I feel that some books are not getting the proper attention they deserve. This is in the top of that list. No Exit is an amazing novel, which has not reached properly to readers and bloggers. I hope this review will make at least some of you know that this novel is a page turner and truly, a great work.

Rebecca Miller is a psychic - she sees into people's future and heals the sick. When, at the age of 5, Rebecca started showing her psychic abilities, her father freaked out, and never again came near her. Even without father's love and care, Rebecca grew up quite strong and kind to lead her own life. But, similar to her father, there are people who fear Rebecca and as a result, now, in her twenty-five years, she has no friends (except her secretary, Annie) and never got past the first date.

Two years ago, Rebecca 'read' the future of her client's husband, who was the U.S. Senator. She suspected that he might be murdered and there might be some betrayal involved. Because of this 'reading', she was brought forcefully by the Nighthawks to England to help stop that murder. This is where she meets Kelly Nolan, commander of the Nighthawks, who was drawing her picture from the age of 15, without realizing it.

The love, mystery, action, pain, death and betrayal are portrayed perfectly. The character development was what more than what I expected. Rebecca was one of the best heroines that I know of..so stubborn, so helpful, so caring. Yeah, she does mistakes, but who doesn't? Though she is not normal, she doesn't wallow in self-pity..she takes care of life in her own way. There are no faults I can find with this book..all positives - strong characters, excellent story-telling, intriguing mystery and believable psychic elements.

This is not the first that I read from this author. I already have read "A Tear of Blood" by her, and I liked that too, well, not this much. This author really thinks a great story to tell..I am having her on my watch-list.

I really did enjoy this book having read a few phychic mysteries lately I thought it sounded interesting but would most likely be more of the same but I was really suprised. It was a emotional rollercoaster of a ride I found myself laughing one minute and crying the next. Once I started reading “No Exit” by author Julie Harris I did not want to take a break. The theme, pace, and intrigue of the story held my interest from start until the end. I really liked the key characters and the story is a believable possibility of the paranormal.

Once I started reading “No Exit” by author Julie Harris I did not want to take a break. The theme, pace, and intrigue of the story held my interest from start until the end. I really liked the key characters and the story is a believable possibility of the paranormal.

As a little girl, Rebecca had a very special invisible friend. This is not unusual since most children go through phases of imaginary friends. But for Rebecca, her friend was different and Rebecca was different. The first indication of Rebecca being an unusual child happened when at age five she was taken to visit her dying grandmother. Rebecca told her parents that it was not time for her grandmother to go and be with Pops. The invisible friend told her to go and touch her grandmother and when she did, her grandmother woke up from her coma and her health began to improve. Her father asked her what had happened, and how did she make her dying grandmother begin to heal from the strokes. The little child simple told her father that “Love did it”!

Rebecca had several gifts which defied explanation, and her parents did not want to talk about this or acknowledge the rare blessing which their child possessed. Rebecca’s parents wanted a normal child. Her father who she adored was afraid of her, called her a freak, and left the family. Rebecca was heartbroken, but knew she had a purpose in life to help and heal those around her who needed help. Although her mother did not understand or encourage Rebecca’s behavior, she accepted that her daughter had a gift and was different.

The invisible friend who Rebecca called “Manwell” when she was a child, was really an unseen guardian to help Rebecca live with her gift as a normal part of her everyday life. Her perception of God was unshakable and as she grew up she felt that He was always with her. “Manwell” was really named Immanuel, and taught her how to see things that other people could not see. Not only did Rebecca have a gift to heal, she could see a persons past, present and future when she touched them. As you read further into the story, you will realize how important it was for Rebecca to be careful when meeting people and as she was touched. Her physic abilities increased and would flood through her with information about those around her. She was determined to always use her abilities only for good.

When Rebecca is about twenty-five years old, life for her changes drastically. This begins the very interesting story of how she is tricked, and coerced to use her gifts for US Blackhawk operations. Because of a previous consultation she had held with a US senators wife, Rebecca is held against her will and thrown into a whirlwind of military and political deceit with an ultimate goal of assassination .

Continue to read and learn how Rebecca finds there is another person who has very special gifts also. Could this be the love of her life or will he be using her for his own political motives. The title “No Exit” is fully understood as the plot progresses and one of her friends is force to make a decision...follow his commanders orders as a sniper in an assassination or protect his new friend!
(personally, I would enjoy to read more adventures about Rebecca and Kelly...)(less)

This was an excellent read! The characters in this novel are extremely well developed and draw you into their world – a world of psychic gifts, espionage, and supercharged sexuality. Another author to add to my list of favorites!

I had never read anything by Julie Harris before, but decided to try this one, based on a recommendation from a friend who is a big fan of her and has read about six of her books. I’m really glad I did. While her online biography on Amazon says that some have compared her to Harper Lee (author of the classic “To Kill a Mockingbird”), Lee only published that one book. No Exit by Julie Harris is a fictional supernatural-thriller with romance that sucks you in from the moment you start the book to the last word. This well written story was nicely paced and forever keeping me in suspense.

She was invited to speak at a paranormal event only to find out it was a hoax and there really was no such event. It was a ploy to get her to London where she was met at the airport by some men in uniform who turn out to be US Navy SEALs. Kelly Nolan, commander of the Nighthawks, looks familiar to her but she can't quite place him. He takes her into protective custody where she learns the true reason for the her presence.

Two years prior Rebecca did a "reading" for a US Senator's wife confirming her fears about her husband's death. Senator Glover didn't believe in any of the psychic stuff but now that he is a presidential candidate the SEALs have orders to keep John Glover alive despite their knowledge some want him dead and Rebecca is to help them with this mission. Between her help from her "gift" and the remote viewing and psychic connection by others on the team failure is not an option even if one of their own is "seen" to be the assassin. Rebecca not only learn more about being a SEAL than she ever wanted to know, this journey takes her places she never imagined including her own death. She learns about betrayal but more importantly she learns about friendship and love. She also learns that sometimes their is no exit.

Even though the main plot has several sub-plots I found the story easy to follow and captivating. I love the style of the author used to introduce these sub-plots as each in its own right was interesting and important to the main story. The story as a whole progressed nicely with content and time line. "No Exit" will be found on my favorite shelf since I found it to be completely enjoyable. (less)

A 5-star suspense-thriller with some romance tossed in.

Rebecca had a special ability, one that made her father leave when she was just a child, one that made most people afraid of being a friend. She could see things about people, the past, the present and the future, with just a simple touch. Plus, she could also heal the sick or the dying.

Julie Harris' "No Exit" is a fast heart-pounding read that makes you want to sneak a peek at the end because it is impossible to predict how it will end. It is hard to define what kind of genre this book belongs in. "No Exit" has something for all readers with everything from thrilling political intrigue to romance to supernatural elements that makes this book impossible to put down.

Julie Harris did it again. I loved her mix of paranormal and mystery in A Tear of Blood and she didn’t disappoint with No Exit. Just from the summary alone, the book seems like it will take the reader on a suspenseful ride and Harris delivers that, amazingly well. I hated having to put this book down while either reading on my breaks at work or before going to sleep at night. I almost took a vacation day just so I could read this book. I could not wait to finish reading. Julie Harris has found a fan in me. I hope my review will do justice to this book.

I honestly did not understand the title of this book until almost the very end. Then everything was clear. The title made perfect sense, because in the end there is ‘No Exit’.

There are two main characters in the book, Rebecca Miller and Kelly Nolan. Rebecca is not your everyday 1-900 number psychic. She has a gift, a gift that is beyond human understanding. Kelly Nolan is a commander in the US Navy Seals. He is in charge of a small special ops force. There are several minor characters in this book but all play an important role in creating the special feeling in this book.

Rebecca has an amazing gift. This gift is beyond human understanding. People call her weird, a freak, unnatural and many other hurtful names. Why, you ask? It is because she can tell a stranger their past but also knows the future for that stranger. She can touch someone and heal him or her from all there aches and pains. She can shake someone’s hand and knows if there is a future for the person.

In the past, Rebecca read a female that was visiting from the USA. She told this woman when, where, and how her husband would die. At the time, Rebecca did not think anything of it, but she recorded the session and gave a copy to her client. Two years pass and Rebecca is asked to attend and speak at a conference in London. Unknown to Rebecca she is about to be kidnapped, a prisoner, a visitor that is not allowed to leave the US Air Force Base in England.

Commander Kelly Nolan is a Cherokee Indian. He is also psychic. He can read people’s mind. Would that be wonderful? I would love to know what other people are thinking or wanting to say but to scared to say it.

After reading this book, it will make the reader wonder if there are people like these two somewhere in the world. Do I wonder? Yes, I do. Why? Because anything is possible in the great amazing world, we live in.

Rebecca is a strong female character that has learned how to handle no close friends, no second date, no love and support from family members. However, things like that always make us stronger. No matter what we have been through it has made us a stronger in character. The one thing in life Rebecca wants is to be normal, to have a normal life with someone to love her. Will she ever find that someone? Will she ever be normal?

I hope you will find the time to read this amazing book. I have tried to think of what genre this books fits in but it is a collection of them. I would put it in paranormal, paranormal-romance, suspense, and mystery.

Not sure what to say about this one. I enjoyed it for the most part. It sucked me in, but a few things bothered me.

The heroine was just too much. She could tell the past and the future by touching someone or by touching something or just by thinking about some random person in the world. She could see auras, cure people and plants, read minds and see and talk to ghosts and help them to the afterworld. Rebecca is shocked when she is met at the airport by two men in uniform, one of whom she recognizes, who tell her that the conference at which she was scheduled to speak turns out to be a farce used to get her into England and she has to come with them. They don't tell her why, but she knows it's about the Senator she saw die. As they pull up in front of a helicopter, Rebecca freaks out, knowing that if she gets in the helicopter she will die. Of course, the uniforms refuse to believe her and push her on, but they are quickly convinced when a bullet goes through her heart. An hour and a half later, the wound heals itself and Rebecca wakes up, ensuring her status as a freak.

Over the next three months, she faces threats to her life, hostile attitudes, and disbelievers. As if that weren't enough, she also has to figure out whether Kelly is the love of her life or if he's just using her to take out the Senator. She does eventually discover who her real friends are, but who will make the ultimate sacrifice to protect her?

I enjoyed this book from the very beginning. I was touched by the story of Rebecca's childhood and instantly curious about the psychic connection between her and Kelly. I thought the storyline about Emmanuele was interesting and love that Rebecca always stood up for herself and her gift. There were several plot threads, and they were interesting and easily followed.

The writing was well-done and the book was properly edited, which I greatly appreciated. Even with multiple sub-plots, the story was cohesive and everything made sense. Harris delves into spirituality and morality in a way that's easy to relate to and not at all preachy. There were so many aspects of this story that it should appeal to a wide variety of audiences, and I highly recommend picking it up and spending a few hours with the book; you won't regret it.

The story was bizarre. It was about Rebecca who had psychic skills and coerced to use her skills to save a possible assassination of potential Presidential candidate. Her love interest, Kelly, also possessed psychic powers and it sounded like he had loved her even in a previous life. It was an okay read and did not particularly have much interest in the characters.

Julie Harris is a very talented author and I have put her on my "lists of favorites". She definitely knows how to create a magical plot that has the supernatural in it, but still make it very realistic too.

So far I love it. About 75% finished.
Finished. No Exit hooked me on the first page and never let go. I stayed up reading until I couldn't focus anymore. I loved Rebecca and Kelly, but the others, Mac, Steve, Mitch . . . they drew me right in. I laughed and cried with them all. A really good story (even if the woman from Georgia sounded a bit strange :-)

It's not fantasy , it's not paranormal either . I think I'll categorize it as supernatural thriller ,mystery (romance?!).
It was a different book . It wasn't fluff or an easy read but I was hooked from page one. It was angst-filled!!! but I loved it
I have to say it has one scary cover.
