This is the first short story I read in Swedish, and I could only accomplish that due to the gentle narrative Lindgren put together in this booklet. Perfect for Swedish students -- and, of course, children at bedtime, though my cynical adult brain still thinks that Liljonkvast is up to something...

Such a beautiful story.

Sv: Vilken komplex historia.

In the Land of Twilight by Astrid Lindgren as one of our bedtime stories this week. Astrid Lindgren created the character of Pippi Longstocking to entertain her daughter. Lindgren was awarded the Hans Christian Andersen Medal for her contribution to international children's literature. This is a delightful story that shares the power of the imagination in the setting of Stockholm and painted in beautiful shades of twilight. Goran has an injured leg and he gets bored spending so much time in bed. ...more

This is a nice little book. I liked the idea of the story. I was expecting to find a little more of a solution to the issue the little boy had with his bad leg in the end so I was a little disappointed with the ending. Nevertheless, now that I know that is not the case, I can appreciate the story for what it is. A nice story about magic lands.

A soft, warm & quiet book, with lovely impressionistic renderings of Stockholm. In the Land of Twilight, anything is possible, the animals are free, and even a bad leg isn't enough to put you down.

I love Astrid Lindgren!

This is a sweet and funny story, but it didn't match my expectations, partly because it strongly resembles ''Peter Pan'' and it doesn't make my mind wonder off as I had hoped. The story is too down-to-earth. There could have been more fantasy in it.

This, like "Prinsessan som inte ville leka" (The Princess who didn't want to play) is another story of hope in a hopeless situation. Like so many of Astrid Lindgren's stories, it can be enjoyed - and understood - by children and adults alike.

Sweet Story about a boy who goes flying into other places...

This one of the better stories I've read by Astrid Lindgren including Pippi Longstocking.
