Fifteen-year-old Samara McKinley is not your average teenager. Unlike her best friend, Emma Taylor, Samara’s life does not revolve around partying and trying to fit in at school. In between playing the peacekeeper for her troubled family and crushing on the cute new boy at school, Samara sets out to stay to true to herself. Luke finally asks her out after a game of beer pong at one of Emma's party. At first, Luke and Sam have great chemistry and Luke plans a romantic stargazing date. But that al...more

This was an amazing book. I have read other books by Jody Morse and Jayme Morse and I loved them but I seem to love this book even more. There are so many shocking bits that drop your jaw. Also this book sends your emotions running high! And I love Luke but I also love Declan! I don't know how she was able to pick between the two packs, it was hard for me to think which one I would pick!!! There was only one bit I was really angry at. It was when Declan declared his love to her and she turned in...more

I bought this because it was $2.99 for all 4 books on my Kindle. It looked like a good series. Which don't get me wrong I liked the story line and the Characters. It's a bit repitive. I skimed most of it becuase they would repeat or say the samething they said at one time in the book. They did this a lot so I skimed through all 4 books. Around the 3rd book is when it got interesting for me. But almost all these books were pretty predictiable. There needs to be some corrcetion in spelling and gra...more

What I liked:
-Writing style. I felt the writing style in this book was a little better than it was in the first Briar Creek book—and I liked the brief Briar Creek namedrop in this book. The writing was a little more consistent, and it felt more mature.
-Declan. I liked his character and found him to be the best character in the entire book. He was patient and understanding and blunt, which was the kind of friend Samara needed. However, simply calling him the main character’s best friend does not...more

This book drove me bat-shit crazy. The main character was insane. I have no idea how she was so torn between the two packs for so long. Seriously!?

Okay lets see, on the one hand the first pack has my brother and best friend in it but the alpha is a complete PSYCHOPATH and is going to start killing other pack leaders to consolidate power. The other pack has my cousin, the dude I like and some all around decent human(er, preternatural)beings in it. Gee, I don't know... decisions, decisions.

This book is really aimed at the younger kids. Probably between the ages of 10 to 13. Although I would have liked for the writing to be a bit more developed, I can understand this book wasn't written with my age group in mind. The story was interesting, and I could tell this author will continue to develop, because she already has the gift of great storytelling. You can teach a person to write using perfect grammar and incredibly descriptive words, but you can't teach imagination! Jody Morse has...more

I don't tend to give one star reviews, but this book was terrible. There were so many plot holes, grammatical errors, spelling errors, contextual and sentence structure problems, and terrible world building that it was a chore to finish. The characters were uninteresting and the writing was childish. Unfortunately, I bought this whole series without reading a chapter first but that is my fault. I scanned through the others in the series and they are just as bad.

This book was good, and while I liked the characters, I didnt feel that "connection" with them that really makes a book stand out for me.
The drama angst that this girl goes through irritated me, but that is just me, I hate that, while other people thrive on it. If I had been Sam I would have said fuck you to all of the packs, and went on my merry way.
I just downloaded the 2nd book in this series, so we will see how the story goes.

-SPOILER ALERT-
It has great potential and it was something to read I suppose, however the plot was very predictable throughout the entire book. There was very little mystery and action to keep me interested throughout. Luke being her mate? Boring and lame. It was obvious from the beginning. Would have been better if it turned out it was someone else or something along those lines.
Jillian Ridall
I really like this book. The details are really good, however, they can be a little drawn out, I wanted to skip paragraphs because the details became too much. But overall it was a great story, but I feel like there is a part of Luke that isn't there or right. He just seems...off. But it makes me want to read more to discover the truth of his true meaning.

I loved this book and want to give it five stars, but they were times when I couldn't comprehend a sentence (every one I asked couldn't either) or a few spelling mistakes. Some times I wondered where the books editor was. Other than that, the book had a good plot and I loved most of the characters!
Rhonda
Interesting werewolf tale. I like the main character although the whole all packs want her and she has more than one mate (one for each different pack) was a little aggravating at times. I have already started the next book in the series and am hooked.
Stephanie
I haven't read a book that I absolutely had to force myself to finish in a long time. The book was lacking transition from one scene to next, the one action scene was cut short for the cliffhanger. I will not be reading the rest of the series.
Victoria Rapaglia
This first book in the series was so amazing written that it kept me till the end. I fell in with Samara and how her life went from normal to changing in every aspect. I thought it was awesome how she except the change and handle it all.
Missy
The book has a great stroy/plot that keeps you intrigued from the start. As the book progressed the characters continued to develope. The only thing in the first book I disliked was some of the emotions seemed off.
Kasey
This book was terrible. I had to set it down after only getting to 123 pages. The writing style was awful and the characters felt flat and had no emotion to them. I felt like I was reading a poor fan fiction.
Lindsay
I was skeptical from the reviews on this book on amazon, but really liked this book. I like the authors different pack set ups and the mate thing going on with Samara, Jason and her Best-friend I liked too.
Vanessa
It was a good book but the way the main character kept asking dumb questions about things was to much and sometimes the details became to much but other than that it was really good.
Tia
This novel seems a bit silly to me. It sounds like the V pack is a bunch of power hungry freaks but I feel bad that Sam's brother and friends are on it.
Janysa

This book was rushed, but I liked.
I AM SO CONFUSING WITH THIS STUPID END! I guess I have to read the another one.
Sydney Horan
It was really interesting, it was very creative how they set up the "pack" structure and all of the characters are to love.
