Remey is a huge rock star who moves to a small town to get away from it all.... touring, his record label, fans, etc. He's a small town southerner who made it big and while he doesn't move back to his hometown, he does move to a town in the northeast. He meets Aleksander (Aleks), the high school music teacher and single father to a 3 year old girl (Willow), in a music store. Aleks is not openly rude but he makes it clear how he feels about Remey and his type (famous). As they slowly (I mean real...more

Three Crow Press Review by Lyne23

Remey Dufrense followed his dreams and became a rock star. While his tour bus was driving through a small town in Massachutes he felt a connection that made him realize that he’d found his true home. Finally reaching a point when he can take some time off, Remey bought a home in Haven and can’t wait to move in. As soon as he gets there he knows he’s made the right choice, only some of the local residents aren’t as excited.

This is a great story by co-authors Fae S...more

The story is like what the blurb says. I like simplicity, where the relationship between MCs is slowly developed. The book was great on that account, and I was prepared to give it high ratings... until the drama at the end. (view spoiler)[remey has agreed to be in the town's winter village. Suddenly he had to go several hours before the concert due to the shake up in the label company. I'd say BS. His obligation is not just to Aleks and Willow. It's to the whole town. The authors made t...more

Famous small town rock star wants to put roots down again somewhere that feels like a home. He is tired of touring and L.A. Remey finds himself in Haven, exactly where he feels at home. Enter local music teacher, painter, bad boy under his suits (tats, yeah) who also has a darling if not a bit demon possessed 3 year old.

When Remey comes to town so do the Paparazzi which disturb the balance of the small town in Aleks' life. He starts out as a scowling major tool and continues in that vain for a...more

This story like Alek's neurosis for me was hot and it was cold. It was a nice romance and at times it was so sweet and romantic, and then other times it was like..."Shut up already! Get over it! Fall in love dammit, because I'm falling asleep here!!!

Soooo Remey Dufresne a famous pop star (insert image of Cajun French accented Darren Criss here) has moved to Haven a small town in New England looking to get away from all the Hollywood crazyness. He likes it there, he's not expecting much other tha...more

Ever since I watched Notting Hill (you know, where famous big star falls for ordinary man), I have soft spot for stories with similar theme. So when I read the blurb of this ... famous musician and a single father, well, let's just say my curiosity increases (yes, especally due to the single father aspect).

While I DO enjoy the story; Remey (the musician) is just adorable because he tries to make Aleks (the single father) like him, and I love how Remey interacts with Willow (Aleks's 3-year-old da...more

A Sappy Wall-banger I was really liking this book in the beginning but about mid-way I got frustrated with Aleks and Remey. All they did was talk talk talk about nothing that was ever interesting. They did all this talking but they never really communicated anything. I did like the sexual tension between these two, but when they finally started having sex it nearly bored me to sleep. And guess what...they talked the entire time!!!

"Squish" was adorable and absolutely my most favorite part of the e...more

This was a sweet read about Remey, a rock star who seeks refuge in a small town, and Aleks, a father of a 3 year old and who is very protective of his privacy. They instantly fall for each other, but Aleks is very reluctant to let Remey into his life. He wants to protect his daughter and himself from the flighty and public life. To win Aleks over, Remey has to show that he can put Aleks and his daughter first.

I liked the story and Aleks and Remey were really good together. Even though I can kind...more

The characters are schitzophrentic (saying one thing for pages, doing another. BACK AND FORTH). And then repeat that cycle like 50 times.

Also, the characters read one-dimensional (like, no redeeming qualities whatsoever). Very confused about MC... he was married with a kid so how come he's gay now??? That was never discussed. It was just kind of accepted.

A almost finished this. But in the end, it became torture.

Well done! I love a good rock and rollin' romance...throw in a kid, and I'm a goner.

This was cute. As the mother to a three yr old I was minority annoyed with pseudo 3 yr old speak, but the kid herself was very cute. I wish I knew a little more about the backgrounds of the characters, but Ms. Sutherland has never done me wrong, and she certainly didn't with this book!

Solid, cute, fun romance.

Recommended!

Syrupy sweet romance between a famous singer looking to put down some roots in a small town, and the local music teacher. This author has a consistent style of slow-paced, low-angst romances that are appealing but don't hang around in your mind afterwards. Although I do find their dialogue refreshingly natural and ordinary. Even the 3 yr old daughter sounds cute. Would go well with a nice block of Toblerone!

Remey was such a little sweetie. Aleks not so much. But after he finally got over being a turd (which took a while), I thought he and Remey were pretty hot together. The adorable Willow, small town atmosphere and amusing family/friends, along with the slow build to Aleks and Remey's relationship, made this an enjoyable read for me.
Alex
Really good book about two men who not only have to jump the normal relationship hurdles but also deal with the stress that comes with one of them being a paparazzi stalked celebrity. Aleks is definitely gun shy, but Remey is patient and slowly proves himself to be more than the stereotypical famous musician.

Good story. The ending was a bit abrupt.

A sweet romance story with likeable characters and a fairly interesting plot line. There was just a bit too much of will they won't they for my liking.

I really liked the idea of the book. My problem was the way the three year old talked. I have kids and when they are three they can say complete sentences. Everytime she spoke it threw me out of the story.

Fae Sutherland has always dreamed of being a published author, starting her writing career off at age 11 with a series of stories she charged her classmates a dollar to read. She has since progressed to more serious writing, though always keeping that dash of irreverence and fun (and a hell of a lot more heat!). Also, she charges just slightly more than a dollar now.

Fae is perhaps best known for h...more
