Jewel was attacked at the age of sixteen that left her permanently scarred. When not giving what some guy wanted, he threw acid in her face and now she feels like a monster. So to feel some kind of connection, she applies to Madam Evangeline's 1Night Stand service. But the service sends her to a station...in space. This of course doesn't make her feel better because she thinks it means no humans...more

I really liked Unknown Futures by Jessica Subject. It was tasteful, yet highly erotic and it handled the relationship between two women wonderfully. I like the highly unusual characters in the story and there is one scene that had me laughing out loud, it was great.

Jewel has contacted Madame Evangeline for a one-night stand because she was left scarred after a horrible incident in high school. Since that time she has isolated herself, feeling that everyone is staring at her and that she is nothi...more

I’m so glad that there are a slew of writers putting out f/f sci-fi/F. I don’t mind contemporaries, but I need to mix it up and there just aren’t that many sub-genres in lesbian romance that aren’t contemps.

Unknown Futures is a fairly short story but it did manage to offer a lot and be engaging. I got a good feel for both the main characters and it was fun to read.

The main appeal of this book is both women, their personalities and how their relationship develops. There’s not really a lot of angs...more

Unknown Futures is a heart (and panty) warming tale of finding true love, and recognizing inner beauty. It begins rather oddly, with an abrupt transition from contemporary drama to science-fiction adventure, but quickly hits its stride on the other side.

The story itself centres on a young lesbian who, having been horribly scarred by an acid attack on the night of her high school prom, has spent the last few years of her life hiding from public scrutiny and feeling sorry for herself. She’s not qu...more

This was a good start of an awesome story. I know it's complete but I feel like I want to read more. I would have liked to have had a little bit more description on the tubes and other places around the space station, but I suppose it left it up to my imagination. Which, being a writer myself, made my mind explore the possibilities. A little predictable at times. I would have also have liked to see a little bit more character depth. Flavia just kind of falls in love with Jewel, but it seems like...more

Feel good syfy romance with a good dose of recognizing inner beauty to boot. And I just loved Ms. Subject's world building in this book; at times, some of the descriptions reminded me of something from Star Wars. SyFy and F/F aren't my norm genres to read in, but I did enjoy this lovely addition to the 1NS series and found I flew through it in a matter of hours :) If you enjoyed Bite With Height then you'll probably like this one, too. Although in two separate sub-genres, the 'feel' of the books...more

I'm getting to be quite a fan of the 1-Night-Stand series, even though I'm not reasing the stories in any sort of order. This one picks up on an SF theme that seems to have been developed in earlier stories (and now I want to read those as well). The two heroines are comfortable in their sexuality, but unable to find a partner for very different reasons. Thrown together without Jewel knowing who or where her date will be and without Flavia knowing she has a date, they manage to negotiate their d...more

I do not normally read F/F romance, but I liked this one. The sex scenes were tame, and the emotional connection between these two women were strong. Flavia is a human who works at the Space Station and Jewel, a burn victim, is sent to the Space Station for her 1 Night Stand.

Jewel was a well developed character. But I wanted to know about Flavia. I don't even know why she agreed to work in outer space.

This was a different One Night Stand. Neither women knew until the very end that they were set...more

This book is a little different than I usually read. I read it because it was part of a bundle.

Books that have F/F is usually what I stay away from but I did enjoy this book and glad that I took the time to read it.

When Jessica isn't reading, writing, or doing dreaded housework, she likes to get out and walk. Fast. But she just may slow down if there is a waterfall nearb...more
