I enjoyed the fast pace of the book and the characters and how they interacted. There were a few places where the logic was questionable in that I felt the pace was disrupted by unexpected behavior or dialogue on the part of the hero or the heroine, i. e., there was no build up to cause the reader to expect the reaction that one or the other had. It was a bit disconcerting, because Ms. Roberts' main strengths are, in my opinion, the smooth flow of her writing and her imagery. The flow wasn't More...

Hidden Star is the first book in the Stars of Mithra series. The story begins when a young and beautiful woman walks into PI, Cade Parris's office ready to hire him to find her. Bailey has amnesia, a million dollars in a duffel bag and a diamond the size of her fist. For Cade it's love at first sight but before either of them can do or say anything they need to figure out who Bailey is and what happened to her.

Cade is a great character, he is witty and charismatic. I loved that he was More...

This was a really enjoyable book, yeah not logical that our hero Cade took the amnesiac heroine to his house, whose name seems to be Bailey and that it was love at first sight for him, but sometimes you just gotta go with the flow of the book.

Cade is the black sheep of his wealthy family, he tried things their way, even got married but now he's doing things his way, with his PI business when the woman of his dreams walks in when his office is in a disarray, she cries, is carrying a g More...

Cade Parris is the black sheep of his wealthy Washington family. He works as a P.I. mainly for insurance companies and investigating the odd marital discord. When a young, beautiful woman walks into his office and announces that she’d like to hire him, Cade feels like of like he’s been hit with a truck. When he tries to get some details from her, that’s where the problems start.

Firstly, the woman doesn’t remember her name, or anything about herself. She just knows that she’s in an aw More...

I reached for this during a bout with insomnia. I stayed with the girl-walks-into-a-detective-agency story line hoping for a modern 30's and 40's type pulp fiction but no, it's just the same Silhouette melodrama I remember from when I used to read my mom's romance novels when I was a kid. I stuck with it to the end(?). It's the first part of a trilogy but I think I can let the other two books go.

so this book was a good book, defienly a must read, but at the end of it it seemed like it was a little unrealistic. I love Nora Roberts because most of her story lines could be ture, but this one seemed a little "story like" Not that it could not happen, but the time in which this book took place was only a long weekend, seemed to me to be a little short in time to happen. A murder to be done, then to find you love, fall in love, almost get killed and then find out who the killer i More...

Already read the 3rd in this series but this holds up even knowing the end. After reading some books by other, less talented authors, lately I have further admiration for Roberts' work. She formulaic but still crafts an entertaining story that doesn't give everything away too soon.

Really liked, Bailey & Cade's story, even if I couldn't get passed the fact that Cade, took Bailey into his house without knowing a thing about her. I'm giving it 4 stars, only because I'm not able to give it a 4.5 (on my phone).

Looking fwd to the test of the series. A great Nora Roberts, read!

I read this book years and years ago when it was first released but lost it somewhere in the past. When I saw the kindle version just got released, I decided to reread it. The book was not only as good as I remembered, but well worth buying again. Highly recommended for romance lovers.

It was entertaining, but the crime was solved quite easily. Too easily in fact. The story was not very plausible. I hated the ending and the fact that it is part of a trilogy (didn't know that when I bought book 1 for the kindle). I don't think I will get the other books.

I know, not anything scholarly, but definitely easy entertainment. And to my defense, I had bought the first 2 books of the Stars of Mithra series for our honeymoon and lost them in the move! So it's just now that I finally found them =)

Yet another great book from Nora Roberts. I know really nothing about gemology, so it was interesting reading about it. I hope the next book goes into more detail about that. I also like the "black sheep" lead male character. I'll definitely be reading the next book in this series.

The first of this series and I have to say I wasn't a big fan of the female in this book. I'm a big fan of fiery and fiesty female characters. She was more timid. But I still enjoyed the book

Not as strong as some of the books I've read, but enjoyable none the less. A quick read at only 156 pages (eBook), I'll have to see about acquiring the other two in this series!

Totally irritated that it's a trilogy - but... looking forward to finishing the series. FYI- it did have a couple of steamy-sex parts, so avoid if you'd rather not read those.

I started this book in the middle of the day and i stayed up til 3am to finish it...this is classic Nora Roberts, conspiracy/thriller its not but there is a decent romance and the crime element is good, all in all an easy and enjoyable read.

PI Cade Parris is hired to find out just who Bailey James is--besides being the beautiful young woman who can't remember anything, even why she has a huge stash of cash AND a bag full of diamonds
First book of a 1997 trilogy.

It was less than what I expected from Ms. Roberts. It was a good story, the characters were well written, but there was some substance missing to the whole of the story.. Cade was great as the leading man, and Bailey forgetting everything from her life it was a good mix of mystery to it. Still no intense story.. :D hope it gets better with the next book. :D

A great trilogy. I liked how she incorporated fairy tales with knights and damsels in distress with the characters.
