A must read for all Americans.

David Wood won a Pulitzer Prize for the essential reporting he did on veterans who have returned from Afghanistan and Iraq with debilitating physical and emotional wounds. The stories he collected during a year's worth of work are simultaneously heartbreaking and inspiriting. American troops are surviving wounds that would have killed them only a few years ago, but they have to live with afflictions that make it difficult to return to civilian life.
