I love this. The poems are so visual and tactile, in fact, all senses are engaged. I know I am right there with Easy, Amelia, Fred, Pepper, Maggie, and the others. They are not just word pictures about the many dogs Susie DeFord has walked, trained, lived with, and about the cats she and her husband have also lived wth, and about the neighbors and the streets, no. These poems also speak her insides out. She is emotionally very generous.
