If one christian woman I love and admire is Joyce Meyers. She knows what she is talking about and what I love about her she keeps it real and we need that in our daily life. We need to keep it real and be real with ourselves and with others. She pratice what she preach. She has been there and know what we all faces in life and what we go thru emotionally.

My advice to all my friends and check her out and read her book it will blow your mind. Her book help not only women but everyone h...more

I liked this book. It challenged me in lots of ways. I am hoping to become more mindful this year. To think about what I'm thinking about. To clean up some of my previously accepted ways of thinking.

Currently I'm slowly going through my Scripture references from this book and trying to get those Scriptures to "stick" to my mind and heart.

She talked about strongholds of the mind. I realised for the first time ever that I have strongholds in my mind regarding my ...more

This is, to me, the best Joyce Meyer book. I think it's what finally broke me free of all the crap I was living with: eating disorders, family issues, divorce guilt, etc. She's straight-forward and clear. I'd recommend this one over all the others. (You don't want to read every book of hers, as you'll tend to see the same stories used to explain different points in more than one book.) I went to one of her conferences because I was so impressed with this book. A guy just released from St. C...more

Joyce Meyer is a minister who writes and tours as a public speaker. She quotes a lot of scripture using many Bible versions who uses personal experiences to explain different points.

Meyer did have some great strategies for getting control of our minds. First and foremost she said that any depression, doubt and bad feelings were direct results of demons working on us. I had not heard anything that clear before. Another point that stuck with me is her using the Isrealites as an exampl...more

This book was one of those life-changing books. It really opened my eyes to see how my thoughts and speach can be either life or death. Not only to myself to others. I learn how to recognize lies from Satan and the Truth of God. I have given out a couple copies of this book. It is fabulous!!!!!!

Excellent Book - lots to take in, lots of lightbulb moments... take your time reading this!
A few "lightbulbs":
**"Our past may explain why we're suffering, but we must not use it as an excuse to stay in bondage."
**How the Israelites took 40 years to make an 11 day journey... Have you dwelt long enough on the same mountain? Have you spent 40 years making a much shorter journey?
**When praying for something but not knowing it is God's will say: "...m...more

Absolutely Phenomenal Book,

Teaches you the practicals of how to train and condition your mind in the waiting period between praying and receiving, or deliverance during periods of trials.

She uses many examples from her own life to illustrate how the process works, and of course backs it up with biblical references confirming this is God's method. An excellent book for someone who like myself, was ingrained with many negative or wrong mindsets when I was younger. It help...more

Great book about being intentional about what you think about and what you spend your time thinking about - great scriptural references to back up what she is saying - as Christians we have been given the mind of Christ through the Holy Spirit, we must decide to use that mind to gorify Him

This book is amazing to say the least. Every Christian needs to read this book because we all do battle against our own thoughts. This book set me free in so many areas when it comes to my thought life. Read it! You will not regret it.
(it also has a workbook but I didn't get that)

A friend lent me this book and it was encouraging. I find comfort knowing the human condition is shared by all of us confronting situations in our minds daily. We are ruled by thoughts as well as presence, and are often present only in our thoughts and not in the moment.

This book taught me something so valuable that I've kept it with me Years later.
In my Early walk with God I struggled intensly with my thought life. I would feel alot of guilt whenever an undesired or unprovoked thought entered my mind. This book showed me that not all thoughts are necessarily thought up by me. Sometimes a thought will pop up in your mind, and just like and internet pop-up, if it's something you don't like all you have to do is hit the closed button and the pop-up will di...more

This book is totally amazing so far. It is true that there is always a war waging and our minds are the field on which that battle is taking place. This book is insightful, passionate, and I like that Joyce shares a lot of her own struggles and stories.

Joyce and I are kindred spirits! Can't remember exactly the year I read this one but it was one of her first books I read after listening to her on TV for a couple of years! She brought me through a great sadness after my Mom died.

a great book to read to help one become more mentally tough, aware, and repsonsive. to learn the real balance of spiritual/natural in your mind, that it really is "ground" we have to win to keep our emotions and thoughts alined with God!

Worry, fear, and doubt are common in my mind. . .it opened my eyes to the fact that Satan is constantly trying to attack me in that way. It's been so long, I probably need to read it again!

I believe Joyce Meyer's intentions are good, but find in my own life that taking your mind off yourself works immeasurably better than battling things out in it.

I didn't like how she always threw in her own translation of what the bible was saying. I wanted to think it through for myself and it felt so pushy. Sorry Joyce.

To be honest, I'm glazing over a lot of the scripture. I've heard this book is amazing, so I'm trying to get at least some nuggets out of it!
