WOW WOW WOW! This was an amazing read for a "book that looked interesting, and bought on a whim." This book litterally had me sitting on the edge of my seat, my bed, and the floor if it had an edge. I could not put it down. Very fluid and easy to read.

I loved it because it was so very mysterious and SCARY! Never knowing what to expect and this is just the first volume....so looking forward to the second one.

Each of the 2 volumes has 2 different books in them. The first Unseen has It Begins, an...more

Mysterious, scary, the Unseen 1 which contains two books of the series including It Begins and Rest in Peace. It described how Lucy Denninson, a high school teen whose mother was dead, moved to live with her aunt and step-cousin Angela. During her first few days in her stays, when she found herself being stalked by a stranger at night, she escaped to a cemetery and suddenly fell into an open grave. She then saw a girl being stabbed and was in her last minutes. The girl then grabbed her hands har...more

I have to admit, I bought this book, without reading the back at all, solely because of it's interesting black and white cover and the way that the cover for the first book made an entire photo with the cover of the second. I know, I know, something a reader shouldn't do. I started reading this expecting the worst, as punishment for picking a book for the cover, but I have to admit that I was rewarded nicely this time! At 274 pages I expected it to take me a few days to finish, seeing as I work...more

It was the jacket cover for "The Unseen" that first caught my attention. I had never noticed this book at my local Barnes and Nobel...until three days ago. Anyway, I purchased the book and took it home...I honestly, expected it to be another sappy paranormal romance teen fiction.

Boy was I stunned! that it turned out to be not a bad book. I enjoyed reading the emotional ups and down Lucy went through in her struggles throughout book #1. Poor Lucy is totally unlucky in life. First she loses her m...more

The description of this book is pretty vague, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect from it. Was it supernatural, suspense, mystery; was there any romance? But a friend suggested it to me, which didn't really make me all that less wary, but I thought that there had to be a reason she liked it, and so I started it with hope. And was very pleasantly surprised to find that I was really enjoying it.
The Unseen is about Lucy, who's mother has died and so moves in with her un-emotional aunt and tro...more

From my blog, The Writer Diaries.

There’s 4 books in this series, all served up in two novels (think The Vampire Diaries reprints where there’s two books in one novel).

This is a good read. I had a dream that was based on the first book a while back and when I found it in a store, I bought both of the omnibus’ (omnibui?) since I had only read the first out of four years ago.

It was a very easy read, especially if you like mystery and horror and wondering whats happening next, it’s really good. Whil...more

I'm not going to lie. I bought this book and its sequel on a whim while at Walmart shopping on night. I loved the covers, especially how they fit together to form one full image on both the main cover and the spine. I have learned the ways of the "cover whore" (as Ashley of The Bookish Brunette would say) and snagged the books immediately. They've been sitting on my shelves for a few months and I finally decided to dive in.

Wow.

Seriously, wow.

These are a real true horror story. There are no punch...more

i wish i could give this book a half star. i have to admit i bought both The Unseen and The Unseen 2. So I feel obligated to finish the series. But i have to say that if the second book is anything like the first then it was money completely wasted. The Unseen is like 2 books in one. the first book was a complete flop. It just repeated the strange goings on over and over again with no character development going on. By the end of the first book the main character, Lucy, was the only person we kn...more

I abosolutly loved these books! I couldn't stop reading and it always made me want more.. ya it took a while for me to read, but i like a book that i can read for a long time so that i can have that feeling of really being in the book! The only thing that bothered me is how stupid she was about not beleaving the things happening weren't true.. but with her beleaving that made the end ten times better :D and anyone that can't finish a book should not read it.. because all you are going to be is c...more

Brilliant, just fantastic! I was in love with this book from the start, it was a big mystery type book. I will say though it is for the more mature readers, there are some scenes that I'd rather not tell, it happens once or twice a man peeking on her changing. Yeah, now do you understand? Anywho, the book was astounding, I was always wondering who the mystery boy was, I thought maybe Matt, or maybe Byron? But I just couldn't figure it out, hopefully the second book will be more revealing. Everyt...more

I just finished this book not even five minutes ago and the story is still very fresh in my mind especially since I read the whole book in less than a 24 hour period. I'm not sure where I stand. It has a unique story line which manages to keep you in constant suspense. The main character, Lucy, was somewhat easy for me to relate to. Because of my own personal ability to connect with the main character it made it easier for me to get interested in the story, which may not be the case for some.

I got this at the grocery store because they were cheap and looked scary and it's Halloween-time. I had to go back the next day for 3/4 because I was dying (ha) to read the rest. It was a good deny-your-life and escape book series. I appreciate the other reviews I looked at---you are confused and questioning the writing and story at times in this first one... Just perplexed. Is it bad writing? Did I miss something? But I can see now, after finishing, that I was riding the confusion wave of the m...more

What a strange book. I have to say, unless you're going to read the rest of the 4 part series, I don't think part one will make any sense. Because I finished part one and all I have are more questions, as there wasn't any type of finality, just a cliffhanger.

That said, Lucy is a teenager and her mother has died so she is now living w/ her aunt and he cousin Angela. She's very unhappy because she and her mom were so close and her Aunt is never around and isn't a very caring/nurturing person.

Just...more

I saw this book at Walmart and decided to buy it even though I had no idea what it was about (I was just really wanting to get my hands on a book to read). It went by so fast I cannot believe I am already done reading it. The plot is a curious one and I just couldn't stop reading because I wanted to know what was going on. The book is full of mystery and suspense as both the reader and the main character, Lucy, try to figure out what is going on. Lucy has a stalker and odd things are happening t...more

Amazing! i found myself constantly uneasy and guessing. as soon as you come to any solid conclusion, things change and you find yourself putting the puzzle together in another way just trying to figure it all out.
The only thing i don't like about the book is how naive Lucy is If something happens that obviously is not okay, she easily says "okay that's weird... I'm gonna ignore it" its highly frustrating. I found myself wanting to shout out " STOP BEING SO STUPID!!!!!" but... i still give it 5...more

Ok wtf is going in this book. First off I read books 1&2 yet I don't know what kind of supernatural being are we talking about? You have no idea is this person that's stalking her is an actual person or a mist or a vampire or a demon and if it takes you over 2 books and you still have no idea. Im sorry but This isn't a mystery novel it was in the paranormal section and its just been dull and stretched out. HOWEVER ill give it 3 stars for the effort BUT it wasn't anything special.

The story started right away and I was hooked immediately! It moved quickly and I was up many late nights with my heart pounding and couldn't set the book down. I loved the characters and couldn't wait to get the next 2! The only thing that bothered me was the constant italics. I realize there has to be a visual difference between speaking and thinking, but it seemed like there was a lot more than necessary. However the story was so good I could overlook that small annoyance.

this book was very intriguing! I literally could not put the book down, every page was always a surprise. every chapter always had a climax leaving my mouth drop. If you were to read this book tell me how it made you feel. this book will make you think YOU are literally in the book! don't forget there is a part two to "The Unseen"

I just happened to find this book combo and bought it on a whim & I'm glad I did, its a good story. Glad I also picked up "The Unseen 2" (books 3-4). It is an older book series repackaged & I was surprised that I had never heard of them when originally released :)

Definitely want be disappointed with this story, I was hooked after reading the first chapter and found I couldn't put it down cause it kept me wondering who kept following and stalking Lucy, just when you think who or what could be doing it, the story takes you into another whirlwind of guessing again. It is worth the read.

This book had a very short description on the back so I didn't know what to expect. The author does a great job with details. I felt like I was experiencing what Lucy was going through. The book spooked me at times but I never wanted to stop reading it. I already bought The Unseen 2 and can't wait to start reading it!!

The Unseen was a great read that captures the reader's interest from the beginning and never lets go. I had picked up this book on a whim not knowing what to expect, but what I got was a fast paced chilling read that kept me guessing from the beginning to the end. Lucy was your average girl trying to cope with the death of her mother until she ends up in the cemetery one night thrust into a supernatural world. Lucy tries to tell herself that what happened wasn't real, but the visions she now has...more

The idea and story were both interesting; however, the writing wasn't very deep. In my opinion, "Rest in Peace" was better than the first book. Overall, it was entertaining and suspenseful.

“You've got the wrong girl."

"On the contrary..." the voice murmured, "I've got exactly the girl I want." Her body turned to ice. Her mind fought for calm. There were people only yards away, yet she was alone...

"You're bleeding." Lips closed over hers. A kiss so passionate that time faded and stopped... so passionate, it sucked her breath away... Searing heat swept through her- pain and pleasure throbbing through her veins. With a helpless moan, she leaned into him and realized with a shock the kiss had ended.”
