UniquelyMoi ... So I Can Shine...
It’s been over a year since I read the last novella installment of Julie Garwood’s The Claybornes of Rose Hill series, so I decided it was time to bite the bullet and get it done!

Come the Spring is Cole Clayborne’s story, who I fell in love with in the earlier books. I’ve been dying to read this, but reviews and comments from friends and other readers had me concerned that it might not measure up, which is why I waited so long. I had hoped that maybe if I put some time between my last reading a

Tavsiye edeirm okuyun :)

Sweet story, a little adventure with the normal will he/she or won't he/she. There are two love stories in one in this book. Not as good as the other Garwood stories I've read, but still enjoyable.

The final book in the Clayborne story is all about Cole. He's been searching for Marshall Daniel Ryan ever since Ryan stole his compass from Mama Rose. Daniel took the compass with the sole purpose of getting Cole's help in capturing the Blackwater gang, a ruthless bunch of bank robbers who killed Daniel's wife and daughter. When Cole wakes up in jail with a badge pinned to his chest, he's furious, but after he sees the tragedy of the latest bank robbery, he agrees to help Daniel capture the gan ...more

Come the Spring is the final book about the Clayborne family. Finally, we get to find out what happens to Cole and we meet Daniel Ryan, the US Marshall who stole from Mama Rose. In this book Cole finds himself appointed US Marshall by Ryan and on the trail of a group of blood-thirsty bank robbers. They have three potential witnesses to the latest bank robbery and they have to figure out which of the women is their actual witness. Along the way there is murder, intrigue and of course romance.

Unlike One Pink Rose, One White Rose and One Red Rose, this book is a longer-length novel. There are, to my view, two heroes. Below is a synopsis of the book. Most likely it won't tell you anything other synopses will, but personally, I think this story has too many twists and little surprises that reading more detailed reviews might spoil the whole thing for you. Just my word of caution.

Anyway, this is how it all starts in the first book: Daniel steals a compass that Cole's mother was bringing

So far this is one of the best romantic/action books I've read so far. I've read all the installments of the Roses series by Julie Garwood, and all of them have been incredibly satisfying, but this book is a masterpiece. The whole plot revolved around a mystery. It is true I tend to guess a book's ending and I usually don't miss, but this time I had no freaking idea of who the witness was. I have to say Julie made a good job on making each girl's version believable, and it was hilarious to read ...more

Ok, unlike the previous entries in this series (one overly long book about a mary sue and the gary stu who loved her, and three novellas) this was actually a good book. The reluctant H and the equally reluctant h were decent together. Also the side story romance with the marshall who showed his face off and on through the novellas was interesting.

There were times it was hard to remember this was supposed to be a romance though; it came across as a slightly off western. Slightly off in that the w

This book was amazing! Just like every other one of Garwood's 'historical' novels. It tells the story of Cole Clayborne (newly appointed US Marshal) and Marshal Daniel Ryan as they hunt down the Blackwater Gang.

I have been a huge fan of Cole's since For The Roses and couldn't wait to read his story in Come the Spring. It was fantastic and I got to see another side of his personality. It was a joy to read about Cole falling in love with Jessica Summers, while hunting down murderers. And whats be

I've read all Garwood's romance book except this one and one where the heroine is 15 and has a horrible husband before the hero comes. Anyway, This book borders on suspense thriller kind of genre. The romance is sparse. I read through I think the first 100-110 pages or so and the two characters have not even meet each other. And instead of finding out the women to interview, the author spends a great deal of time DISCUSSING how each of the woman could be the witness. How about just meet the wome ...more

This is the final book in the Clayborne Brides/Brothers series and it was a great shoot 'em up. The sexual tension is ripe. And when we finally get a taste of the bad boys turned good passion it has so been worth the wait. But be warned this book has real Wild West Villians -- the villians are truly bad. If you have a husband who wants to know why you are always reading romances this might be a great book to give him. My husband would say that there isn't enough talk about cowboys and their love ...more

That was one terrific ending to a wonderful series! From the beginning with a bank robbery to the end in a courtroom it was one page-turner of a suspense romance. I liked how Marshall Daniel Ryan also got a love story in the end with Grace. And I can't forget Cole Clayborne finally getting his happy ending as well with Jessica and Caleb. It all had to end at Rosehill with Mama Rose telling a story. Julie Garwood is the best! She kept me wanting more and I got it. Great writing and story telling.

Sobbed at the end because I knew the story was over. "For The Roses" series has been my favorite historical romance series. I have to re-read it every year to revisit my "family". It was this series that made me fall in love with Julie Garwood. The love and affection that she created for these characters was simply amazing.

Julie Garwood books hew to a pattern. Alpha males, often in leadership (of a clan) or law enforcement type roles. Smart, strong females, often sassy. The men may think they need rescuing, but usually they’re pretty capable. Multiple romances among close friends. All those elements are here set in an old-west setting. And like many (but not all ) Garwood romance, the hero is a bit pushy about the fact that the heroine should fall in love with him, but the heroine’s not afraid to push back.

What a surprise this book turned out to be. Around every corner something new was revealed. Even though it was set back in 1880 Montana to Texas, I felt it read as a contemporary mystery. A great gook to end with in the Clayborne series.

The last of the Clayborne brothers, Cole Clayborne is happy as a bachelor. He is arrogant, full of opinions and the best shot around. That is why every gunslinger wanting to make a name for himself seeks out Cole to get him in a show down. He loves ranching, so h

I really enjoy this book. It is the 5th in the series? I have not read any other ones but should. Loved reading about the old west, gangs. Was surprised who the witness finally ended up being and what happened.

While I'm not a huge Western romance fan, I could see that Come the Spring has merit. Most of the characters, the men at least, seemed quite real and likeable, even amusing at times. But the women felt lacking, which seems strange since they were crafted by a woman, but that's the way they came across. I enjoyed reading about Cole, especially his interaction with the baby, Caleb, but didn't cheer with him over his pick of women.

I think I will try reading another of Garwood's books. Though her di

The ending to the Clayborne family saga. Cole Clayborne is a restless soul and he finally meets his match. The one woman who will make him settle down. Daniel Ryan has suffered a tragedy and he lives to avenge the murder of his wife and child. However, there is hope for this rugged lawman also. *I feel like I'm writing the back of a book!*

Daniel and Cole were alike in many ways. Same ruggedness, sense of loyalty and honor, the women they end up with are also alike. Both of the girls are steadfa

Two thumbs up for a great read! This book has a different feel to it than the first two Clayborne books, a little on the dark side. I could not wait to read Clay's book. I knew it would have adventure and I was not disappointed.
Cole Clayborne wakes up to find himself sworn in as a marshall and he has to travel with Daniel Ryan, the man who stole his compass, to track down a notorious gang. While they are trying to capture the gang they are also protecting three women witnesses.

This is my first Julie Garwood book. While I found it rather simplistic, I did think it was a fun read. As in a typical romance book, the characters fell in love really quick. But the premise of a witness to a bank robbery added a fun concept to an otherwise typical romantic novel. I did feel like I was missing part of the story as I believe there is a whole Claybourne Family story prior to this book? Even with that, I still understood everything that was going on. A fun, quick read if you are i ...more

“Cole Clayborne: I'm that transparent?
Daniel Ryan: No, but she is. She's always looking at you like she's thinking about shooting you.
Cole: *grins* It's love all right.
Daniel: How can you be so sure? Everyone who meets you wants to shoot you.
Cole: We're getting married.
Daniel: Has she agreed?
Cole: No.
Daniel: *laughs* Then how do you think you're going to get her to marry you?
Cole: *smiles* Ever hear of a shotgun wedding?
Daniel: No, but I've got a feeling I won't want to miss it.
Cole: Good, because your attendance is going to be required.
Daniel: Why?
Cole: Who do you think is going to hold the shotgun?”
