This is a book about knowing right from wrong and your friends being there for you when you need them. Jaris's friend Trevor is dating a girl named Vanessa who is only going out with him because he has a job and he gives her money when she asks for it. A leveled reading selection for urban teens. While the plot points were obvious and the language often clunky, this title and its companions in this series could be great choices for librarians and educators working with reluctant teen readers who are far below grade-level.
