If you've read my previous reviews for some of the books in this series, you'll know that I've been rather disappointed overall by the KoH series. Most of them seemed to more fizzle than anything else, but I'm glad to say that this book is a marked improvement over the last few books in this series. It's not an overwhelmingly great "Graham's back" type of book, but it's enough to where I can definitely recommend it to Graham fans.

I am so glad I have discovered this Krewe of Hunters series. In The Unspoken, Ms. Graham combines a murder mystery with some historical information and just enough romance to make it fun. We get to learn a bit about time period of Amun Mopat as Katya and Will work to solve the mystery behind the murder of three people involved with the salvage of the Jerry McGuen .

This is good but over the top makes it funny some how. Thier is some sex scenes that I skipped over.
This is a story with Texas Krewe unit for the FBI. It also features one member of the original Krewe of FBI agents
with extra powers.
In Chicago on lake Michigan a diver found the ship that had all the Egyptian artifacts that sunk years ago. Thier
Musuem had the rights to salvage the ship. Brady did not want to wait to see if his figures where right. So he broke

The Unspoken by Heather Graham is a clever tie-in to the most recent title in the Krewe of Hunters series, The Unholy. Medical Examiner and paranormal investigator Kat Sokolov was involved in the investigation, featuring the possible reanimation of the mummy of Amun Mopat. Amun Mopat was supposedly an evil and powerful sorcerer during the reign of Ramses II. A ship carrying the contents of the tomb of Amun Mopat sank in Lake Michigan in 1898 and has never been found. A group of Egyptologists bas...more

Once again Graham delivers a story the reader can not put down. Set in Chicago/Lake Michigan this story is a page turner. I have never read another author that puts as much research into her books as Graham does. She draws you into her story from the first chapter. While Graham is known for her ghost stories this did not have as many ghost as with most of her other stories which was a little disappointing but still an excellent story.

This is another book I listened to and from work.
It was okay for a quick mystery read type of book.
It is funny how different people or events in a book stick out when it is being read to you vs. you reading it yourself. It is almost like seeing a movie because it is the story tellers interpretation of the book vs. you as the reader. The author describes a scientist in the book as "bald and looking a bit like the Sesame Street character Dr. Bunson Honeydew". This should be a serious character in...more

My second Krewe of Hunters book after The Unholy, I think The Unspoken is a bit better than its predecessor but not better enough for me to say I like this one way more. The supernatural aspect's better incorporated into the story at least, there are a couple of parts that are fairly creepy, but the story as a whole is really formulaic. I know Heather Graham probably intended for this book to be reminiscent of The Unholy, but for me too much of this sequel just comes off as a rehash of the last...more
My Thoughts:
Today I finished reading The Unspoken, book 7 in Krewe of Hunters series. I have to say that I am getting bit bored with this series. It has become very formulaic, which is bit disappointing for me and I like Heather Graham very much. I have read a lot of her other books and I've never gotten bored with any of them. But this series is getting boring for me. Mind you I have only read book five The Unseen, book six The Unholly so far.

Here I was, having just read THE UNHOLY, wondering why I'd never read a Heather Graham book before, and Netgalley gives me the opportunity to read another! We see some of the same characters from the Krewe working in the previous novel, and lo, a mummy in Chicago's lake with ties to the previous case! But new readers can jump right in. There are hints of what happened before, but I didn't feel like I would have been lost if I hadn't just read the previous book. Searching for a mummy (and a kille...more
Just finished reading The Unspoken and I loved it. This was another great story by Heather Graham. Now, although usually her books can be read as stand alones, it does help to read her previous books. Especially the last one, The Unholy, to understand the story better.
As usual, this had everything I was looking for in a story to get lost in. Intrigue, suspense, romance, mystery, action, etc. I am so glad that Will wasn’t overlooked and he got his own story. I wasn’t sure at first if I would like...more

The Unspoken by Heather Graham is the seventh novel in the Krewe of Hunter series. All of these tales can be read as a standalone. Each case has paranormal elements, which require the skills of a special unit of the FBI, known as the Krewe of Hunters. Agents Katya Sokolpv and Will Chan head up a case involving a sunken treasure, a curse and several unexplained deaths. This was a fun, suspenseful read as they worked to find a murderer and stop a mummies curse.

This is the second book by Heather Graham that I have read and I am enjoying the hint of the paramornal and unnatural in the storylines. The author uses the paranormal in a way that makes it feasible and leaves the reader open to the possibilities of these things actually existing. I like that each book uses a "Krewe"...a cast of characters that each have given talents regarding the paranormal and work together. I have met two different Krewes, and enjoyed them both. I recommend these books for...more
The Unspoken is the 7th book in the Krewe of Hunters series. The Unspoken was definitely better than the last one from this series, The Unholy. This time around, the team is sent to Chicago to investigate the death of a well known diver who is killed while exploring an ancient shipwreck. It looks like he was scared to death. Katya is sent to see if there is a case for the team to investigate There, she is joined by Will Chan, member of the first Krewe of Hunters. I was so glad he got his story,...more

I liked this book better than The Unholy. The characters were interesting and had good chemistry. I am still a fan of he series and look forward to the next one. They do seem to wrap up rather quickly and all of a sudden after spending a long time sifting through the details, but I imagine real investigations are pretty similar, so I can't say I mind the pace, but I do always hope for updates on the couples in later books since we don't get to see much of them after the resolution of the mystery...more
I really enjoyed this book. I found that the more I read the more I wanted to know who or what was responsible for the killings. The story is about a ship the "Jerry McGuen" that went down in Lake Michigan in the late 1800's carrying rare Egyptian artifacts and a sarcophagus of Amun Mopat, an Egyptian priest they believed to have been an evil sorcerer that also carried a scepter that carried a great power. Which brings us to detective Will Chan and Kat Sokolov and her Krewe of paranormal investi...more
One of the things I enjoy about Heather Graham's recent books is that they really give you a feel for different locations and histories, which is sort of like going on a little trip and taking a tour of a new place. This volume takes us to Chicago and into Lake Michigan and a world where Egypt was the most popular subject. Even with the supernatural and the murder mysteries it was still pretty light and not too scary, which is also typical.
Just like the Crypts and the Bloods when a member of the original Krew of Hunters and the Texas Krew has to work a case together, they are bound to but heads. Kat just finished the Unholy case about ancient Egyptian Amun Mopat and has been sent to Chicago because someone has finally found the sunken ship Jerry McGuen where Amun Mopat’s sarcophagus has laid for decades. Will was already in Chicago when people started dying presumably because of a curse on the sarcophagus. But is a curse really to...more
I enjoyed this installment of the Krewe of Hunters.
When the wreck of a ship that was supposed to be bringing Egyptian artifacts goes down in Lake Michigan in 1898 and kills everyone aboard.
In current day Chicago, a diver and ghost ship expert finds the wreck but dies before he can tell anyone the details of what he sees. Then another diver dies, and the supposed curse of the mummy who's sarcophagus is in the wreck.
The Krewe is called in and starts. to investigate. As always, there are plenty of...more

This is another of my October books to celebrate Halloween - this one centered around locating a mummy in the depths of Lake Michigan. Heather Graham finds a new setting for her story - and a new horror to frighten her readers - a mummy's curse. She has definitely done her due diligence as background for the story. Chicago's Field Musuem has long hosted a small, but fine collection of Egyptian artifacts and has offered visiting Egyptian exhibits over the years. Chicago becomes a wonderful settin...more
A fun quick read, just what I need in the summer! Liked the action. Some of the plot development was predictable in terms of relationships, but it was still solid and interesting enough to hold my attention. I'd probably give other books by this author a try, though I still lean more towards paranormal and fantasy.
I wasn't real impressed with this one. I thought it was a little boring. It might have been the subject matter, I don't know. I do feel like the romances in the last couple of books has been a little forced.
