How does a girl choose between the one who steals her heart and the one who owns her soul?

Matt and Emily were created for a specific job. Raised and trained as the ultimate angel/warrior team, they are sent down to save, defend, judge and forgive, depending on the 'life' they've been assigned. What they don't realize is that the power of human emotions, such as love, anger...more

Until Next Time focuses on the theme of angels, but it is unlike any other angel book. Amy Lignor puts her own unique spin on a genre that has been visited countless times and she manages to successfully craft a story that stands out from the rest. With an intriguing mix of fantasy and romance, and a wonderful set of believable characters, Until Next Time proves to be a wholly original and entertaining read.

The author approached the angel idea in a very interesting and engaging way. For...more

Sadly this wasn't for me. First, I didn't expect it to be set in the 1800s: Me and historicals rarely get along. But mostly I was simply bored, even confused for the most part; going back and forth to the angel realm, her strange dreams, and the actual plot wasn't very clear. I did really like the characters though but that alone was not enough to get me to connect with the story. I still wasn't feeling it at all by 60%, so I figured it was time to put the book down.

Note: As this is a DNF, I wil...more

Full review can be found here.

The first thing that struck me about this book upon completion of it is that the prologue and the epilogue are separate from the story itself. For one, they’re narrated in the first person by Emily herself at some unknown time in her life and they’re in the present tense. Well, most of the prologue is anyway. Part way through it slips into the past tense for a while for no discernible reason before going back to the present tense. They also don’t really make sense w...more

The novel started off slow but as you go through the book it starts to pick up. Your attention doesn't start wandering as it started to in the beginning. We are made to quickly get used to their world and know exactly what is going on, instead of havingto slowly ease into it we are thrust into their world.

As the novel continues, we start to get caught up in t...more

I received a free copy of this book, per the blog tour, for an honest review!

The Gothic glamtastic cover sold me. The text...that pose, the cracking crusted heart....YES, yes and yes! The model sort of reminds me of Jessica Alba. (I'm just saying! *smiles*) And then it's an angel paranormal novel. It's always interesting to read a story with angels who have issues of the human variety.

The synopsis can be confusing, so I suggest do a one over glace, hop into the story, and use it as a refresher l...more

I finished reading Until Next Time earlier this evening and am honestly having a difficult time writing this review. Each time I sit down to write out my thoughts I get all teary eyed again and have to shut everything down and go distract myself for a bit with something around the house. This wasn't a lighthearted easy read but rather a wonderfully bittersweet story that by the end left me reeling emotionally with tears streaming down my face. Lignor created an amazing cast of characters and an...more

Up In Heaven : Matt and Emily were soul mate, raised and trained as worrier angels to save, judge and forgive. At final stages of their training when they were send to earth to experience human life, their emotions, and their pain, Matt took over Daniel’s life and Emily became Liz. While Matt was sent to protect Innocents, Emily’s Job was to help the people based on their needs. But nothing was easy, human life was complex more than they thought, it became more complicated when Emily unexpectedl...more

This book is really to me is 2 stories in one. You have the Angel and Warrior Emily and Matt. The other side of the story is Liz and Daniel humans on earth.

I personally loved the story of Liz and Daniel more than Emily and Matt.

When the story takes place as Emily and Matt it has a religious feel to it. The Saints guide Emily and Matt into their jobs on earth.

For a person that is not religious sometimes the Emily/Matt parts were hard to get through. It was not over powering religious though.

Until Next Time breathes new life into the sometimes over-done Angels theme, with its refreshing and bold concept. Amy Lignor cleverly weaves a spellbinding tale around old beliefs, bringing about new ideas and questions on the ‘other side.’ This is no beach read as the book demands your attention from the offset, with it level of detail requiring thought and concentration, and it is definitely on the older end of the Young Adult scale.

The characters are tremendous: Emily is a tortured soul, fil...more

Has anybody else noticed I seem to have a special spot in my heart for supernatural like books? Because I do and I'm OK with that. I will tell you right off the bat I liked this book not because it's tremendously well written or because the story is that dynamic, but because it's like two stories in one.

First off you have the Matt/Emily story line and then their story line as Daniel/Liz. You know what they are supposed to do when they leave their angel bodies and come down to their human shells...more

Cover/Title

When I was first approached about joining this tour, I looked at the cover first and was immediately drawn to the darkness of it. The lady on the front could be a stone angel that graces cemeteries, except for her human face and hair.

The title intrigued me ... Until Next Time ... Did that mean until the next life? Next relationship? Next situation? With a title so open to interpretation, I eagerly read the book summary and decided to give it a shot.

Emily and Matt are angels and soulmates. they have just gone through their training and will soon be sent down to Earth on their first mission. although equipped with certain powers, they will have no memories of their angelic life while on assignment. not remembering or recognizing each other was part of the deal. falling in love with someone else was not.

This is definitely an interesting story. I was intrigued from the first time I saw the cover, and then once I started reading I was absolutely hooked. I’ve read a few different angel stories lately, and they were all vastly different. I think that is what is so great about these types of stories, there are so many paths you can take.

In Until Next Time we meet Matt and Emily, angels. One on a warrior path, and one on an angelic path. Both sent to Earth together to inhabit a person and live their...more

Ms. Lignor has written an inspiring and touching novel in Until Next Time. Created and trained in Heaven for the journey to Earth to inhabit human bodies and lives of those who have had their souls released, Emily and Matt must learn to deal with human emotion and gather information at the same time. Through returning to Earth many times in many lives, both Emily and Matt as well as Heaven will learn much about the human world and how things get so bad or can go so well. Can Matt and Emily learn...more

When I first started this book, I didn't think that I was going to like it. It starts with Emily and Matt in the author's view of Heaven engaging in a battle that was meant as both punishment and training. The whole Heaven scenario in the beginning just felt contrived and unrealistic.

But then we start to get a little more information as Emily starts to reread her and Matt's first story about their first journey down to earth. She becomes Liz and Matt becomes Daniel. They are 2 people living in...more

I have a passion for angel/demon books. You will find the scattered reviews throughout my blog because they are one of my favorite paranormal aspects. This book however, blew me away. I reached out to me on several levels, held me captivated in its grip, and refused to release me even after I read the last page. This was one of those books that goes on your top shelf, one that you will re-read during your brooding or theological times and think what if? We have all met, at one time or the other,...more

Emily and Matt have spent their entire existences being trained to be sent to earth for very specific reasons. When their time finally comes, they are told that they will take over the lives of 2 deceased persons that left the world to soon and still had much to accomplish. Then the other shoe drops: Even though Emily and Matt have been trained to be the ultimate angel/warrior duo, when they descend to earth they will become Liz and Daniel. Emily/Liz and Matt/Daniel will have no memories of thei...more

This book was exciting. I didn’t know what I was getting myself into when I first agreed to read it for the blog tour, but overall, I’m very glad that I did!

Until Next Time tells the story of Emily and Matt, two angels who are sent to Earth to further understand humans and to gather information. But, not everything is always as simple as that.
It was mysterious, creepy—dark at times and I loved it! This isn’t your typical light and fluffy angel story—it’s so much more than that.

I want to start off by saying that I'm not the biggest fan of stories involving angels, but this book was a great refreshing take on the topic. Right off the bat we're thrown into an action scene that makes you want to know more about the characters because you automatically feel for them.

I'd usually find this type of plot confusing as it has a double plot of sorts, but it somehow worked really well with this story. One story follows Liz and Daniel while on earth, as the other follows their oth...more

This series starts out with Emily and Matt getting ready to go down to Earth another time. Emily is an angel and Matt is a warrior. They are being sent to Earth in order to gain knowledge for their side of the war. They have been trained for this for a long time. In order to do that, they need to review the previous times that they have been down in order to rid themselves of anger. Emily doesn’t want to go because of her previous experiences. Matt and Emily sit down in the library and review th...more

As a reader who is not generally a fan of angel based books, I was a bit wary going in to Until Next Time. They have a tendency to be a little heavy handed in the religion department most times. I'm happy to say that Amy Lignor's book was an exception to that rule. Although Matt and Emily's story is of course religiously based, it doesn't overshadow their own intriguing plot line. Lignor allows the reader to meet some of the more prominent names in the bible, each in their own interesting and so...more

Dealing with love, duty, destiny, and difficult choices, Until The Next Time is a beautiful book in many ways.

RATING : 4.25 DANIEL/MATT, JASON & CHARLES STARS!!

‘Until Next Time’, was a very surprising read. Amy has done a wonderful job of bringing a very original take to the Angel genre. It was quite an amazing read in parts. I really felt quite taken in by the story and the emotion.

Matt and Emily are soul mates in Heaven. Matt has trained to be a warrior, well a warrior Angel, for the good side and Emily is an Angel. Both Matt and Emily go down to earth and lose the memory of who...more

Sometimes it’s hard to convey in a short review just how a story makes you feel. If nothing else, Until Next Time will make you think, question, and feel. Whether or not you’re an angel fan, this story touches on some deep emotions and issues of the heart that we all can relate to—the battle within ourselves that questions what is right and wrong, and the struggle of finding our way in life against all odds. I sat back and thought for a long time before I was able to start writing what this stor...more

When I was first offered the chance to be part of the blog tour for Until Next Time by Amy Lignor, I jumped at the chance since not only did it look like a fabulous book but also I'm always up for giving an indie press a try. Luckily, Until Next Time ended up being a great start to a series, as it contained characters to root for and like as well as a plot line that will surely grow to be even stronger as the Angel Chronicles books continue.

Until Next Time is a timeless story about faith, destiny, and true love. Although there were some rough spots, overall, I truly enjoyed this novel. The story was unique and intriguing. When I first saw the summary of Until Next Time by Amy Lignor, I was very intrigued. It seemed that the author had taken a different and somewhat unique take on angels. When I got the opportunity to participate in a blog tour for this book, I was beyond thrilled. Due to the mixed reviews that this book has received, I was a bit wary to start reading. Fortunately for me, Until Next Time didn't let me down.

Angels aren't really the first fantasy creature I read about, but I've got to say they aren't that bad! Until Next Time doesn't deal with angels on earth, but rather is about the souls of angels using human shells to learn more about the human race and emotions. I loved how the book started with the future and Emily looking back at her time on earth, then starting the story in the present time. It was really intriguing and made me want to read more to see why emotions were so high about her fall...more
