While I've complained about how SLOW this plot is developing, at the same time, I'm quite impressed at the massive scale this story is told on. 3 families (the Demures, the von Strassenbergs, & the Drexlers) fates are intertwined for generations, each action of each family member propelling the story forward & how she unfolds the story bit by bit by telling the past in one chapter & the present in the other. But still! While each book propels the story another generation & it's ...more

It took me quite a long time to get through this book. I kept putting it down because I didn't want it to be over. I knew once I was finished with it, I would be pining for the next in series (which I now am). As with the previous Von Strassenberg Saga installments, this book had me on the edge of my seat. It is a very intricate series with many characters to keep track of, so I am always so impressed at the ease of the story progression. It is such a thought-provoking and awesome mystery ...more

I've enjoyed all the books so far in this series, and with this one I was racing to the end in search of answers. But with each answer to the saga's darkly twisted plot, another question is created. That's the kind of problem that you really can't complain about when the story is full of juicy, shocking, hairpin turns that leave you flabbergasted and deviously smiling at the same time. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in The Von Strassenberg Saga when it comes out.

I'm holding out hope for this series. I have REALLY enjoyed the premise, the mystery, the intrigue. But I have to say that the series starts to drag with this book. I don't feel like I got enough answers in this installment. Anxiously awaiting a CONCLUSION and not just another installment...but we'll see! I enjoy this author! Clean read!

As a reader, I rate books based solely on entertainment value. It doesn't matter if they're cheesy or cliche or predictable, if they keep me entranced I love them. It takes a lot of skill as a writer to be cheesy, cliche, predictable and STILL manage to be entertaining and entrancing.
As a writer, I studied history, criminal justice, English, business and personal coaching before deciding journali
