The activities of a homebody and an enthusiastic world traveler are contrasted in illustrations brimming with humor. Two anthropomorphic pigs live in the country setting of Woodcock Pocket. There, Puddle turns his head to the sun streaming in his kitchen window as he makes popcorn on the stove. Meanwhile, Toot peers at the globe with a magnifying glass, planning an ambitious trip. He asks Puddle along, but goes forth alone, and from then on, the experiences of the two are laid side by side on th...more

Man, I love Toot & Puddle. The whole series is great, but I particularly love this one because it involves world travel and postcards.
Here's waz poppin': Toot and Puddle are best friends. One's a total homebody while the other wants to see the world. This book chronicles the adventures of both, abroad and snug at home in Woodcock Pocket, and the pigs communicate with eachother through a series of postcards.

I have a thing for great childrens books with cool illustrations and I happen to love piglets (don't ask me why). This book has it all! Written and illustrated by Holly Hobbie, this book is the first of many subsequent Toot and Puddle books. It is the story about two adorable piglets who live together in a place called Woodcock pocket.
Very original ilustrations of the two most endearing piglets you will ever meet! I have a few of the Toot and Puddle books, but want to own them all. Ju...more

I would love to own all of the Toot and Puddle books, but I've limited myself to the first one only. Everything about this book is cute--the names, the characterizations, the beautiful friendship between two opposites.
This is another book that I purchased years ago without regard to any future children. I thought it was so cute and wanted it for myself!

The wonderful Miss Holly Hobbie--I loved her dolls as a little girl and I love Toot & Puddle as an adult. I read these books to my girls when they were little and they remain favorites today. Add them to your collection--wonderful illustrations!

One of the fun new classics. This book doesn't quite work for toddlers, but it's a fun travel adventure for older children, and the illustrations are so whimsical that I find myself lingering between page turns.

One of my all time favorite books. And they describe Ricky and I perfectly!! I'm Toot, cause I like adventure and to travel, and Ricky is Puddle, cause he's content to stay at home! I love it!

As far as kids books go, these are some of the best both because of their excellent text and the beautiful illustrations.

Toot and Puddle books are gentle and sweet. Nothing flashy, nothing knee-slapping, just kind and lovely.
