The Clever hen, Ms Cleever is different than the other hens. With great cat like glasses, and her love of reading, Ms. Cleever tends to stay to herself. She is not interested in helping any of the other hens and has a lack of respect and rudeness toward the other barnyard animals. The horse and pig try to interact with her and she snubs them.

My Review: There was a hen in the chicken coop who thought she could never lay eggs. She thought she was the only bright hen because she loves to read. So the other hens named her Ms. Cleever.

And because she though she was the smartest she had no respect for the other hens including the farm animals, she was rude and impolite. As the title suggests, “The Clever Hen” is about an intelligent hen…one who has let her intelligence turn her into a snob. Ms. Cleever, as the hen is called, is a bird who likes to spend her time with intellectual pursuits. She has no time to chat with friends or to help out others in their time of need. She feels that her intelligence puts her above all the other barnyard animals, so she doesn’t think she needs any of them in her life.
