En bok om de val man gör, står det i baksidestexten. Och det är väl just det som berättelsen lite kryptiskt handlar om. Kyle Chase är 15 år och skolan har precis börjat. Han är fortfarande en hoodie, fortfarande kär i Ashley Bianchi och bryr sig fortfarande inte ett dugg om skolan. Kyle har ”kommit på fel spår”, men även fast han är medveten om det orkar han inte göra något för att ändra på situationen.
