The Prophecy
by
Raine Thomas (Goodreads Author)
Saraqael hadn’t intended to fall in love with Kate. It shouldn’t have even been possible. His kind didn’t experience emotion, and they certainly weren’t supposed to become attached to humans.
When he discovers that Kate’s dying and there’s nothing he or her human doctors can do for her, Saraqael realizes how deep his feelings for her run. And he understands just how far he’...more

As I completed Raine's Daughters of Saraqael Trilogy (Becoming, Central and Foretold), I wanted to know more about Saraqael, his relationship with Kate and how it all began; luckily Raine released the Prophecy, which gives us a sneak peek into the history of Saraqael and Kate. The Prophecy is not a full-sized novel; it's just a brief taste of what's to come, but I really enjoyed it and I can't wait to read more. The Prophecy also shows Saraqael's friendship with Quincy, which was nice to see. Ra...more
I loved this short story! I really enjoyed the Daughters of Saraqael trilogy and this story gave me that bit of added history that I was craving. It provided insight into Saraqael's feelings and what he was willing to risk for love. As well, it was great to read about his friendship with Quincy, which was more like that of brothers than friends. Having already read about these characters in the trilogy, I was glad to have more details to help fill in the missing pieces in my imagination. Of cour...more
What I loved about The Prophecy is that is gives us a better glimpse into how the mind of an Estilorian works and how Saraqael and Kate fell in love. Having read the Daughters of Saraqael trilogy first I was curious about the story behind Saraqael and Kate and was very excited when I found out that Raine was writing their story as a short story. The Prophecy adds a layer of understanding to how the Estilorians live. Since this about Amber, Olivia, & Skye's parents then reading this before or...more
Wow, what a sweet short story! I would definitely recommend anyone who has read or plans to read the Daughters of Saraqael trilogy to read this. It's a nice bonus from the author. I really enjoyed the interactions between Quincy and Saraqael. Obviously, I also enjoyed all the love Saraqael clearly felt for Kate. I'm so happy to re-enter this world that Raine has painted so vividly!
I read Becoming and was craving to know a bit more about Saraqael and the Estilorians. The Prophecy offers the reader an insight into this awesome world and a bit more knowledge on how everything works between them and the humans. I can't wait to read Central and Foretold.
I would like to point out that when I got to the last page, I screamed: NO! Rather loud, because it was that good. I just wanted to stay with Saraqael and Kate. :(

I love The Prophecy. I really enjoyed getting to know more about Saraqael and Kate's relationship and the friendship between Saraqael and Quincy. I can't wait for the Firstborn trilogy to be released! I love the Estilorians! Raine Thomas is an amazing writer.
