So here’s what I think for the ‘Guardian Trilogy’ (may contain spoilers)...

I enjoyed reading ‘Fallen’, but for ‘Eternity’ and ‘Reckoning’ it’s a different story. It became boring for some reason. Book 2, which is eternity, is quite similar to Lauren Kate’s ‘Passion’ of the ‘Fallen’ series, which I find boring as well. Although I think Eternity is less boring, it’s the same concept as Passion. And how many times does Maggie and Eran have to say that they have this certain effect to each other? L...more

I'll review this as a series since I have read them all. If you like a book with gaping plot holes that goes round and round and around in circles then this is a series of books for you. But I'm going to address some issues below so spoiler alert.

1. If alterums or whatever are good souls who have fell to earth and Eran falls and is an 18 year old when he falls (the same for Gershome in book 3) then when in Paris how come both Maggie and Eran are both children who were born with parents??? I thou...more

Celeste's review: 4.5 stars! I was eager to start the final installment immediately after I finished Eternity. The pressure was on for Maggie to defeat the Fallen Ones or be defeated herself. I wasn’t crazy about Maggie heading out on her own, she seemed a little foolish thinking she could take the mission on all by herself. I know it is something we see a lot in books-the heroine or hero has to do something solo to save the others. I’m just not a fan, but the rest was so well written I could ge...more

This book (and this trilogy) was amazing. I finished it in a couple of days and just could not put it down.

Yes, some parts were a little cheesy, but the storyline was just so well thought out that I looked passed the cheesiness and just enveloped myself into the story. Admittedly, I was kind of obsessed with this trilogy. When I was at work, I wanted to come back home to pull out my Kindle and finish the next chapter and move onto the next book.

I was so invested in these characters that I was a...more

Phwoarrrrrr. That is the only sound that comes to mind. This book was fully made of awesomesauce!

The awesomeness started in the first page and kept going right up until the last word on the last page.

Magdalene (Maggie) & Eran were even better in this one, I didn’t think it was possible. They are continuing their mission to eradicate the Fallen Ones to eternal death to save the alterums as well as the human race, but also so they can finally focus on their relationship and just being togethe...more

Okay,

So I just finished reading this book... And I did enjoy it!

I first came across this series several months ago when I was waiting for Fallen Eden by Nicole Williams to be released. I thought, Oh what the heck, it's $.99, why not give it a try! Well, let me tell you, I was glad that I gave it a try. I enjoyed it so much that I continued w/the second book Eternity, and then was surprised a couple of days ago when I discovered that Reckoning was out! I put another book that I was reading on ho...more

The plot was interesting. Messenger, Maggie, bound together with a guardian, Eran. They had been together through several lifetimes, their lives hindered by their duties and the war against the fallen ones. Revelations of how Eran had saved some of Maggie's past lives were heart-wrenching. Ezra, Rufus, Felix, Ms. Beedinwigg, Campion, Gershum were all very well written that I could almost see and hear them as I was reading the pages. I had to take a star off because of some of the inconsistencies...more

Amazing! Laurie Falter is a genius in this series. I'm talking about love, action, and suspense. Characters that are gutsy, herolike, lionhearted, attractive, charming, and pure evil.

We start with Magdalene who will go to no end to protect the one's she love. She is a tough cookie who turns into mush when she is around her loyal and devoted guardian Eran. Eran being very aware that Maggie is stubborn tries to keep her away from the war because her death from a Fallen One will result to Eternal...more

And... I'm done. :/ I hate it when I get to the last book in a series. It's depressing because I become so attached to the characters and their world.

1) again, I truly love this world. At least for me, it's different - unique and creative - and it's rich. There are still a few nuances, rules, and whatnot that I don't know (and would like to), but overall the author created a truly fantastic setting. A for that.

2) the two protagonists just stole my heart. Maggie was strong, willful, smart, tale...more

Reckoning is in my opinion the best of the three. I did not feel like Falter rushed the ending, rather she let the ending come out organically. I was very pleased with how this series ended and I would recommend the entire Guardian Trilogy to anyone considering reading it.

Unlike the previous novels, Reckoning begins with action and keeps up the momentum with ease. There was only one occasion when I felt like the book had done a 180 and everything just stopped. Even then I think this pause was ne...more

Wow!! Again, this series was amazing. Laury Falter spent very little time adding too many details or extra "fluff" to these books, as most authors end up doing (and ruining it).

This last book, was a perfect ending. I mean, although I had an idea of how the ending may be, I still felt every emotion along reading! Every embarrassing and frustrating moment Maggie came across, I felt as I read. Most especially the loving bond between Maggie and Eran, just the right amount! There wasn't much to make...more

I enjoyed this book so much I couldn't put it down! I enjoyed how Magdalene started from the beginning of the book doing whatever she could to protect those that she cared about. While in the background Eran never leaving alone. The relationship between the two of them shows that they are both indpendent and strong but still need each other.

I also liked how Laury Falter allowed us to get a glimpse at some of the main Fallen Ones. I was surprise to see the real reason why and who Abaddon was rea...more

The last book of the Guardian Trilogy unfortunately was slightly disappointing. Don't get me wrong, I still liked the series overall but I was a little let down with the last book.

As the war between fallen ones and angels grow, the threat of the fallen ones magnifies as they unleash darker creatures that can send everyone including humans to eternal death. Maggie is determined to rid the world of Fallen Ones and to keep her loved ones safe but as she treads deeper into her obsession she realize...more

Hmm...not my favorite of the trilogy. As I said before, the book needs more editing but that wasn't my biggest issue with it. This book is so violent and repetitive. Maggie is now hunting Fallen Ones and the author takes us along on her pursuits. That's ok but I don't think we need to be a witness to every single slay. Maggie and Eran have such a great love story and I wish the author spent more time focusing on them then on the battle between the Alterums and Fallen Ones.

I am going to read her...more

I'm not sure why this series didn't capture my interest, as its the type of book I usually read. I found myself getting bored with it and frustrated at the fact that these 2 'alterums', who have lived for many centuries and were fighting a war against the fallen, were required to attend school and sleep in separate rooms etc? I mean, in the whole scheme of things, returning to school after it all ended surely wouldn't have been at the top of my list of things to do?
Other than that, I do like th...more

The author redeems herself slightly by the end of the trilogy with a plot that is slightly better thought out. Overall I thought the story had tons of potential..... BUT for me, it just hadn't been developed enough. It felt rushed and as a result there were lots of loose ends which were frustratingly unexplored or which just didn't add up. The complexities of the evolution of Alterums, Fallen Ones and Elsics even seemed to confuse the author which in turn certainly confused me.

Book 1 & 2 were awesome! Book three I stopped reading at 46%. Bored me to death!!!! Have no idea where the book is heading, the story is just going around and around and around in circles!!! What a massive appointment! I am the easiest reader to please as is indicated by the number of 5 ratings I give out. So to not finish a book through pure boredom is a serious decision for me! Sorry Laury, you totally lost the plot this book!'

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series although I can put it down which I think is a little sad. I don't think it is that well written, when compared to fallen, twighlight and the hunger games series unfortunately. However I have continued reading it. I think it has a good story line although some key parts could be more in detail fights with fallen one's for example.nether the less a good book which I have enjoyed reading x

Everything comes full circle in this book - a fitting end to this trilogy!

We finally see Maggie kicking some serious butt! She is less winy and more determined! Bolder and braver - just the thing I was waiting to see.

The romance is still too fluffy for my liking but the credibility of it is there - I believed that Maggie and Eran were soul mates transcending centuries and dimensions.

As a whole, I found the series hard to get into at first but it does get better with each book :P

Reckoning was my favorite book in the Guardian Trilogy. I loved the intense emotion, action and pure love. For me, the mix was perfect. I loved being kept in suspense. I couldn't put down any of the three, but this one I read in just a few hours.

I found it refreshing to have resolution at the end. There are very few books I finish feeling satisfied and content, and Reckoning makes that short list. Loved it!!!!

Definitely a book you should pick up and read. Of coarse you might want to read the rest of the series first, just so you know what's going on. When I was reading my reactions were explosive!! My mom would turn to me and ask if I was alright. I loved the speed and rush of the story plot! It wasn't slow an boring like usual finale.
I was saddened when I read the last chapter! I can't believe that was the finale!!!

wow. wow. WOW. Amazing series with an ending I never saw coming. This was definitely one of my favorite book series I've ever read. The twists and turns kept me excited, the pace was perfect. Not stretched out, not too short either. The characters were strong in every way. I was sad it ended, but I know I ail read it over and over. A job well done, Laury.

This was a great ending to the trilogy. Aria and Eran forever together. I was skeptical at the start of these three books but was pleasantly surprised at the story theme (angels - guardians, fallen ones, and alternums. Loved it. I would recommend all of them.

Great ending wasn't expecting what happened
And for eran to lose was shocked!! In all loved
These books read the three in a little under three
Days! Not very long but very enjoyable

Wile these character' show many flaws in this book, the story seemed to stretch a bit long. I did swoon at the end. The key isthat she is THE messenger...the last...

Wonderful final book. I felt complete when this ended. More errors in this book than the other two, but not enough to make me kill anything, lol!
