4 Fabulous Freebie Stars!!

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this story, and what I initially thought to be an unrealistic plot, turned out to be almost believable! Everything had an explanation. Okay, is it likely this could happen in real life? Maybe, it's a bit over the top, but I've seen stranger things happen. The author did a great job of allowing the reader into the lives of the characters, and giving us what we needed to put the pieces of the puzzle together. There was mystery, suspen...more
The story was sooo intriguing that I couldn't resist reading this book! Who wouldn't? *wink*

A woman, without memory of her prior life; a man (rich, gorgeous... bla, bla, bla), crazy in love with his dead wife...

What do you think? Who is the woman?

The story is interesting and it should have made a very, very good thriller, but... to me it dragged a little. To much time was spent in inner, Kate's or Ryan's, musing about what is happening and why.

At the beginning, Kate's perplexit...more

This novel started out with the prospect of being a good thriller, however I soon became disappointed when I added up the cliches, repetitions and unbelievable aspects.

The heroine, Kate, does not deeply question her circumstances and we hear little about her life after her air crash or initially about the injury resulting from that. The unsympathetic hero Ryan, and "his" daughter are obnoxious to say the least. Nine years old and as nasty as that already, with no censure from her father? The min...more
SPOILERS.. not that there is anything new then what you read in the synopsis.

The mystery, the passion, the heartache, the joy...

THIS BOOK. This book had me gripped till the very end.

What would you do if you couldn't remember anything in your past? Everything you knew about yourself was gone and all that is an empty mind. What if you had to be told who you were, where you grew up, who your friends and family wer...more

Kate Alexander has the perfect life…. She thinks… Well her friends and husband tell her she does.
Married to a successful Doctor for 7 years. Has a beautiful son Reed. A great job.
She just wishes she could remember it... and fit into it….

Kate had a car accident a year and a half ago and now has amnesia. The problem is she can’t remember anything from before she woke up after 4 days in a coma. She is ridiculously smart and does well in her profession, the part of the brain that has...more
Really liked this one. First time reading this author. OK, we might have to suspend the disbelief a bit with the storyline but that's what fiction is all about. Loved the main characters, the cheeky 9 year old daughter, even the little we saw of the mother in law. Great secondary characters in the brother and the lawyer. Have never read this author before but the storyline flowed and of course we got our HEA. Not sure what her other stuff is like - is it contemporary? Some of you got it as a Fre...more
This book had a very convoluted plot when it starts of the heroine is in her doctor's office getting her check-up done and wondering about her husband and how it doesn't feel like she is living her life and that her marriage doesn't seem right and then she gets the news the plane her husband was on crashed and he's dead and when people are trying to console her, she just wants them to leave and leave the city. While going through her husband's papers she finds disturbing information, instead of...more
Wow, this book took me by surprise. I don't read a lot of romantic suspense, but it’s been sitting on my kindle forever and I randomly started reading it today and couldn’t put it down. What an amazing story!

I can’t really say much about the storyline, because a big part of this book is the mystery, with twists and turns all over the place, and my inner conspiracy theorist was going crazy! But it’s also a story about family and, of course, there is a beautiful love story, and that was something...more

Holy Sh*t! Why didn't I knew that this book existed? It is THE BEST!

Wait for Me was a coincidental read for me, usually I plan every week what I'm going to read, but few days ago I was surfing through Amazon freebies list, and this one in particular caught my eye. Maybe it was the catchy name or the synopsis indicating an a second chance relationship with a little bit of amnesia twist, whatever it was I'm so glad I found this book. It was so unexpected, and everything...more

Well the premise of Wait For Me sure had me intrigued and eager to start this latest contemporary romance from Elisabeth Naughton.

How horrifying must it be to awake from a coma, not remembering anything about your past life and having to rely on and believe everything you are being told by someone you trust, someone who claims to be your husband. Kate Alexander finds out one day when her whole world as it’s existed for the past 18 months since she woke up from a coma has been a lie. Bu...more

One of these days I'm going to learn that freebies are all too frequently not worth the price. If you can overlook the technical errors such as grammar, improper word usage ("alone" when the word is "along," "sinking suspicion" when the popular phrase is "sneaking suspicion"), and 48 uses of variations of the phrase "eyes slid shut," there's still the matter of a hero who is an angry jerk utterly uninterested in comprehending, much less empathizing with, the agony the heroine must be experiencin...more
Spoiler-free review. (And there's a lot to spoil.) Wait For Me is so seriously implausible, you might want to think of it as science fiction rather than romantic suspense. (I was, in fact, strongly reminded of a particular episode of "Star Trek: Voyager.") Once the premise is accepted however, it does an excellent job of showing what it might be like if this bizarre event actually happened, with results that had my heart breaking and my hands glued to my ereader. What happened is so awful, and t...more

A really high-intensity romantic suspense centered around cancer pharmaceutical-testing. This book has a fantastic cast of characters, two great romances for the price of one, and just a really good book by Naughton, whose "Stolen" series is one of my favorites.
"I just realised life is precious. That you gotta go after the things youb want, because they might not be there when you finally pull your head out of your ass and realise they're important."

This is one of those times where I thank the lucky stars that something like amazon freebies exists. Because if this didn't pop up on my radar as a freebie I probably never would have picked it up. This entire story blew me out of the water with its tragedy, its honesty and its emphasis on second chances....more

I am a big fan of Elisabeth Naughton's Eternal Guardian's series as well as a contemporary romance/romantic suspense lover, so when I saw this title free on Amazon I took over my kid's tablet and got to reading...and reading some more...and before I knew it, it was 4:30 in the morning!

Kate Alexander is a woman without a past. Her memory, and almost her life, lost in a car accident eighteen months ago, Kate is trying to get her life back on track with a husband she can't remember and a young son...more
I honestly do not undestand why readers gave this book 4 and 5 star ratings. I agree with other low reviews - It started out great and could have been a strong book because of the plot. I truly wanted to love this book, however, it became too rushed and chopped up. This is not a series so it was really disappointing that more time wasn't put into the story as the reader is left with alot of unanswered questions. It was also annoying that the lead female character was in a constant battle of not...more

This book had serious potential. The story was captivating at first, but about halfway through, it turned into smut which I didn't care for. Didn't care for the language either. I did feel the need to finish it just to see how it ended. Not impressed.

Yay! Finally a good book to end my dryspell of not-so-good books.

Can I just start by saying...I really loved this book!!

Kate Alexander was involved in a car accident and has lost her memory. She can't remember her past, which includes her husband Jake and her son Reed. She finds herself feeling like she's living the life of a stranger. She can't remember anything from her past so she depends on what others have to tell her.
One day that all changes. Her husband is a passenger on a flight that c...more
Some minor spoilers though I'm trying not to spoil too much.

I loved the story from the beginning, which came as a pleasant surprise to me seeing as it was free on amazon. I was captivated from the first few words. You could feel the emotion, the heart-break on Ryan's part.

The middle was good except when they finally fall into bed together and have sex again, and again, and again.... it was a few too many times without a great deal of deep conversation.

The end was... well it was okay but I felt...more

Saw this on my timeline, saw all the great reviews, got it for .99.

I'm not putting the synopsis here, as one can read it above. BUT will say it drew me in. Sounded fascinating and right up my alley.

It did keep me clicking through the pages, that's for sure. But I was left with lots of questions. LOTS of them. There are so many plot holes and lost plot threads that I was finally left shaking my head. I'm giving it a three stars because I did read the whole thing and it did keep my wondering abo...more
Absolutely loved this book, although it did remind me of a Lifetime movie I saw a while back. I loved all the characters in this book and they were well developed and I definitely felt emotionally invested in their story (should've had tissue around during some parts of the book). I was happy that Ryan and Kate got their HEA, I just wish the author would've ended the book with the entire family sharing in their happiness.

Wait for Me is kind of a romance, but more a suspense novel with a touch of romance.

Kate’s husband dies and she’s picking up the pieces after his death. She opens a locked drawer in his office and realizes he isn’t the man she married.

Ryan lost his wife five years ago and he has never fully recovered from her death. Five years later, Ryan is a successful business man and is raising his nine-year old daughter. He also meets a woman, named Kate who claims...more

I feel that the cover of this book lets it down as it looks like erotic fiction but it is nothing like that. It is very much mystery, suspense and conspiracy. The main character had come out of a coma 18 months earlier with no memory to find herself married with a 3 year old son. When her husband dies she finds papers that make her question everything she believed about her life, question her marriage, who her husband was and who she was and she sets out on a quest to find out who she really is....more

Set in one of my favorite cities, San Francisco this is not the usual storyline that keeps me anxious throughout. Instead it's a feeling of anticipation of why? when? who? and what now? It's about family, lies, love, truth, forgiveness and moving on....in the end it was everything I had hoped for!

Another freebie from Amazon Kindle that did not disappoint!

Great read with lots of twist and turns. The mystery surrounding "Katie/Annie" had me hooked from the very beginning and I really felt for her while she unraveled the mystery. Ryan was a strong Hero with boundless love for Katie.
Really a very enjoyable read.

Recommend to anyone interested in a good mystery with a strong central love story.
Nice and steamy as well!

Picked this one up, purely because it was top of the kindle free list at that particular moment in time.

It's not a bad book - I liked the premice and the writing wasn't too bad. But I did struggle with it a bit... the H/Hr frustrated me a bit and I just wanted to knock their heads together on more than one occation (I actually prefered the romance between the Hr's brother + lawyer!), but the thing that really broke the suspension of disbelief for me was the mystery...
