I loved the Western steampunk world in novella one of this series and think this setting is the best part of these two novellas. The plot involving a corrupt government official and his quest to wage war on the West and Damian and Kell has good resolution that was missing from novella one. I liked that the steampunk war machines play huge roles here and the sci-fi fan in me was totally geeking out about them. Kell and Damian’s romance continues to be erotic but

pm the same as bk 1. I liked how the whole intrigue part was incorporated in and such. The battle wasn't completely anticlimactic, which is also a great plus.
