I picked this up after Nancy's review; I second everything she said. I enjoyed flipping through this and seeing the visual study of everyday objects (and some not-so-everyday). I decided I don't get much out of digital mockups of designs, but I love when there is a real object that has been photographed. Also, should I ever be interviewed for a book such as this, I will not say "to design means not to design." Fun stuff -- form and function still blend in some very space-age-looking ways, and ...more

Sumptuous! Super smooth paper and all those shiny pictures. Just enough text to tell you what's what (and remind you that artists' statements aren't usually a designer's forte), and a satisfying range of projects (from bike shoes with a built-in pant cuffs to way fancy airplanes).

Most likely to succeed? As far as I'm concerned, it's Pearsonlloyd's "Universal Hear-Ring" -- hearing aids that are as fun and glamorous as we let our eyeglasses get.
