As Lianne has just lost what she thought was the love of her life in the last book. But also discovered a new love in a long lost friend. I was surprised to see that it as well didn't get to live as long as I was hoping it would. That is not to say that I don't like any of her love interests. These books are pretty short and reading them one after another I have found that the process of going from one boy to the next felt rather fast to me. Plus I liked the friend character and wanted to see hi...more
Things didn’t turn out as Lianne expected and her life is headed into further turmoil in this book. She’s regarded as a hero for her antics in the first book, but she doesn’t feel like one. She sets out to find her friend, Mags, and ease her conscious. Along for the ride is one of the man-toys from the first book, who thinks that he had won Lianne’s love for all eternity. Maybe he has, but things sure do get confusing when Chase (who is much sexier and sweeter) shows up. Chase apparently has hun...more

Lianne and Bryden are leaving the comforts of the castle and their people to go off in search for Mags. Now Lianne wants to deliver Mags’ son to her and hopefully start over somewhere else with Bryden. Not long into the journey they are confronted by men who take Lianne to Mags but send Bryden bac...more

In Afterlife, you start off right where the last book stops. You continue the journey with Lianne as she tries to figure out who she can trust, who the bad guys are and how to defeat them.
Plot: This story was very good, however I felt that it was very rushed at time. She didn’t give enough detail or explanation about many things that happened here. Lianne and her friends went from one thing to the next, to the next. Everything moved too fast. I think the story if only 50000 words or so, when it...more

Afterlife isn’t a very long book… especially compared to the books that I’ve been reading lately. Regardless of the length, Megg Jensen packs an awful lot of emotion, mystery and intrigue into her second installment of The Swarm Trilogy.
I probably should have picked up Sleepers, the first book in the trilogy, before I dove into Afterlife. It didn’t take me long to get up to speed, but it would have helped me to get into the story a lot faster. Since I’m an avid re-reader, you don’t have to take...more

Afterlife picks up where the Sleeper left off, The Dalagans now ruled the land of Fithia and Bryden and Lianne were considered as the heroes. But when Bryden and Lianne finally uncovered the true nature of their race they decided to runaway and find Mags, the former queen of Fithia and bestfriend of Lianne. Lianne did not only found Mags but she also found another race with magic and a mysterious guy who seemed to know all the things about her.

Wow! I LOVE this book! Megg Jensen totally rocked this story. I love how the characters are so fresh and original. The story flows perfectly and sucks you in from the very first paragraph.
Afterlife is the second book in the Swarm Trilogy and picks up right where Sleepers left off. Lianne has just discovered her magic and isn't quite sure how to use it or even control it. She is on a mission to return her best friend's baby to her. After accomplishing this she discovers that there is certain peop...more

I have enjoyed reading the Swarm Trilogy. This series has been a short read thus far, but it remains full of action, love, and deception.
Lianne runs away from her life with her new family to reunite baby Trevin with his mother. She is quickly captured by Chase, and Lianne is yet again thrust into a whole new world of lies. The Malborn want to use her, it seems there is more to her power that she needs to learn. Chase tries to teach her how to harness her new powers and tame her rage. With anoth...more

This continues directly where the first book of the Swarm Trilogy, Sleepers, left off. Lianne and Baylyan help their people successfully take over the Dalagans but they discover they had a plan too they didn’t like and Lianne is revered because she killed her adopted sister. They escape into the forest to find Mags, the former queen, and her youngest son but instead they are found by Chase. Chase is the son of Reychel and Mark,...more

Afterlife picked right up where Sleepers, the first book in the Swarm trilogy left off. That being said, if you haven't read Sleepers, you are probably going to be really confused. There is a small sort of summary of what happened in Sleepers but you're still going to miss a lot. I sort of wished that there had been a little bit more of a review. It's been a couple months since I read Sleepers so I had forgotten some of the details. It took a little bit for me to remember everything that had hap...more
What I loved: Lianne's loyalty to Mags, her best friend, the true nature of love: that it is possible to love more than one person especially at that age, the introduction of Chase whom I immediately adored, the beautiful imagery in the trees, the heroine's desire to save civilizations.
I enjoyed book 2 and although events happened quickly they seemed to flow well.
Mild alluding to sleeping together but no bad language... In case anyone is wondering.

Even though I had a beta project come up I couldn't stop reading this one. It's beautiful, heartbreaking, filled with action and at times funny. Oh and Chase...even though he tends to lie and manipulate to trick Lianne I still have a soft spot for him. On to the Sundering.

Loving it so far will update when finished... Warning a spoiler if you haven't read... I'm a little confused about a part... Section 776, 27% the fithians I'm some kind of savior and the dalagans are defeated... Maybe I missed something or if I was super tired when I read sleepers... Can someone explain that to me, how is it that fithians saw her positively and that dalagan were defeated? I thought fithians were defeated and dalagans saw her as a savior

can't wait for the next one!
You did it again Megg. Another great read and now I finally am starting to understand how the two series are connected. I was kind of confused after reading the Initiate and now I understand where Chase fits in and links the two series. This book picks up right where the first book ended and continues Lianne and Bryden's journey with Trevon. I think once all the books in this trilogy are out I'm going to go back and read both Megg's series so I can really put it all together. Can't wait for book...more
