Well...it's been a wild ride, but Going Under is officially released. I thank you for all your supportive words and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it.

This had reminded me so much of Perfect Chemistry and Pushing the Limits although this one is published first before the latter. Actually it was pretty identical but for someone who's just looking for some sweet story with enough depth to read I think this could definitely work out for them. Oh i loved this book!
So cute!
It was more real than the whole, 'im popular and im too good for you.'kinda thing!
More unoriginal and that was cool.
Why didnt i give it a 5 star rating? I just didnt like the whole epilogue thing at the end kind of ruined it for me.

Georgia Cates has done an excellent job of putting you right in the middle of everything that is going on - all the heartache, the joy, the romance, the passion, the drama - you experience it all. I really loved the characters in this story. Claire's snarky friend Payton, was one of my favorites. I also liked Claire and admired the fact that she was able to see past "societies labels" and see Jessie for who he really is. I absolutely fell in love with Jessie Boone. OMG, he is one of my most favorite hot bad boys ever. He puts on this tough, hard exterior because the hand he has been dealt in life has been a hard one, and one that hasn't been fair. The chemistry between Jessie and Claire is off the charts. They face many obstacles in their relationship, some of which cause them to stumble and fall, and they don't always make the best choices, but love refuses to be denied and always manages to find a way.

I was hooked from page one and there was not a dull moment in the whole book. I was drawn into the story immediately, and although I felt as if my heart would breat sometimes, Georgia has inserted some humor in just the right places to perfectly balance things out. Georgia certainly delivered in the romance area to. It was really hot, and let me just say the ending absolutely blew me away - that is all I can say about that without giving too much away. If you are a lover of contemporary romance, this is one story you won't want to miss. (less)

Jessie is supposed to be this big bad boy, but I really don't think he is. He has this big bad facade to keep people out. Based on what he has had to endure growing up, I can't say I blame him for shutting people out. He feels the need to lie constantly so no one knows the truth about his life, I feel in doing so he sets himself up to have his own dreams crushed. This is more than a story about love, it's a story about knowing when to let someone in, that it's OK to ask for help and yes there are actually people out there who will accept you for who you really are...if you let them that is.

The love connection between Claire and Jessie is intense! I was biting my nails and I had butterflies and I read this book in one sitting from 10% to finish. Once their emotional tirade begins it was impossible to put it down. I had to see how it all played out, I wanted so badly for them to be able to be together. I didn't like Claire at first, but as events played out I came to respect her. I liked Jessie from the beginning however. It started as pity, but then turned to adoration. He is just wonderful, completely selfless, surprisingly gentle and caring, and incredibly smart. He has had to grow up way to fast, and sometimes that can ruin a person, but I think it brought out the best in Jessie. I respect and admire him. And while I was skeptical of Claire at first, she definitely grew on me as well. She has a determination I envy and she feels so deeply it can be overwhelming.

I had a lot of fun reading this story, and it completely took me over from start to finish. It was a pretty quick and very easy read. Full of intense excitement, surprise twists, incredible love and attraction, it was an edge of your seat read for sure! I would recommend this read for sure for all fans of romance or YA! you should definitely add this one to your TBR, I had so much fun reading it, it invaded my brain and didn't let go until it was over.(less)

The only reason this gets a star is cause I finished but to be honest I wish I had given up when I wanted to but as this was a book challenge I was doing I decided to keep going.
My advice would be to read Pushing the Limits instead. It is very similar but IMO far superior.
The "teen speak" was cringey & then other conversations were so prim and unrealistic.
There were a lot of spelling & grammatical errors that usually if the story is good enough I can overlook but not in this case I'm afr...more

As I was reading this, I definitely noticed it had a lot in common with Pushing the Limits, but this book was published first (interesting.). However, I felt this story was better told.

The story is told from both Jessie and Claire's alternating points of view, which I loved. With a book that is so centered in a relationship, I believe it's important to get to see each person's true feelings.

Jessie put on a tough front, which of course was necessary for him to just make it through his everyday life. But I loved that he was sensitive even from the beginning. I know that sounds like a YA stereotype, but he was different. It's something I can't explain, you just need to read the book to understand.

Claire was OK on her own, but overall I enjoyed Jessie's chapters more. Claire's best friend Payton was actually more entertaining for me.

The chemistry between Claire and Jessie was sizzling and palpable, but the book actually keeps their physical contact pretty clean. I love that they didn't jump into bed together quickly. I believe this is important in YA books, and lets teen readers know that a relationship doesn't necessarily need sex for it to be hot.

As the book got to its' ending chapters I felt my emotions being wrenched. The story definitely got to me, and I loved the way it ended, even though it was a little bit too perfect.

I believe this is a book that everyone will love, and the author has a gift for making readers feel what the characters are feeling.(less)

Before I read this story, I did something that I think a lot of people do (don’t mean to offend anyone!), I judged it first on its cover (and what a great captivating cover!) then when I read the blurb, I assumed it’d be similar to Perfect Chemistry (Simone Elekes).
I thought that this would be just another way of writing the same scenario (and I was scared that I would keep comparing these two). In a way, I guess it is the same, I mean, I don’t think this situation that the characters are in is anything new. But, because all I’ve been reading (or lack thereof) has been fantasy and paranormal, this book was a really nice change. Maybe, it’s because of the change that I really loved reading this, but I think that this book would have been a great read regardless.
The novel started off really well and got straight into it. It was (I felt), a little rushed at times, but I really loved how everything turned out. I especially loved getting to know the characters and Claire’s story (her past) was a really nice break from all the stereotypes that I’ve came across. I think that little bit to her story really (but not entirely) broke her away from the past characters that we all come across.
And Jessie. Wow. Jessie. Need I say more? To those who haven’t read it, maybe, but I’m sure that once you read it (and you should!!), you’ll get what I mean. He is such a strong character and as I kept reading, I just fell more and more in love with him. (As I’m sure all readers will. Hopefully.). He is, I suppose, your average type of bad boy. However as you read, it turns out that he might not be after all.
I found the characters very relatable and I was able to really sympathise with certain parts and problems that these characters went through.
At the beginning they, well, for the lack of a better word, ‘toyed’ with each other. Both wanting to get together for very different reasons. Well, the intention, I think wasn’t to actually get together, but it turned out that way anyway.
The story, I thought was going to be just another fish in the pond, for want of a better phrase, but as I read it, it was ‘the’ fish in the pond (forgive my metaphor), and I was so, so glad that I decided to steal my friend’s kindle and read it.
I can’t wait till I can get my hands on it (I’m having a bit of trouble), because I’ll be visiting Claire and Jessie again for sure!
This novel is a great read and before you start thinking that it’s going to be similar to the Perfect Chemistry series, and in some ways it might be, stop that thought now, because in so many other ways, it’s not the same at all.
Read it. And hopefully like me, you’ll enjoy it and love it.

When I was reading this book, the song Never Let Me Go by Florence + The Machine kept poping up in my head. For some reason, I think it totally fits. Check the song out if you don't know it! It's awesome!!

I really liked this book. There were times I was laughing out loud! 2 things I loved was...

-I really felt the author captured the games and thoughts of how a high school girl thinks.
- It was fun to read from a boys perspective then flip to a girls. You really don't have to wonder what the other person is thinking.
-oh and something happens in the book I just didnt see it coming. How? Idk. But I was like "NO!!??"

I thought this book was very well written. It kept me interested the whole time and it was a good clean romance. I love the way you ended the book. There could be a movie about this book. The way you write is like you can visualize the scenes right in front of you. . Keep up the good work Georgia Cates!!!! Can't wait to see what's next!!!

I didn't like the writing style either, Payton's jokes for example, and even the dialogue was a bit too...forced? It didn't help with making the romance believable. And the last chapter, the epilogue that was added afterwards was way too good to be real. Maybe I've read way too many books that don't end on so happily, or I've just become far too pessimistic now but the ending seemed unrealistic to me. But that's just my opinion. And some parts of the plot seemed rushed, and I didn't like that. This book does have some good parts though, I loved Jessie's relationship with Harley and Ozzy, they were a good addition to the story even though they weren't in it a lot. And despite not liking the romance I liked how willing Claire was to fight for Jessie, it was times like those I hoped I'd be more convinced of their love. I'm only giving this 2 stars because the book had a great concept and some parts made me want to continue on and keep reading (usually involving Jessie's home life) but it just fell short. And I'm not sure if it's just me but that cover is very, very misleading. I really liked the story of Claire and Jessie. Georgia Cates' writing caused me to feel very emotionally vested with the characters, especially Jessie. I admit I have some hesitation reading self-published books and other books that are for tours because honestly most of the time they disappoint me, and well they're the kind of books that are not my type. Going Under is the second novel by Ms.Georgia Cates, her first book and series is the Vampire Agape. I fell in love with Ms. Cates' writing and story in the Vampire Agape, and in Going Under my feelings haven't changed. Loved it. A happily ever after is always good, but this was a HEA for al the people. Jesse was a bad boy but not so off the grid where it wasn't believable. He made me want to go back to high school for a minute. I want to smack all these 'parents' that have kids and use them for their advantage or totally neglect/abuse them. I get it life has struggles but it isn't the child's fault. PSA over, I know it's a review. I loved Peyton as well with quick tongue, she was pretty memorable.

This book was really, really cute. I reminded me of Perfect Chemistry in a lot of ways. I absolutely love that book so naturally I figured I would like this one too, and I did.

Jessie and Claire had the perfect relationship because it wasn't perfect. It was always a struggle and they had a number of things tearing them apart. I loved their chemistry, bickering, and witty comments to each other. I laughed so many times at just how snarky they could be.

I loved this book! The characters were great (i loved Peyton- she made me laugh) and the story was engaging. I felt invested in the lives of Jessie and Claire and found myself rooting for a happy ending.

I was really excited to read this one and before I started it I honestly thought I would love it. I was so excited for Going Under but it really let me down. In the beginning I really disliked Claire. I found it annoying how she complained about preconceived judgements and yet she was full of them in regards to Jessie. She complained about people not under...more I was really excited to read this one and before I started it I honestly thought I would love it. I was so excited for Going Under but it really let me down. There were things that I liked about it but there was a lot that really bothered me. I'm just going to start by letting out all the negatives.

In the beginning I really disliked Claire. I found it annoying how she complained about preconceived judgements and yet she was full of them in regards to Jessie. She complained about people not understanding her and was so full of judgement that I could barely stand her. The plan that she came up with at the beginning with her best friend Payton was stupid and childish. She wanted to get back at him for something that was not a big deal. Another thing that did not fit for me was the language that they used. The way that they would talk especially Payton did not feel like that of a highschooler. As for Jessie I did not feel like there was anything outright wrong with him but his character did nothing for me. As for the relationship between Claire and Jessie they fell in love with each other almost right off the bat and did not really know anything about the other besides that they were attracted to one another. The last thing that I did not like was the ending before the epilogue. I understand what the author was trying to do, I just wish there was some sort of explanation even in the epilogue. That last chapter before the epilogue was so abrupt and I honestly felt like with some kind of explanation as to the what actually happened would have been better. From the beginning I probably would have given it one star but it managed to redeem itself to the point where I didn't totally hate it.

Now I'm not saying that the book was all bad because it wasn't. This was just one of those books where I could not overlook all the flaws. The relationship between Jessie and Claire was cute and I liked how they interacted with one another. There were times when they were very sweet and I thought that they made a good couple. My favourite part of the book was probably Jessie's younger brothers Ozzy and Harley. Not only did I find them adorable but I really enjoyed how Jessie cared for them. I wish there was more with the boys because I also liked the part where Claire met and took out the boys with Jessie. Although the ending was expected, I did like it and am happy with the way things turned out for them. i liked it, i was in tears a couple of times and it was very cute. the chemistry and sexual tension was very well written whilst also showing the sweet romantic side. however i found a lot of little structural errors throughout the book and several continuity mistakes where little things didnt add up. i found myself noting these things down and saying 'oh i didnt really like that' as the writing style wasnt very sophisticated and this whole plot reminded me of pushing the limits.

I thought the book was good.. Wasn't one of the best I read. I don't know sometimes books written about teens in high school aren't always my favorite because their so PG-13. I personally am not that into PG-13 books i like my books with some sex and romance that doesn't seem so OMG and like totally.. LOL But it was still good :) & he had real problems in my eyes while she was the typical popular girl who everyone thought and expected to be one way while she secretly wanted to be another way...more

The Lowdown: When circumstances cause Jessie Boone to attend a new school, one much different from his previously impoverished setting, he finds himself thrust into a world full of richy-riches. With his football abilities landing him the starting quarterback position on his new football team, he also finds himself in the cross-hairs of the jock that formerly occupied that position, Forbes Henderson. Looking to get under his skin, Jessie challenges the status-quo by going after Forbes’s girlfriend, Claire Deveraux. However, Claire is no man’s pawn in a game of who’s the better stud, and she plots her own revenge by scheming to get Jessie to fall for her so she can leave him in dust, thus embarrassing him in front of the whole school. But all that plotting lends to this dynamic duo spending more and more time together, and eventually the spark is just too much for them to handle.

My thoughts: Have you ever read a book that you wanted to like, but just couldn’t? Well, that was how I felt about this book. It receives higher ratings on Goodreads and there seems to be a good many people– some whose opinion I trust, might I add– that really enjoyed this novel, but I was never able to really get into it. I liked the concept of the story, but felt the execution of it was a bit lackluster. While some of the interaction between the characters had their particular moments, whether they be swoony or funny, overall read very unnatural and forced. Then there was the matter of these two high school seniors and their immediate sexual attraction turned love. I’ve never been one for insta-love, I think it’s something that starts out as a spark and grows over time. Real love, to me, is about the development and maturation of deeper feelings. So the major plot point of this story, aside from Jessie’s troubled life, was the chemistry that these two shared, but to be honest, I never felt it.

That being said, I feel like I’m the one that missed the boat on this book. From the praise it receives, and more importantly the bad-boy lust factor that Jessie garners, on Goodreads, maybe I’m the actual problem and not the book.(less)

I'm not so sure what I expected when I started this story, but when I finished it, I very much just liked it and just loved how the two main characters, Jessie and Claire were written. We read from both of their POVs and their voices, their backgrounds, seemed really realistic. These two are from different types of families, and I mean different. Yep you pretty much guessed it, bad boy from the wrong side of the track meets good girl from the rich part of town.

When Jessie gets to East Franklin High he is immediately hated. A- he is from Collinsville B- he has just been named the new Quarterback due to his awesomeness.
