4.5 stars. This book should have a half naked, sweaty military guy on the front cover. :-) What a great romance suspense story, you can tell the author really did her research. It was a great mix of military muscle tactics to thwart terrorism combined with a small town life set in the upper Washington state area. The romance was well done too, I just wished the heat was turned up a notch. Great secondary characters, especially Jeannie's friend Montana, (who I assume will get a book soon too?)

4 Big Stars!

This is a new author for me and I really enjoyed this romantic suspense. It was a great combination of small town romance (Pacific Northwest) and military thriller.
Another big plus for me was that both the Hero and heroine were in their mid to late 40's! I rarely see that in a romance and it was a nice surprise. The Hero was a take-charge ex military man (my favorite) and the heroine was smart, generous and struggling to make a new life for herself.
The writing was strong and the sec

Slip into the Night is a fresh real story that it worthy of being made into a movie. Unlike so many of the romances that are out this book contains significant substance. Instead of two characters that could never exist outside of a fairytale world, the characters are believable and their struggles give the reader a glimpse of a captivating real life love story. This is so much more then just a romance, containing action, adventure, suspense, and mystery - this will satisfy the most ...more

“Slip into the Night” was an entertaining read right from page 1 - with great humor, an engaging romance and a lovely setting. The author did a terrific job of bringing the story, setting and people to life for me. I must admit I did find the male characters, especially Kip Hendricks, to be somewhat cliché but hey, for decades I’ve been reading books in which all of the female characters were one-dimensional and stereotypical - so I guess it’s only fair that the men take a turn, right? In ...more
Very enjoyable read. It took me a little while to get into it but once I did I'm glad I kept reading. Jeannie and Kip were a great couple who refreshingly were not in their twenties but in their forties. The terrorism plot was not solved in this book so I assume Slip Into the Night is the first book in a series, which I will definitely continue reading.

Just could not get into this book. The first few chapters made me feel like I was reading a sequel - names and relationships are thrown at you willynilly and in one case seemed to contradict each other. DNF

I took this book along on my iPad on a recent Alaskan cruise hoping for an enjoyable vacation read and I wasn't disappointed, but then I love romantic mysteries and books that take place on/near the water in the Pacific Northwest.

Slip Into the Night is well written, good dialogue, and has well developed characters.

Storyline fell apart for me in places because something would be introduced and then not tied up by the end of the book. It looks like the security agency was tailing terrorists and th

I enjoyed the banter and romance these characters share. Jeannie is a realistic and vulnerable character. She has been through a lot of tragedy in her life but insists on the idea of starting over. She was reluctant at first of a relationship with Kip, but doesn't want to give up on the opportunity of love. She's just a normal woman, not flawlessly perfect or an extreme feminist. I love her relatable qualities and her drive at success.

In the end I found myself glad to have read Slip Into the Ni
I enjoyed this book because it was more mystery than romance, but the mystery wasn’t very suspense. The aspect of the story I enjoyed the most was the description of the Washington area. The author does a great job illustrating the surroundings and definitely allows the reader to fall in love with Kip. I would have enjoyed similar depth in the mystery of the book as I felt it fell flat. The pieces just did not fit together for me, however if the reader is more into the romance novels they may ...more

A very enjoyable read! Part woman's fiction, part mystery, part romance--there is something here for everyone, as well as a chance to spend some time getting to know the Pacific Northwest. And if all the mystery isn't completely tied up at the end, that's okay, because Tracie promises to give us book two in the next year!

A romance book but much more substantial---a mystery to solve too! As a grandmother it was great to read a romance about a woman a little older than the usual 25 year old. I think this would make a good movie.

My writing professor @ the University of Washington always said, "Write what you know and be true to yourself." I feel I accomplished this in my book, SLIP INTO THE NIGHT, taking place in Washington State San Juan Islands with characters over 35+.

I currently live in Northern Illinois but my heart will always be in Washington State. I grew up on Lake Sammamish so boating has always been a part of m
