Wendy Everly can barely remember what it was like to feel like a normal girl. She'd wished for her life to be different but everything is so much more complicated than she'd expected. And she certainly hadn't dreamt she'd be getting married at 18 to man she didn't love - all for the sake of duty.

With bittersweet feelings, I bring you this review of 'Ascend'. This is the last book in The Trylle Trilogy. It is just as enthralling as the first two books in the series. I am not giving spoilers here. You will want to experience the evolution with the cast of Trylle for yourself. Some may cry, some may cheer, but in my opinion, Hocking has written one of the best series in YA fantasy.

We left Wendy in 'Torn' engaged to her friend Tove. They really are a perfect match for each other and would b

Reading Vacation

I read these three books back-to-back-to-back on my Kindle. The story had me so engaged, that I could not put it down. I was reading in the car, at school, on my bed, at the dinner table, and in the media room. You could call it an obsession.

In this paranormal tale, Wendy learns at the age of seventeen that she is a troll. Oh, but she isn’t just ANY troll, her past is filled with mystery, deceit, and some unexpected ancestors. Amanda Hocking carefully twisted this plot with all sorts of su
I went on a reading binge and read all three books in the trilogy in a 9 hour period on Saturday. They were simple reads but still had a fun story that left you wanting to know more. I decided to combine my review in one place since they all did seem to blur together because I read it as one long story instead of three separate books. First, this is a new world that I loved reading about. Something different from the standard mythical creatures that are so big right now. The person she ends up w ...more
This is it. The queen is dying. The king wants her kingdom. He will do anything to get it. Only Wendy stands in the way.

The final book in the Trylle Trilogy has great character development and an excellent romance. I was, however, a bit underwhelmed by the ending. We'll get to that. First, the characters. Wendy can be a bit dramatic. She will jump to decisions in a heartbeat and that kind of annoyed me at first. It's like she doesn't stop to think before she acts. I guess I should be used to her

Fabulous series! And also a little unexpected ending. I totally thought she would end up with the other guy but I liked how it ended!

Summary (from Goodreads):

I wrote a review for this on my blog, but since I wrote it right after I finished reading the book, I was on a bit of what I call a "book hangover." Yeah. Don't ask. It's crazy. So now that it's been 48 hours... I've calmed down and I'm going to attempt to write a spoiler-free review.

If you're not afraid of a spoiler-crazy review, you can visit my blog and check out my review.

I devoured the first two books as soon as I got them. I really liked them. I was just super excited for this one, and I
This book was absolutely amazing. Out of the trilogy this book was the best. The romance, mystery, the story building up the ending was amazing. The storyline was phenomenal. IT WAS THE PERFECT ENDING. I couldn't think of anything more perfect.

What should I say concerning the last book of Miss Hocking's Trylle trilogy? Simply put, the whole thing is one hell of silly wish-fulfilling make-believe, with zero realism in the world-building, characters, setting and plot.

Our first and foremost problem begins with Wendy, the 'heroine' of the trilogy. In Ascend, Wendy suddenly becomes capable-leader's-material, who can keep the nobles at check? Sorry, I just can
Ascend is the perfect ending to the Trylle Trilogy. I'm sure there are more than a few people who wish Amanda Hocking had taken the obvious route with her plot, but I for one am so glad she didn't.

Wendy is trying to save her people but they continue to fight against her and amongst themselves making her task seem insurmountable. She has put the needs of her kingdom ahead of her own, but no matter what she tries, everything seems to be falling apart. I love that Wendy fights for what she believes

This is the bonus book found within Ascend.

I read several reviews about this book, leaving you with more questions that you had when you finished Ascend. I dont think that is true, because I had alot of questions at the end of Ascend, such as: What happened to Matt and Willa? Did Tove finally find someone he loved? What happens to Finn? Is Duncan okay? Would Rhys ever meet his real mother? Will they finally tell Matt that they dont actually like his birthday cakes? And a few others.

I really hated that the Trylle Trilogy had to end.. but at least Hocking went out big with ASCEND. I absolutely loved the first two books, but this final installment was the best yet. Once I picked it up, I just couldn't put it down. The growth of the characters, that fans have come to love, is strong and undeniable. Wendy is really impressive as she truly come into her own in ASCEND.

In these final chapters questions are answered, relationships are stressed, betrayal is had, war is wedged and s

This is a difficult review to write. Not because I’m at a loss for words - because I have too many! I’m about to burst at the seams needing to vent to someone about everything that went down in the final installment of The Trylle Trilogy. What are you trying to do to me, Amanda Hocking? How am I going to express any of my opinions here without giving anything away from the book? I suppose I will stick to safe topics, and this review may go down as one of the shortest in my little blogging histor ...more

It was good.

However, I felt Wendy could've been with Finn.

C'mon, it wasn't his fault that he couldn't stand up for their relationship. What, did she want him to get exiled or something?! That accusation was so not fair. He was not the same position as hers, where a mistake could be overlooked. For him, it was an ULTIMATE decision.

It was so eccentric and stupid of her to think of Finn as such. That's not LOVE as she described. Wendy didn't love him truly. What is love, if you don't have faith and

I detested this book. I loved the first one, and the possibilities of the new world that Amanda Hocking was creating. I sort of liked the second one, but I had high hopes for the third and final book in this series. Ascend was a huge let down, and the series has been shoved to the back of my book shelf until I find some poor soul to dump it on.

The whole book was just a mess. The author seemed to have suddenly realised that she had a lot of unsolved issues and just threw in random resolutions t

Achei curioso o fato de a editora ter achado por bem alterar por completo o nome deste livro, talvez por mero marketing, mas deixou o título original - Ascensão - ao lado da paginação.

Oh my! I totally loved this one! It was so freaking awesome! Even better than the first two! 4.5 stars I loved the turn this story took. With Wendy's fate and everyone around her. How she earned her subjects trust with her actions and became the Queen everyone close to her knew she would become.

Wendy really surprised me in this book, I liked her a lot more! The sacrifices she did or was willing to do for her people, even if most them despised her. I also liked how she handled all the boys in her
