Shibazakiiiiii. I did not expect to ship her with Tezuka but I am definitely being won over by this turn of events. They're both super competent hard workers! He looks like this most of the time -- •ิ_•ิ -- and she laughs at him! (because he's hilarious omg, what a secret doof) And obviously Iku and Dojo continue being amazing (you're too tall! sit down so I can offer a comforting headpat! xDDDDD i like how he's clearly got a mental toolkit of things to do to make people feel better. help him he...more
Reason for Reading: Next in the series.
Just look at that cover!! Sigh!! Makes you think this is the one, doesn't it? But as the publisher's summary tells us Iku just doesn't understand Dojo's feelings for her. However, this is a pivotal book in their relationship because Iku finally learns that Dojo is her prince! Now that's not a spoiler since we already knew this since book 1, but we've had to wait this long for Iku to know so their relationship could change and, wow, now that she knows things...more

SHE FINALLY KNOWS!!! And draws the wrong conclusion from it OF COURSE!!
Finally, this is the installment we have all been waiting for, Iku and her Prince, but then she doubts everything. OMG she is killing me. Where is all this insecurity coming from?? But Komaki saves the day, as usual. Gotta love that dude.
So yeah, this installment is definitely my favorite so far in the series. We see major character/relationship changes...Iku/Dojo, Tezuka/Shibazaki, Komaki/Marie and I am loving them all! An...more

This is my current favorite ongoing manga series. I love the concept, and the way the issues with censorship are presented do not bog down the story. It’s a little more action oriented than many shojo manga, but this suits both the plot and the combination of drama and comedy. I love the characters. The core cast is incredibly engaging, and their dynamics make for both great comedy and great drama. There are currently six volumes released in North America. The seventh volume is due out in early...more
I love this series so very much, and I think volume eight is the best volume of the series so far. It is, without a doubt, absolutely brilliant. But before I start fawning over its every minor and major quality, let me tell you why: it's explosive. It's jammed packed with plotty stuff and emotional drama and Iku/Dojo material galore. Plus, it's a very character-driven book; fans of folks like Shibazaki and Tezuka will not be disappointed.

I love this series, but the main character Kasahara is a little bit clueless. She is asked by Tezuka's brother (the one trying to centralize the libraries, who doesn't care how it gets that way) to join his splinter library group. She says no after she realizes that he is for censorship. Once Tezuka's older brother realizes he's not going to get Kasahara's help he says he can end her suffering (i.e. get out of the inquiry that has been hounding her for two months after the book burning of the pr...more
It wasn't until I just plopped the book down on my desk that I noticed the Prince & Princess heart on the front cover. Can you guess a likely plot development?

The long-awaited big reveal: Kasahara discovers the true identity of her Prince! And, what does she do when she learns the truth? She knocks him out cold! Things are going to get even more complicated for these two.
The second half of this volume sets up an arc where the team sets out to catch a molester in the library. They go undercover, with Kasahara and Shibazaki as bait.

I know it's a staple and this has always more or less been a romance manga, but man, the whole "Oh god, he knows, and he knows I know that he knows, and what do I do" is more frustrating to me than anything else. I found the side stuff with Tezuka's brother much more interesting. Still, a good issue. Just subject matter I found boring.
Good plot. Iku finally figured "it" out, which makes me happy.
Towards the end of this volume someone is assaulted in the library. Nothing graphic is shown; more concerning is the comments that are made afterwards when two girls on the team try to lure the suspect in. Also one or two uses of language.

Well, things didn't end up getting as serious in this volume as they seemed they would in the last one, but this series is still really interesting and a lot of fun. I'm enjoying the story lines that the supporting characters are getting lately. And! I'm all caught up and actually have to wait for the next book to come out! :(

Wah! Why do these volumes take so long to be released?! I get so easily sucked into this world and these characters; I love them!

This one is a bit more focused on relationships, but Iku does have her hearing resolved and they do start to hunt a molester in the library.
Nothing too objectionable in this one other than the molester.

“You may think you know someone very well. But there'll always be parts you can't see. Sometimes she'll look weak, but she is hiding her strength. Sometimes she'll seem strong... and yet she's so fragile on the inside.”
