I loved this book. It is the follow up from "That Boy" and if you loved that this is a must read. This book was so good, but to me "That Boy" was one of the best books I ever read and this was "only" an amazing novel. Going a bit nerdy here I would speculate that this book has higher rating due to selection (that is only those who really liked That Boy continue on and read this one and they naturally adore this one as well).

“Love is friendship gone mad.”

Yay! I was so excited to jump into another adventure with Jayden, Phillip, Danny, and Lori! These are some of the most lovable characters ever. I always compare this series to watching your favorite movie or chick flick. That movie that you leave in your DVD player for weeks and replay it over and over. I have them in paperback and also on audiobook and have already listened to them both multiple times. It's like audiobook crack. Freaking hilarious!

That Wedding by Jillian Dodd is another out of the ball park book! I loved That Wedding even MORE then I did That Boy if that is even possible. The fact there is a third book coming out is getting me so excited! I wish it was 2013 already, can’t wait!

First of all I'd like to say that I really enjoyed this book, not as much as the first one though, but still I had fun reading this. However there were parts that just made me quite annoyed and frustrated and I think I just can't really overlook them this time - but maybe that could just be me. Ha! The book still did a very good job on showing the important aspects - especially marriage and what goes with it, struggles and conflicts couples face and overcoming past heartbreaks (Jaydyn's parents' death).

I swoon a lot of times to Jadyn and Philip's relationship. It was cute, funny, and really sweet. Although I do think it was a bit unhealthy (view spoiler) during the first parts but it definitely matured as the story went by. I understand Jadyn's struggles and confusion as she prepared for the wedding. But sometimes she pretty gets on my nerve. Haha! Her thoughts were pretty shallow most of the time and that just annoyed and frustrated me, especially during their counseling. But that doesn't mean I hate her. I, on the most part, feel sorry for her, I thought that if her parents were there she wouldn't be acting like that, she would have understand and face it better. But there was this one part that almost put me on edge! I almost pulled out my hair. And some of her past escapades kinda shocked me. But still, all went well. I was relieved, happy and touched when she finally realized what was wrong - how she thought that she handled her parents death well but in fact she did it terribly - and learned her lesson and what she has to do.

Jadyn, Philip and Danny's friendship was still very much highlighted in this story. And it was still really great and wonderful and I just loved how it was. And I found myself jealous of Jadyn again for having such wonderful and loyal boys in her life.

I also loved a lot of scenes in this book that made laughed so much! One was the "huge spider" scene! That was epic! It was just so funny and hilarious! Then the bachelors party, ah, I was grinning the entire time reading that part. And of course the wedding, it was wonderful and amazing though I think it was too extravagant, too perfect, but why not? Right? Favorite part of the wedding? When Danny and the boys danced! Haha! I can so much imagine them dancing the dougie, it would just looked so hot! lol!

And yeah, I really enjoyed how thorough Jillian Dodd showed the wedding planning here. In fact while reading this I started to plan (or more like daydream) my own wedding too! Wahahaha! I actually felt excited even though I know it would happen years from now. I didn't actually thought of that but after reading this it just kinda feel nice to think about it.

Overall, this was still a very good read! Funny, sweet and steamy with a very wonderful ending. I was thrilled when I learned there would be a third book, That Baby! Yay! I would definitely be looking forward to it! :))(less)

I'm not going to lie, for a majority of this book, I was annoyed with JJ. It just seemed like she wanted to sabotage her relationship. She constantly freaked out over nothing, refused to talk to her fiance about anything, and just used sex to solve everything. I could totally see the train wreck that was starting. Oh, and the night she ended up "helping out" at the bar - yeah, I was about to smack someone for just how stupid she was acting.

But then the breaking point happened, which I knew was coming. One little moment that just opened the can of worms that had been bubbling up since the first book. JJ's breakdown was one of the most real parts of this book for me. I felt at that moment, she finally let her walls down and allowed her boy to help her and understand her.

And while talking about the boys, can I just say that I want my own Phillip? He is just too sweet and adorable. He's patient and understanding. Yes, he also had his moments where I was like, guys this isn't going to solve anything, but he worked it out in the end.

As for Danny, can you say look who grew up? He proves that friendships last and he wears his heart on his sleeve. Danny is the kind of guy who would do anything for those that he loves and he just wants everyone happy.

I was super excited to start reading this book. Halfway through it, I was giving it a solid 4 stars. Then the ending came and the breakdown came, and it was booted back up to 5. I've heard somewhere there's going to be a third one called That Baby, and I hope this is true because I can not be done with these characters.

Can we please just keep it going until That Retirement Home?

Possibly my new favorite chic lit book. I was done with chic lit for the time being because I started getting into the paranormal romance and urban fantasy type books. But Jillian has brought me back into the contemporary romance once again. I need more books just like this. I was laughing, crying, and falling in love along with JJ. It's over! I'm so sad that I've finished book. Truly, if I had it my way, there would be endless amounts of Jadyn, Phillip, and Danny. This series was perfect and I don't often say that about any book. It was a breath of fresh air to read a series that didn't center itself on drama, but indulged in things like love, friendship, and happiness.

It’s been a while since I read That Boy, so I had totally forgotten how awesome it is to read Jillian Dodd’s writing and how awesome JJ is. I loved every singly bit of That Wedding. It made me feel happy inside.

Finally, JJ and Phillip are together! Yayayay! Now, they must work together to plan a kick-ass wedding. (Which they totally do!). Together, and with the help of close friends and family, JJ and Phillip form an even stronger bond and eventually get the blessing of Danny’s parents, Phillip’s parents and the Pastor. But, it is not without hardship. They discover new things about each other, and JJ freaks out because she thinks they are failing couple’s counselling. But, oh my God, this was a perfect book and they are perfect for each other!!!!!!

So, yeah, I really loved this book, a lot! There was a lot of sex in this book, but Jillian Dodd was very shy on details. I have no problem with sex scenes in books, don’t get me wrong, but with the amount of sex in That Wedding, I was happy with how Jillian Dodd wrote it.

The wedding was so perfect. I want to plan a wedding were everything just falls into place, just like JJ’s. Everything was so amazing and the descriptions were perfect. I even started crying a little bit! I cry a lot when I read books, I’m so lame, right?

I was devastated when the book ended! I didn’t realise it at first, I just wanted it to go on forever. I’m so glad my friend, Georgie, got me to buy the That Boy ebook. This series is so great. I keep seeing things about a third book, That Baby… Really??? I am so excited about that, oh my gosh, I hope Phillip and JJ have like a thousand kids <3 <3 <3

SHUT THE FRONT DOOR! This.book.is.awesome. No wait, scratch that. Jillian Dodd is awesome. I *thought* I loved That Boy. But That Boy pales in comparison to the absolute perfection that is That Wedding.

WOW. I cannot even EXPLAIN how much I loved this book! Jillian is an amazing writer O: I loved reading this, and I definitely look forward to reading more!

However, I did have a few dislikes about this book.
OMG. All Philip and Jaydn do, is HAVE SEX. It's all they think about, all they do, and it was just always mentioned in every. single. chapter. I tell ALL of my friends about the book. In fact, I just had book club last night and was raving about her series again to my friends telling them they HAVE to read them. I may have even threatened to defriend them if they don't. Okay not really, but I am that serious about my book love :) Jillian recently released the second book in the series titled That Wedding, and I honestly didn't think it was possible to love her books any more, but I was wrong.

I can't even really say that That Wedding is better than That Boy because there is nothing wrong with That Boy at all. How do you improve upon perfect? As you can see in my review of That Boy... it made me laugh, cry, and took me on an amazing journey that resonated with me long after I finished it, and That Wedding is no exception.

That Wedding finds Jadyn completely in love and fully enveloped in her new relationship and engagement to her prince charming. When the Pastor requires them to attend counseling sessions prior to marrying them, he starts asking questions that make Jadyn second guess herself and her relationship. Did they rush into things? Does she just have cold feet? Is marriage really that awesome? Is she just in lust with her love or is it more than that? Is this really what she wants?

Where That Boy is full of depth and meaning about what it means to come into yourself, and battle the things that life can throw at you and learning that sometimes the best things in life are right in ront of you, That Wedding is meaningful in its own right. While the first book is interlaced with a tragedy and how Jadyn deals with the aftermath of that tragedy, That Wedding, is about the woman that Jadyn is becoming inspite of it all. The loss she experienced will always be a whisper in her heart, but learning that you can still continue to live a life full of hope and love and joy after such an experience is part of what we see Jadyn realizing and coming to terms with in That Wedding. After learning in That Boy who Jadyn really is as a woman, in That Wedding, she learns what she can become as a woman with the person she loves by her side. Jadyn's journey has her realizing that perhaps getting married doesn't mean giving up the person you are, but rather finding someone that loves you for that person and making you even better than you even dreamed you could be. How being with and loving your best friend and finding the man you are destined to be with, only makes you more of who you are because they bring out the best parts of you... if you let them. And the question is... can Jadyn let herself be loved like that? So yes, while That Wedding is more lighthearted and funny, and steamy, don't be fooled by thinking it is in any way less profound and moving in Jadyn's life journey.

One of my favorite parts in the book, is the planning of Jadyn's wedding. It is obvious that Jillian did her homework and had a lot of fun with it. It made me want to get married all over again for some of the super cute ideas!

This book is for anyone that wants to be taken on a wonderful journey that will bring you a beautiful romance, laughs, tears, and make you fall in love with a book and its characters! Those are the best kinds of books in my opinion!

3.75 stars...Very sweet finish to a lovely story! Although I did enjoy That Boy more, I had fun following their journey through wedding plans, cold feet, couplescounseling, and finally-- resolution in That Wedding.

I was happy to see the transformation of JJ's character in the end and I enjoyed the concepts of the unbreakable bonds of friendship, and always stoping to smell the roses. Charming series!...more

I would have given this a lower rating, had it not been for how much romance, sweetness, friendship and love there was until the very end. I found the writing style to be higly irritating most of the time. The fact that JJ is in her 20's and still saying OMG!!!Stuff,BOOM...and so many others has to mean that there is something really off. Maybe 3.5. This is a super funny book--I laughed out loud a number of times. But, be warned that there’s lots of mature language (including R-rated swearing), mature conversations/innuendo, off-color/vulgar jokes, and lots & lots (& LOTS!!) of implied sex (none of it is graphic and the actual sex is mostly behind closed doors, but there’s LOTS(!!) of discussion about it and detailed lead-up to it). I can't even say how much I LOVED this book!!! Phillip is truly the PERFECT man!! And the depth of his love for JJ, his Princess, is AMAZING!! I love that this story is from her point of view and we don't get a glimpse into what he is thinking...just when all seems lost and she finally explains her fears, he expresses his too. Well I read "That Boy" By Jillian Dodd in one sitting and the next day immediately bought "That Wedding" and I literally spent 7 straight hours (according to my kindle) finsihing the book, so yeah I guess you could say that the book was that good!! Actually, it was that AMAZING!

That Boy is a tough act to follow. It was perhaps one of the best contemporary romance novel I've ever read this year. I had definitely fell in love with it and had raved about it here. So right after I was done with it, I went on and read That Wedding because I wanted to know what is going to happen to Jaden/JJ's and Phillip's relationship. Though this installment wasn't an emotional ride compared to the first one, I still enjoyed it.

True to the form of the first book, it is written again in "journal-type" and in the protagonist's point of view. It literally starts where That Boy ends, when Phillip and Jaden are now engaged, happy and totally out of control. What I mean about it is I felt like what they usually do all the time is to have sex. It bothers me though because the book was written on a day to day basis and every page, you will be able to read that they had done it again. So if you analyzed it, its like they're having sex everyday which is totally crazy! Even Jaden's past relationships and previous sexual encounters are mentioned and it kinda portray that Jaden's a slut.

Anyways, going back to the book, Jaden has finally found her prince charming and is living a fairy tale life until she was pressured by her soon-to-be in-laws and friends to start planning her wedding. Each and everyone had something to say to her on how her wedding should be that it literally caused panic and instilled doubts on her. Heck, she almost bailed out from her engagement! I am not married yet, but I can feel the pressure and the stress planning a wedding can bring to the bride. Maybe this is the reason why there is a huge demand for wedding planners out there.

Like the first installment, this book had lots of funny scenes again but one thing that made me LOLing about was the spider scene. That one was epic! I just wanted to know how big the spider was and I can picture Jaden's reaction when she encountered it. Aside from funny scenes, the one that got me the most was the whole experience in preparing for a wedding. And the wedding itself plus their voys? that was really romantic.

Once again, this book made me envy Jaden. She has two loyal boys on her side. One is whom she will marry and the other one is a loyal best friend. Lucky Girl!
I am totally sad that this is the end of the road for this series. I wanted more Danny, Jaden and Phillip but I want to say thanks to Jillian Dodd and her novels. Thank you for making me believe that true love - the fairy tale kind, actually exist.(less)

This is a fantastic sequel! I was smiling so hard throughout this book. It's sweet and its quirky. It's adorably ridiculous. It still made me warm and happy at the beautiful and funny relationships. But there are some seriously weird stuff in this one. I really liked how they talked about their past. I also liked how they referred back to Jaydn and Phillip's friendship.

“Damn Phillip, you must've been really in love with her to spend all that time with her, and DO NOTHING.”

The great thing about this book is that it made me laugh crazily but it also made my heart ache for Jaydn. You can see that sometimes even while she's surrounded by friends and her substitute families that she realises that she feels alone without her parents. It takes a while for her to work through her "issues" but she battles through courageously. I like Jaydn because she is such a real character. She's certainly not perfect and sometimes she overreacts or behaves in ways that hurt the people she loves. But overall she is a wonderful heroine who's sarcastic, loveable and definitely a smartass.
Jaydn's voice sounds remarkably like a guy's in this one. It took a while for me to figure out whether I liked it or not. There's other stuff that seems to exaggerate her boyishness. There's also some major awkwardness with the amount of sexual detail she discusses with Danny and Lori. Fortunately, though, while the content is weird, the delivery is not. Everyone is pushing Jaydn towards the wedding but she just wants to relax for a bit after her and Phillip's whirlwind courtship. They engage in a lot of closed-door sex.
Jaydn seriously fights the counseling. It's interesting to see the doubts assail her as the pressure piles on from her future in-laws, her friends, and the fact that she cannot talk about her parents.

Finally Phillip's list of pros and cons was a great way to end the book.

Why I Should Tell Her I Love Her:
-She thinks she's low maintenance
-She has the cutest toes
-She has me wrapped around her little finger, and I don't even mind.
-I'm pretty much madly in love with that girl. (less)

I LOVE THIS SERIES. Now, with that being said, I'd like to add: Jadyn is so f&^&*^* annoying. Like I honestly don't think I have ever hated a book character as much as I despise her. Jadyn honestly hasn't grown up at all. This really should have gone as part of my review for That Boy but one thing that really bothered me is I kept expecting to see Jadyn mature through the years, but there was barely a difference in her way of thinking from fifth grade to high school, and NO DIFFERENCE at all from high school to her current ripe age of 22. It's like she has no sense of the word "maturity". She's selfish, annoying, bratty, annoying, self-absorbed, annoying, stuck-up, annoying, slutty, oh and did I mention ANNOYING AS F*(0?!? The way she acts like she's never wrong and ignores others and blames Philip (again. SO IN LOVE WITH THIS MAN) for everything makes me want to scream. It seems everyone grows as a character but her. Even DANNY has matured in his time with Lori and knows when to admit he's wrong now. UGHHHHHH so many times throughout this book I just wanted to take Jadyn and STRANGLE HER. I realize I'm sounding a little harsh, but that's probably because I'm writing this without actually having finished the book yet. I'm like 5/6s of the way through right now and I'm at a part that shows Jadyn at her most obnoxious. *SPOILER* When she leaves Philip because he "looked shocked" that her drawings were so good and because "they were failing marriage counseling". NO YOU IDIOT YOU'RE FAILING MARRIAGE COUNSELING CUZ YOU'RE A SHALLOW SELF ABSORBED WITCH WITH A BEE. Sorry. I'm really annoyed right now. I'm sure there's a happy ending and once I finish the book I'll be happily in love with Philip and will have totally forgotten about Jadyn again but I just wanted to vent while I have the motivation and it's fresh in my mind.

EDIT: Okay, I just finished the book and I was right...perfect ending that had me smiling like an idiot the entire time I read it. And I was also right about writing the above last night cause I have no motivation to do anything now but to gush about how much I love Philip and even Jadyn because she's lucky enough to marry Philip. Okay, I'll admit, even during the resolution scene where she realizes how dumb she was and makes up with Philip I was still angry with her for being stupid and wanted to kick her. But now, after reading through the entire ending and seeing that she REALLY HAS finally changed and grown up a bit, but still has those fun loving quirky traits...well I ALMOST enjoy her character. Or maybe I'm so high off my love for Philip Mackenzie, a nonexistent book character, that I would love anything and anyone. Honestly in this state, I could probably come face to face with a giant man eating cockroach and just smile at it and invite it in for dinner. (less)

So there were things I liked about his book, and things I didn't like. I definitely liked That Boy way more than this book and I kinda of wish I hadn't read this book because it effects the way I feel about certain characters.

So here's what I liked:

1. Phillip. He's amazing, probably the sweetest fictional male character ever. He is so devoted to Jayden and always has been. He's definitely her knight in shining armor. However, I kind of thought he was a little too laid back at times when Jayden...more So there were things I liked about his book, and things I didn't like. I definitely liked That Boy way more than this book and I kinda of wish I hadn't read this book because it effects the way I feel about certain characters.

So here's what I liked:

2. Danny. God he's just hilarious and usually I don't like cocky guys, but I love him.

3. I liked seeing the characters I loved from That Boy grow up and live their adult lives. I liked seeing Phillip and Jayden's relationship grow and somewhat mature, but only a little.

Ok. Things I didn't like:

1. Jayden. Wtf?? Who is this girl?? She didn't seem like the same girl AT ALL and honestly, she annoyed the crap out of me in this book. She seemed so spoiled and selfish I just wanted to slap her in the face. It really bothered me how she was so flirty with guys, like she didn't respect Phillip at all.

2. I didn't realize how slutty Jayden really was! I had thought after reading the first book that she lost her virginity to Phillip and had only ever been with him. While I was reading this book, I realized that was wrong and she had actually been with several guys before Phillip, which made me sad.

I thought this wasn't explained well in the first book, so I was left really confused and frustrated in the second book when all of her sexual escapades came to light.

3. I felt like this book was much longer than it needed to be and it was really repetitive. Jayden talks about wedding plans, then her and phillip have sex, and repeat. There wasn't much depth to this book until the end when she finally comes to her senses and matures a little bit. I kinda wish there had been an epilogue in the last book that explained the wedding and how it all went down. I don't think there needed to be a whole book about it.

So, all in all, I rate this a 3.5 because I did like it, it kept my attention but it was definitely not That Boy and it fell way below my expectations. (less)

This was a good book except for a few minor issues

1) the focus on Phillip and Jadyn, the inclusion of the other characters seemed so superficial, like they were just there to drive the plot and not characters in their own right

I have to say that after having read and loved "That Boy" by Jillian Dodd, I was worried that I would not like "That Wedding" as much, especially because I usually prefer stand alone books with no sequels. Then to add to my doubts I'm not crazy about reading about weddings. I know that sounds strange but I had a beautiful fairy tale wedding and in my mind nothing can compare. Wow this book was sexy! It was as good as 'That Boy', if not better and was definitely worth the wait.
