Finding Redemption in a world saturated with Twilight was a great gift. While it isn't the best vampire book I have read, it makes my very short list with the original Dracula by Bram Stoker, the ultra scary Salem's Lot, Kostova's The Historian and my guilty pleasure Sookie Stackhouse books. Why? because it's a fun read that combines Vlad the Impaler with an unforgettable love story. How cool is that!

I liked the main characters in this book, as well as Victoria Logue's writing style. She is quite descriptive, which really helps me re-create the story in my imagination. The American and European vibes in the book, German, Turkish and Romanian in particular, give a worldly feel to the story. The story stays very true to history, which made it more believable for me. I think it could have had more adventure in the first half of the book, not that it was bad by any means, I just started wonderi...more
A fun read with a story that moves along through time and around the globe. Curious about the Vlad parts of Redemption I did a little research and found that Logue not only got that right, but that the real story fits so neatly with her fiction that it left me with the feeling that it was all true.
I know he's not the hero of the book, but I might be a little bit in love with Abe. What does that say about me?

I was very fortunate to be a first reader winner and I thoroughly enjoyed the book. Victoria Logue was able to give this well told story a refreshing twist. I loved the characters in this story and the book was hard to put down. It was well written with a great plot line. I highly recommend it for anybody who loves a good vampire story. However don't expect any wild and crazy sex scenes, but rather a romantic love story, hopefully with a happy ending. ;-)
I won this from Goodreads First Read. I loved it from the moment it began. I knew a bit about Vlad the Impaler and I loved how Mrs. Logue wove his story in with hers. I have to admit it was nice to read a book where a Vampire was a Vampire and didn't glimmer in the sunlight. I almost spit my tea from my nose when Ginny was talking about reading Twilight. I'm ready for book 2 to see where life after takes them, though the ending was satisfying.
A very enjoyable read. All of the characters were very likable, except for Vlad and he definitely fit the villain category. I really enjoyed the pacing of the book, it allowed time for me to get to know the characters and for them to get to know each other. The ending what just what I was hoping for even if it was a little bit too fairy tale. I would definitely recommend this book!
