In this second book in the A Town Called Hope Series, Kim and Zane were high school sweethearts. Fifteen years have passed since Zane stood up Kim on Prom night. When Zane Davidson returned home, Kim Walters wanted nothing to do with him. Zane is conflicted about his feelings for Kim and feels he is not worthy of Kim.

After a hurricane destroyed the Walters’ home, Kim’s father hires the wrong people to fix it. Kim needs Zane’s help now, since he has become a very successful contractor. But Mr. W

Kim Walters and Zane Davidson were young and in love – in high school. They were quite serious about each other and were planning to attend prom together, only Zane didn’t show up. He broke Kim’s heart that night leaving town without a word. Instead of finding any explanation, Kim finds a check stub written from her father to Zane for thousands of dollars. Kim, feeling bereft and betrayed, quickly rebounds and marries a man her father approves of. Only appearances are deceiving, Kim’s new ...more

I’ll admit I have a love/hate relationship with romance novels, and it doesn't help this book that my usual fare is fantasy; the real-life setting of this book doesn't help it’s case for me. The book is about a woman who meets up with an old beau just to fix her house (at least, they just start out as friends, anyway), and the boring part isn't the characters, I like them; it’s the whole repairing-the-house

When Kim Walters reluctantly asks Zane Davidson for his help in rebuilding her home after a hurricane, she gets more than she bargained for. A lot has happened since her sweetheart had left years before and has returned the hero. Kim and Zane not only have to come to terms with what broke up their relationship but how to make it stronger and Kim learns a valueable lesson in control.

I thoroghly enjoyed reading A Love Rekindled. Margaret Daley weaves a story like none other and keeps the reader r

Margaret Daley is among my favorite Oklahoma authors; however, A Love Rekindled is set along the Gulf Coast, the second in the series A Town Called Hope. I preferred His Holiday Family, the first in the series primarily because the hurricane around which the stories are based strikes during that novel. A Love Rekindled is set during the rebuilding phase for Hope and Keith Sommerfield is struggling. His daughter Kim Walters feels she has to do whatever it takes to hold her family together and ...more

I enjoyed the book, but the premise seemed to me to be more about forgiveness and overcoming the past for almost all the characters in the book rather than a story of a love from the past rekindled. The devastation of the hurricane forces them all to swallow their pride and work together. Working together allows them all to see the people they each become rather than the people they may have been or seemed to be in the past.

I received this book as a raffle prize. I tried, but I just couldn't finish it. I'm not an inspirational romance person, though I have read some very well-written ones and liked them. This is not one of those. One too many "he found the Lord" and I just couldn't continue.

Zane Davidson came back to Hope to help reconstruct after the hurricane. Kim's house was devastated not only by the hurricane, but by a fire later on that took out the repairs. Will Kim forgive Zane leaving 15 years ago and let him help rebuild their lives?
