Seventeen-year-old Kelly Ann leaves behind her boyfriend, family and friends in Glasgow to live and work in a London hotel for the summer. But losing her luggage and fending off tube gropers on her first day isn't a good start. Almost being arrested for stealing men's underwear on her second isn't any better. However she does manage to make friends, even though, to impress her new pals, she pretends to be older and more sophisticated than she is, with a doctor boyfriend. London life is fun, even though she has to work in a steaming hot kitchen all day. But her made-up life starts to get very complicated, and she has to rely on old friends to save the day.
My name is Liz Rettig and I am an author. Luckily I had an unhappy childhood, an angst ridden adolescence, and my adult years have been characterised by an almost unremitting catalogue of failures. The ideal background then to nurture an author's talent. I write funny romantic novels mainly for teens but loads of adults read them so they can look back and laugh (or cringe). You can find out more about me and my books plus read some fun stuff about dating, love and writing on my website http://www.lizrettig.com
I love kelly ann diary series but i don't like this one at all. I mean kelly ann seem to have changed so much from being really boyish through out the other books ( if you ask me i think that's kelly ann's main charm ) and now suddenly i don't even know this character any longer i mean this 'new' kelly ann seems to do is just create problems and lie all the time about her whole freaking life! And the author seem to have cut chris out of the book i mean not entirely but he only have a few scenes with kelly ann! Which for me its totally annoying because i love those two together cause they are just so cute... Anyways im sorry guys if im ranting about this again i just have to get it out on my system but all in all i will give this book 2/5 its okay but not that great
Admittedly I am probably too old for these books now so my review may be skewed. However as I read the first ones as a teenager and enjoyed them I thought I would read the continuations to see if I liked them as much. I did not. The books follow all the same formula where Kelly Ann, the main character, makes mistakes and lies with 'hilarious' consequences. I don't mind all the parts in between as they are quite funny, especially Kelly Ann's mother and the interaction with her friends, but generally Kelly Ann is not a sympathetic character and overall I would recommend other books over this series.
When seventeen year old Kelly Ann leaves her beloved boyfriend Chris to go on a voyage for freedom and lead a stylish, sophisticated life in London, she makes friends, starts a new job, follows her dream of becoming a professional dancer and most of all, causes chaos. She pretends that she is a sophisticated, mature woman to impress colleagues, when really, she is just excited to be on a holiday with no bedtime, and nagging parents. Young Kelly Ann faces risks of temptation, including hot American Mark. A hilarious, light hearted book that will be sure to make you smile.
