Nicole Unice puts together a great curriculum! She understands the common issues that most (if not all) women face at some point or another -- control, comparisons, anger, and more. It's great because it's just for us normal gals. We're moms, wives, volunteers, bloggers, career women, and we're doing it well ...but we have issues! Nicole really gets into the minds of women and what their experiencing in order to help with these everyday struggles.

I got this book and had to smile at the cover. It really says it all. We all have issues - but shhhhh.....we don't want any one to know we have issues. SOoooo.... we cover it up under that "good Christian girl" facade and plaster on a smile and go through the motions giving all the right "churchy" responses to life while struggling to maintain our "Perfect" exterior we are falling apart on the inside. And so we struggle on the inside - silently - thinking we are all alone in this crisis of ident...more
What are your biggest challenges?
Do you have issues?
How do others see you?
How do you see yourself?
This book focuses in depth on 5 main issues that most women struggle with, along with helpful suggestions and explainations written in a counselor's voice. Women's stories and authors included are brought into the chapters to show how others can identify with the issues being presented and what they have gone through. Also how Jesus fits into all of our issues and challenges (short comings). Include...more

I immediately connected with Nicole! I love how honest she is in She's Got Issues: Seriously Good News for Stressed-Out, Secretly Scared Control Freaks Like Us. She used herself frequently as a negative example. One of the biggest turn-offs for me is when an author only uses themselves as a positive example, trying to hold themselves up as a perfect image. None of us are perfect. I'm about as far from perfect as a person can get, so I don't like reading about people who think they've made it the...more
I am so glad this book crossed my path! With the title and intriguing book cover, you might think Nicole Unice's book is some chick lit read. Boy! Would you be wrong!
She's Got Issues is a self-help book with a Christian spin. If you think that's a turn-off, pay attention: this is not your run-of-the-mill self-help book. Unice begins the book by acknowledging that, as wives, mothers, and friends, we are all flawed. We try to control the world. We live in the shadow of insecurity. We let fear rule...more

*Seriously good news for stressed-out secretly scared control freaks like us*
I first heard about this book through a dear friend and was immediately intrigued. When the DvD series became available through Tyndale Bloggers, I jumped at the chance to read it and review it.
I've always known that I've had a bit of a control problem (and perhaps a few other issues), but didn't realize the cause and effect of them (and all the side effects). This book helped me pinpoint the "why" behind those issues a...more

I didn't want to read this book. I mean, I very much wanted to read it and enjoyed every bit of it but I wanted to engage in conversation about these topics rather than read about them. I'm an internal processor so for me to want to chat something out is unusual. The book pushed me in ways that I needed to be pushed as it opened up corners of my life that I wanted to remain closed. I'm going to have to read it again (with somebody).
Ok ladies, this is a must read. I don't give out that classification to many books, but this one earns it hands down. The author is a Christian counselor, seminary grad who realized that 90% of her counseling clients were coming to her for one of five common issues. She took those five issues, and godly ways of handling them, and wrote one of the funniest, most helpful books I've ever read.
I loved this book! I won it from a blog, or else I probably wouldn't have picked it up because I don't think of myself as a control freak. However, this book is about so much more than that, it's about the main issues with which many women struggle, and written by an author who is a Christian counselor.
