I was eight years old and bought this book because I subscribed to Mad magazine and loved the illustrious humor of Don Martin. Characters such as Fester Bestertester and Art Freen harken the connection to modern TV cartoons such as the neurotica of Bugs Bunny and Ren & Stimpy. Ultimate irony is on full display with "Brighten your day, buy a tie!" The final frame that makes the punchline exhibits the thin line between mental derangement and the notion of a funny final solution. In some ways, ...more
