Never Seduce a Scot is the first book in Maya Banks’ The Montgomerys and the Armstrongs series, and fun, sexy, entertaining tale! From beginning to end, these feuding clans made this a story filled with twists and turns, situations that were both heartbreaking and inspiring, and kept me turning page after page to see what was going to happen next.
Blurb: Eveline Armstrong is fiercely loved and protected by her powerful clan, but outsiders consider her “touched.” Beautiful, fey, with a level, int

I’ve said it before and I will say it once again, absolutely no one writes a highlander romance like Maya Banks! I love many authors who focus on the Scottish highlands but there is simply something magical and beautiful about Maya Banks’ historicals! Sigh ! Never Seduce a Scot is no exception. It is the first book in Banks’ Montgomerys and Armstrongs series.

Eveline Armstrong and Graeme Montgomery are from feuding clans. The feud has been responsible for many dea...more

Maya Banks is quickly becoming my favorite author of Highlander/Medieval romances. NEVER SEDUCE A SCOT was another winner. It was a sexy, sweet highlander romance between enemy clans. While it was a bit predictable in places, I really didn’t care. The story kept me glued, the characters were endearing, and the romance was swoon worthy.

Forced to marry by the king’s proclamation, Eveline Armstrong and Graeme Montgomery meet just one day before their own wedding. Graeme will respect the king’s wis...more

What a wonderful story!!I absolutely loved this book!!!My first and definetely favorite historical book!!!!

description

The story starts with a century of long feud between the Armstrong and Montgomery clans.
The king, having the support of both of these very strong clans fears that his backing will be weakened severely if these 2 clans kill each other off.
Really, it's just a matter of time before they war with each other.
In a last ditch effort to save this from happening the King decides to issue an edict th...more

3.5 Stars. This was a charming little story, and quite sweet. I had not read Banks earlier Scottish series; but have enjoyed her KGI books, and thought I would give this one a shot. It has been quite a few years since I sat down and read a Scottish historical. I had thought I might miss something reading this book, but apparently this series and the earlier series have nothing to do with each other other than being set in the highlands of Scotland.

The Montgomery's and the Armstrongs have been en...more

I'm so in love.....

When I look at you and see the sun
The love in your eyes
See the day and night
The ending of the pain and hate
The start of a new beginning
A different life with you
You bring me hope
Just like when you walk past me
And I see your hair blow in the wind
You make me breathless
My heart sinks so low some days
But I see you and
You make my heart open so much
It could rip.
This is all because
I love you

You have come to me from a distant land,
Dreamer of dreams, to fill my he

3.5 stars. I'm confused. I'm thoroughly confused. Is this the same author who wrote about a weak-willed woman being repeatedly *cough* utilized by 3 men at the same time in every single possible place there is to utilize a woman? I never would have known that this book came from the same person who wrote the other book if I'd gone into this read blindly. The writing style was completely different.

Okay, I'm not going to lie. Colters' Woman was not the absolute worst book I've ever read, for what...more

I loved this book. I've never read a Maya Banks book before so I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was great. And it isn't easy to win me over when it comes to historial books. I picked up this book for two reasons, first because I think the cover is beautiful, and second because I read the description and was immediately interested in Eveline's story. Once I started it though I was reading because I was so caught up in the story. I loved Eveline's bright look on life and how she didn't let the...more

4 1/2 Lovely Stars! Great start to this Highlander series!

Beautiful story about two feuding families brought together by through a mandated arranged marriage. Eveline, Graeme and their families are resolved to their fate, not necessarily pleased by the king's order, but they obey to keep peace among the clans.

Eveline was one of the sweetest, bravest heroines I've ever read about, I adored her. Graeme was charming, kind, and even though this union was not what he sought or dreamed about for his...more

I haven't read a historical romance in quite a long time. Really... I think it has been close to a year. I don't know why I stopped, but then I decided I wanted to go back to it. I am so glad I picked Never Seduce a Scot, because I loved it!

The Montgomerys and Armstrongs are enemy clans that blame each other for the death of their loved ones. As time passed, their hatred and thirst for revenge grew, but the king was not willing to let them feud any longer. He decides that Eveline Armstrong and G...more

I'd always been curious about Never Seduce a Scot and after having it recommended by enough people, I decided it was definitely time to pick it up. I read it in two sittings (thank you uni for interrupting me *shakes fist*) and had to force myself to be able to put it down. It was just fantastic and I absolutely loved it!

Ohhh, the characters. I fell in love with Eveline and her family right away. Her loving parents and brothers cared for her so very much, no matter if they didn't know if she wa...more

Once I started the audiobook I couldn't wait to get back to it, every free moment I had, my headphones were in and I was IN Scotland. I am a newbie to audiobooks and the narrator, Kirsten Potter, is what I think made this book just come alive for me. I fell in love with the H&h, Graeme and Eveline. I can not count how many times my chest tighten up or my face warmed because of these beautiful characte...more

“You love me,” she said in wonder.
He smiled. “Was there ever any doubt?”
She turned to her father who was standing a few feet away, his arm around her mother. “He loves me!”
Her father’s shoulders shook with laughter. “Aye, I think the whole of Scotland now knows it, lass. Do you not have anything to say back to the lad?”
“I LOVE YOU!” she roared, determined to yell it every bit as loudly as he had.
“Aye, I know it, wife. And the whole of Scotland likely knows it now, too.”

Well damn.

I did not expect this book to be so good. I was fully convinced that it would be one of those books that you could pick to pieces based on its faults but enjoyed despite yourself... like every other Highlander I've ever read.

Not so.

Gaiz.

GAIZ.

There were, like, two sex scenes in this book.

Just TWO.

Do you know what that left time for?

A LEGITIMATE PLOT.

Granted, the other book I've read by Maya Banks, In Bed with a Highlander, did technically have a plot, but it w...more

What a story!!! Loved it loved it loved it!!! ! I'd give it 10 stars, if I could.

She is deaf not daft. She can read other’s lips. She’s brave, intelligent and beautiful. She quite scared at 1st when she heard about her arranged marriage with Graeme. But she gives her hands with all her heart. His clan, Montgomery despises her clan, Armstrong because his father has been killed by her grandfather. She tried her best to wi...more

4,5 Heartwarming Stars - A Lovely Sweet Highlander Romance, Irresistibly Good

I have always thought it is especially romantic when there's a bit of classic "Beauty and the Beast" theme in a story. Never Seduce a Scot is about a damaged deaf young woman, Eveline Armstrong, who, at the king's orders, must marry an enemy clan leader, Chieftain Graeme Montgomery, to bring peace between the clans.

An alpha male in the form of a rugged warrior highlander, that’s caring, sweet and utterly swoony. Graeme Montgomery can’t resist the blonde beauty with her sensuality and her innocence. She can pierce his soul with those eyes and ultimately captures his heart.

4.5 stars. This Highlander romance series is set in Scotland about 1215. This is book 1 -- a wonderful story!! ツ

Characterization of Graeme and Eveline: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Solid! Consistent! These "actors" didn't suddenly behave out of character. With the dialogue exception (see below) the H and h spoke and acted in accordance with their presumed upbringing, past experiences, values, and prior behaviors. Their characters were textured and interesting. Compared to some books, there's relatively little inte...more

This historical romance has a title that doesn't make sense with the plot of the book, and neither does the cover really match the tone for that matter. The story revolves around a woman with a disability stemming from an accident. It is a fish-out-of-water sort of plot where the woman is forced to live amongst people that abhor her for where she came from.

The audiobook narration was fabulous for this novel. I highly recommend it. I listened while traveling in the car for a business trip this we...more

Well, I grabbed this book last night when my daughter took off with my kindle and I couldn't continue the ebook I was on. So I finally got my kindle back and couldn't stop this book to go back to the other.

But Eveline is not the daft simpleton everyone believes and Graeme quickly finds a headstro...more

Great, great book. I was surprised by Eveline's condition, and it made for such an interesting and refreshing read. Loved it! She was a heoine with pluck, spirit, incredible courage and heart. I adored her. Graeme was such an amazing hero and leader. Not perfect, but perfect for Eveline. There's a scene in the end that brought tears to my eyes. I can't wait for the next book.

Hello fabulous! This book was amazing! I would not change a thing. One of the best books I have ever read - where are the 6th star? But then again, I have a very soft spot for stories with a broken but strong heroine and a caring loving alpha to bring her back.

I can't describe how good this book was. Best hero - check. Best heroine - check. Best setting - check. Wanted to switch place with the heroine - check. Utterly romantic - check. Finished with a big grin on my face - check. Couldn't put i...more

(This is a verse from 'I Wandered by a Brookside' by Eva Cassidy and I thought the words fit this particular story rather nicely.)

Rating: B- ... Heat: Hot

I have to admit to a bit of confusion with the description to this book. With words like ‘rare gift’ and ‘magical love’ thrown in, and describing Eveline as ‘beautiful, fey , with a level, intent gaze’, it led me to believe this was possibly a historical-paranormal romance. Which, I have to say, I was really looking forward to… but that isn’t what this book is.

It is a purely historical romance between Eveline, a woman thought to be daft since she does not speak and seems...more
