes you on a path filled with obstacles that Kate and Matthias struggle to overcome as they fight agai...more

"Bonded by Crimson" is a beautifully written, almost poetic piece of literary fiction. The language to me was one of the main strengths of the book.
The story is simple: Kate arrives to become the latest of a string of failed nannies to a remote home in Canada. The Croatian widower both frightens and attracts her but she loves the children and stays.
Their blossoming romance is disturbed by some paranormal interference, one that drives the plot nicely along. Jelic manages to keep our interest thro...more

This is a most intriguing paranormal romance. I loved it!

Kate is a wonderful character. She is a very loving person. I found her to be extremely likeable. She is trying to get her life back on track after a divorce. When she is offered a position as a nanny in a widower's household, she decides to take it. What she didn't expect was to fall in love with the boys in her charge. For some reason, their father was also fam...more

**I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest, review.**

I thought this book was really great. There was no boring part, and clues kept coming. I loved visualizing the different settings in the grand house, the city in Croatia, their own island, the church, etc. The spirit of Emina really touched my heart. The only thing was, maybe Kate got to Matthias (Mr.Zrin) a little too coincidentally? even though he knew who she was.

Overall this was a nice book, and I recommended it...more

I received this book through Goodreads as a read to review book. I enjoyed the book. I liked the characters. The children were able to tug at your hearstrings, however there was quite a bit of time gaps. For instance she was leaving and then a month later...I think that this book could have been so much better if a little more detail was brought into it. To me, there were several gaps that could have been explained. I still never understood the title of the book, how it was relevant.

Zrinka Jelic is the description and dialogue queen. She knows how to place the reader and her characters say the right thing at the right time. I highly recommend this book to those who need a break from your typical 'Twilight' vampire romance. Matthias Zrin is not only a handsome immortal, but he is a gentleman in a modern time when chivalry is going out of fashion. Kate Rokov is pretty and optimistic, a perfect combination for a heroine. Most people would consider this an upstairs/downstairs r...more

I received this free book as a Read to Review, for an honest review..

I liked this book, I liked the idea, it just didn't seem to connect, at all. I mean other than him being immortal, and he's slowly becoming more human than not, it's not really much of anything. You knew who the bad guys were and it was very predictable. I did enjoy the characters. I think the characters didn't bond with the story.
Kimberly Lacey
I don't understand the high reviews for this book both here and on Amazon. The story is confusing and disjointed and I felt nothing for the characters. The editing is also non-existent (i.e., should be "whine" not "wine"). I'm usually very tolerant with self-published books, but this book needs help.
Patricia
This book was merely okay. It was not very exciting or even surprising. It is great for a little airplane story but not for a worthwhile experience.
