Claire
Mira is a vampire or nightwalker as she calls herself and she is leader of other nightwalkers in her domain which is set in Savannah. A fellow vampire has been murdered and Mira and Knox her second in command have to solve the case before humans learn of their existence.

This is a fantastic novella set before Nightwalker which is the first book in the Dark Days series. Originally this story appeared in the Unbound anthology but has since been published as its own book. If you haven’t read any of...more

I thought this was a fantastic novella! I love that it was a complete story. Mira has 1 night to solve a crime involving the nightwalkers in Savannah, or she may be forced to return to the coven in Italy and lose her domain. The story takes place before Danaus comes into the picture, so she and Knox work together to resolve the crimes as well as maintain the nightwalker secret. It was great to see Mira working with Knox and learn more about their relationship and see their dynamic together. The...more

this one took me a while to warm up to, in fact I had it on my kindle for almost a year before I finally read it!! But it was ok, no romance, acceptable plot (sort of) and decent characters (sort of) I'll read next one.

I loved this little bit of insight into Mira prior to Danaus entering her life. It's amazing how much she changes throughout the series.

Thought this was a great story. Would love to see more of them, especially involving Danaus.

Short, fast and interesting.

I enjoyed this novella much better than the previous one; it had a bit of a mystery to it, as well as tying into the main books.

This novella felt unfinished but leaves you wanting more background on Knox and what if the relationship did turn romantic. It does show a more savage Mira and what her true Fire Starter nature is really capable of. The title is a little confusing as it really doesn't fit the novella that well. Love the reference to Cincinnati.

Mira without the half demon is just not a book worth reading, or so I think.

It half held my attention.

The ending was okay.

I really enjoyed this short story. Glad we got to see Knox more
