The Land of Canaan series has got to be one of my favorite Amish series...ever. If you don't believe me, I dare you to compare them to some of the other Amish books on the shelves and see what you think. If they don't have you glued to the pages like they do me...well then, we might have to have a little chat to change your mind (just kidding, I promise). :o)

I don't know how she does it, but Beth Wiseman has got this incredible way of getting me emotionally invested with all of her stories. I fi

My Thoughts:
The Wonder of Your Love is book #2 of the Land of Canaan series by Beth Wiseman. It puts closure to the unhappy circumstances in the life of Katie Ann Stolzus, due to the infidelity of her estranged husband in book # 1 of the Land of Canaan series.

Katie Ann gives birth to a baby boy after so many years of thinking she would never have a child of her own. But her estranged husband dies before the child is even born.Katie Ann finds much joy and peace with her baby boy and is determine
Good book. Katie Ann is raising her child alone after her husband left her and then died in an accident. She has good friends in her Amish community and at a wedding meets Eli Detweiler. He is visiting from his home in Indiana, where he has just married off his youngest daughter. After seventeen years as a single father, he is looking forward to living his own life and doing some things that he wants to do. He and Katie Ann find that they have a lot in common and enjoy talking to each other. Bot ...more

"The Wonder of Your Love" by Beth Wiseman is the second book of the A Land of Canaan series. Personally I think that this could be a stand alone book, however, I think it is a whole lot better after reading "Seek Me with All Your Heart" first. The background of the story lines and characters help round out this book to where I got a lot more enjoyment out of it. However, there is just enough information for a reader who hasn't read the first book to be able to know what is going on.

Martha didn't disappoint me, she is such a great addition to this book. Love, loss, dissapointment and humor all wrapped up in one book.

This is a beautiful story of love, betrayal and second chances.
Katie Ann's husband left her for another woman. Eli's wife died 17 years ago while giving birth to their sixth child, leaving him to raise the kids alone. By the time he and Katie Ann meet, his children are all grown and married, and Katie Ann has a new baby, conceived just before her husband left her. A few months after that, he died, leaving a lot of unanswered questions.
Then Katie Ann gets a letter from Lucy, her husband's mistres

Katie Ann’s husband is dead, but only after he left her for another woman, leaving her with a baby son he never knew. Eli was widowed seventeen years ago and is looking forward to a little bit of freedom now that his youngest daughter is married. But when they meet in the Amish village of Canaan in Colorado sparks begin to fly. They agree to only be friends, but everyone else around them seems to know better.

As Katie Ann and Eli spend more and more time together, they begin to wonder if God’s pl

This is book 2 of this series; and although you don't have to read the 1st book to be able to read and follow this one; it would help you 'make friends' with the characters within this book. Picking this one up and listening to it immediately after I finished book 1 was just like getting in the car and returning to a very familiar homey place. So yes, you can read this as a stand alone novel or read in order. These books have been a pleasure to read. The first book was a little more in detailed ...more

This is the second book in the series and so far my favourite. In the first book we met Katie Ann and her husband and got to know a bit of what bought them to Canaan for a new beginning. I really liked Katie Ann in the first book and was so happy to find out that this second book was going to tell her story. Due to things that took place in the first book (that I cannot speak of as it will spoil it) this book began very sad and we saw Katie Ann go through many emotions as well as dealing with an ...more
Katie Ann has lost her husband to an English woman whom he moved in with. Then he was killed in a tragic accident. He never knew Katie was having a baby as she did not want Ivan to feel he had to come back just for the baby. She wanted him to come back because he wanted to.

Katie and Martha ( her English neighbor ) are like mother and daughter. They have a few things in common, both are widows and both are afraid to be hurt again. Martha kept her feelings quiet about the man she loved.

First posted on my blog, Legacy of a Writer.

I’m not a very big Amish fiction fan. Not really sure why, but the genre just never appealed to me. Until Beth Wiseman came along with the first book in her new series, Seek Me With All Your Heart, which I read and loved. This next book in the series, The Wonder of Your Love, is a delightful addition to the series that I enjoyed reading.
It was so much fun returning to these characters. I was kinda disappointed not to read more about David and Emily (th

This is the 2nd novel in The Land of Canaan series, which takes place in an Amish community in present day Colorado. Even if you haven't read the 1st book, this works well as a stand alone novel.

Katie Ann Stolzfus is a widow, raising her first child in her 40's. Her baby Jonas has never known her father, and Katie wonders if she destined to be a single parent forever.

Eli Detweiler has come to Canaan from Pennsylvanian for a family wedding and a vacation. He raised 6 children after the death of h

Until recently I hadn’t read any Amish fiction except for a Jodie Piccolt novel a few years ago, but through Litfuse Blog Tours I’ve now read a few. This is my most recent read and tour and I really enjoyed it. I read it all in one evening. I liked that it started with a bit of a mystery. There is a letter from the mistress of the deceased Amish man to his wife. I must admit that I guessed the mystery, it was my first guess, but it was still a good way to grab the reader from the start.

"The Wonder of Your Love" is the latest book published in the Land of Canaan series by Beth Wiseman. The story follows the life of Katie Ann, an older Amish mother to a four month old, Jonas. Ivan, her husband, had left her for an Englisher woman before he even realized that Katie Ann had become pregnant and he died in a car accident shortly after. Katie Ann struggles with feelings of betrayal, loss, grief and trusting God's path for her life. Then she meets Eli, a widower of 17 years. They're i ...more

Katie Ann Stoltzfus is living the life no woman should ever have to live, but to hear an Amish lady is living this life is so surprising. Her husband left her for another woman, and then he died, never knowing the son that God had seen fit to bless their family with. Maybe God knew Katie Ann would need Jonas to go on, to have something to live for, since it was such a shameful thing to happen to her. Katie Ann is a rather nervous new mother, remember her young sister who had just suddenly quit b ...more

The newest book in Beth Wiseman’s “The Land of Canaan” series is a winner!
Katie Ann and her husband, Ivan, had moved from Lancaster County to the San Luis Valley of Colorado to start a new life, but her life turned upside down when after more than 20 years of marriage he left her for another woman – an Englisch woman. She grieves that he died in a car accident before she could him that he was finally a father, but she delights in the joy that the new baby brings to her life. Katie Ann tells he

WAY back when I was pregnant and on bed-rest, I fell in love with Amish books. (I had spent the previous 3 years as a truck driver traveling the country and my favorite place to visit had been Amish Pennsylvania, so this was a way to experience it while stuck in bed.) So now? I still on occasion escape with one of these books for an afternoon and devour the pages.

I was excited to read The Wonder of Your Love, but found myself a bit disappointed. The story as a whole was good, and I loved that i

Love my visit with my old friends. Some I've know for quite awhile now, even if they only had bit parts in this book, was a wonderful time with them.
This is Katie Ann's story, she now has Jonas, her new baby boy. Named for Lillian's Grandfather...who opened these books! Katie Ann is really enjoying her little one, after years of yearning for a baby she now has her own! Ivan has now been gone and deceased for several months, he didn't know about Jonas. The Wonder of Your Love is the second book in Beth Wiseman’s Land of Canaan Series. I fell in love with Beth’s first series that a lot of the characters come from. I really liked Katie Ann in the first book of this series and felt sorry for her. Her husband left her for an English woman. Katie Ann discovers she is pregnant in the first book and now she has a son. Her husband is killed and Katie Ann knows he was her true love and believes no one else will ever be for her. Eli Detweiler went to Colorado for a family wedding. This would be the first of many trips. He just married off his last child and he was free to do as he pleased. He planned to travel a lot. He still had his farm in Ohio, but he would travel as much as he could. Although it was the Amish way to marry soon after the death of a spouse, he had been a widower for 17 years.

Katie Ann Stolzfus lived in Colorado with her infant son, Jonas. She and her husband, Ivan, were married for twenty years before
Katie Ann is just wanting the past to stay in the past. After being deeply hurt by her late husband, she has no intentions of marrying again. Katie Ann just wants to focus on her baby, Jonas. That is until the very handsome Eli visits from Ohio. They somehow have an instant connection but he is not interested in marriage and another baby, nor is she. Eli's wife passed while giving birth leaving him to raise their six children on his own. Now, all of them are grown, have their own lives, and Eli' ...more

The lives of two very amazing women are about to be changed in very different ways. This is the time for second chances and for hope for new beginnings for both of them, if only their hearts remain open to the possibilities of God's answers to prayer.

Katie Ann Stolzfus and her baby boy Jonas have spent the last several months trying to recover from two separate losses. The first was when Katie's husband, Ivan left her for an English woman and moved in with her. Just a few months later, Ivan woul
This is the second Land of Canaan novel. I read Seek Me With All Your Heart prior to this, and thought the characters were familiar. I then realized that readers first met the Stoltzfus family in Beth Wiseman's Daughters of Promise series. I'd read three of those books. To be honest, however, The Wonder of Your Love might be better read as a standalone. I was surprised to learn Katie was a widow; in the previous novel, her estranged husband was still alive. I spent the first couple of chapters w ...more

I picked this book to read to do research on the top ten sellers in Christian fiction. What made them the books that people went to over and over? What formula was used?

Imagine my surprise as I started reading, I became engrossed into the story. Even though I started reading it a few days ago when time permitted, today I sat down and finished the last 200+ pages of the story. I did not want to put this down.

Romance is not my typical genre. The Wonder of Your Love is the first Amish romance I hav
